Full credit to Medvedev, I did not expect him to come out swinging as much as he did, especially with how much time he spent on court this AO (side note: Rough that he lost from 2 sets up again. Hope he can get the AO someday). Sinner is a beast. He's been playing like a god since roughly September/October, and he really proved he's a top competitor this tournament. Completely dominant for a lot of the rounds, then beating Djokovic (already insane) and Medvedev to win the title with one of the best championship point shots I've seen. Great game from him and hopefully he wins more titles in the future. Daniil played exuberant and fantastic tennis in the first two sets, possibly haven’t seen anything like it in a final in recent times. All that after having three 5-set matches throughout the course of the tournament, 2 of them back-to-back is worthy of praise. His mental strength and physical strength is truly commendable. He will have his day, perhaps at the US Open this year, which I also look forward to. Otherwise, congratulations to Jannik Sinner, and hopefully we see his games more often in semis and finals.

Running the risk of sounding hollow, this won't be his last. He also deserves praise of ridding us of that serial pest with the bionic wrist and anger issues. I will never forget this and am forever thankful! 👍👍 But don't forget Meddy.... when Meddy comes to town, he don't come to mess around... he come to play! He won't waste his time with three-setters, that would be unfair to the audience and be hardly worth putting on his tennis shoes for. No, it's five-setters that he seems to seek out like a heat missile! It's possible that Meddy is the only player who broke a record this AO. He spent a record 24 hours and 17 minutes on court to become the first player to surpass a full day of play in a single grand slam. Congrats to you too, Meddy! 👍👍

  • Medvedev, unfortunately, will end up like Murray. He doesn't have that raw power like Alcaraz, Nadal, or the sudden turbo charged winners that Djokovic, Federer can generate from defensive positions. His game is dependent on depth and immaculate control of his ground strokes. And once an opponent like Sinner reels in his errors and goes power mode, it's pretty much over. That's exactly what happened today.

  • Absolutely gutted for Medvedev. He's lost 3 finals here, 2 of which could have gone either way...that got to hurt. Hopefully, he doesn't end up like Murray and lose 5 finals. He deserves a win here and more!

  • brutal match, what a mixed bag of a tournament. certainly one of the craziest ever. i really feel for medvedev, but this final just cements him further as one of the best players of this generation. hats off to sinner because those first two sets were devastating to watch. the mentality, composure, and fitness needed to recover from a deficit like that are things the likes of generational greats have. watching his journey has been nothing short of spectacular and i cannot wait go see what’s next. there will be more to come from both jan and daniil in the future and im excited to see them hopefully as frontrunners in more slams

  • Sometimes you got to be lucky to win a grand slam and Medvedev had all the luck going his way the first two sets (combined with great play). Then Sinner decided to create his own luck. Absolutely hard fought and completely deserving win for the Italian. Just outplayed the lanky Russian in the last 3 sets.

  • Great first 2 sets for Medveved, in my opinion he tried to crash Sinner down as fast as he could knowing that his energy won't last long after all those tough long battles he had previously. After being down 2-0 Sinner slowly gained confidence due to Danill few mistakes and keeping the games lead with his turn of serve. After he won the first set Medveved started feeling tired and out of energy while Jannick was going at full tank. Great way to win his first ever Grand Slam, wish you many more to come 🇮🇹

  • I have always stressed that the ability to WIN the match is the ultimate goal. Doing it from trailing 2 sets down, the odds are never in your favor. But congrats to Sinner that was able to pull that off. Danil did it in his semi final match against Zverev, but the tables turned on him in the final and he was not able to close it out and get the win. That perseverance in a grand slam final shows the sign of a great champion. .Sinner's message is a great one. Never stop looking on ways to improve your game. Mentally, physically, strategically, Sinner showed growth and improvement throughout last year and during this tournament and was rewarded for it with getting his first grand slam trophy ! Well deserved! Hopefully it inspires or drives others to do the same and we can finally look passed the Djokovic dominated era once and for all!
