  • This is how you accept loss with grace. Bellew didn't make any excuses and he acknowledged the superiority of his opponent. And then wished him the best.

    • @@God1stProductions Well, he could've made excuses. Plenty of athletes keep doing things like that. Deontay Wilder's full of excuses. Don't even get me started on some of the MMA fighters. But, you know, I don't recall Bellew being disrespectful toward Usyk. At least, not in a manner that's dramatic or sensationalized, as is often the case with some fighters.

    • Usyk is so well-prepared physically and mentally, you just can't get into his head. He studies his opponents into the tiniest detail, adapts to them in so far as to benefit from their weak points but still does "his own thing". The war is won before it even began by way of preparation and Usyk is a master in preparation. He has a massive amateur record of over 300 fights, thus massive experience. What we now see is the product of experience, talent and hard work. It is very very difficult to beat him. As we see even for "bigger" guys like AJ. I have the feeling that even with AJ, Usyk didn't give 100% - he set AJ up for the second fight and simply outboxed him comfortably. At the moment I see only Tyson Fury having a chance of beating Usyk. But he has to be prepared better than ever because Usyk will be his most difficult fight.

      @Velosirraton@Velosirraton4 жыл бұрын
    • @@Velosirraton That literally has nothing to do with "physics". There's a stark difference between a solid object with no variations and a human body. Your chin doesn't become better with a weight increase, your brain doesn't suddenly prevent CTE, your liver doesn't randomly create self regenerative properties. Going on your personal definition of "simple physics", Wilder at 215lbs shouldn't be able to KO people in one punch, especially men 30 - 40lbs bigger than him. If you aren't even versed in the most remedial forms of physics, you should probably not comment on their simplicity. If he went up in weight, his current build suggests it would be an increase via muscle mass versus body fat, which means he's going to be sacrificing some speed, he could even lose some power, and as in many scenarios, his now 'super body punch absorption" abilities might be very suspect.

  • 50% more jabs than other guys in the division... Thats stats is just amazing! And what about the angles he finds to make his combos. It looks like he predicts his opponents movements few seconds before they make it. His brain calculate almost without no mistake.This must be very demotivating to other guys. I am not even talking about how amazing is the accuracy of his body movement, in combination with his fast legs, all these skills makes him almost untouchable. Another important tactic is the strenght of his shots, he doesn't use his hole power to punch, more important for him is the accuracy and the speed of his shots... With such a busy right jab in a combo with his left punch he methodically imposes his will on all opponents. Usyk maybe is not one of the strongest punchers, but this imaybe is exactly most interesting thing that impresses all boxing analyzers.He doesn't look to KO at any cost, his most important task when he steps on the ring is to pick on his plan as closely as possible, this is very important to remain focused on his defense all 12 rounds.. His strong discipline makes some of his opponents to test his mentality and get him out of his comfort zone but usually they enter into his own territory, All of his fights I've watched so far I have not seen him sumbit to the emotions. For me his style of fighting is the pure beauty of boxing sport, to outbox the opponent. Its not always required a boxing match to finish with KO, so we can call it was attractive.

    • @Josh warner Lol when ? at 30 years when he lost by ko to Stevenson ? when he made draw against level C fighter Chilemba or he lost to level C Cleverly ? Ages are just numbers , doesn't matter , for every fighter prime time is different ...For someones from 25 to 30 , for someones 30-40 it's different . Mayweather at 37-8 was schooling the best fighters , Hopkins prime time was 37-46 , for Sergio Martinez 32-37,Wladimir Klitschko's prime time was 30-38 . The best time of the most of pro boxers is the time between 30-35. I have watched many fights of Bellew and against Usyk it was the best shape of Bellew . in this fight Bellew was in his best shape but Usyk was tired , he didn't have any rest , he became the WBSS champion and after 2 months he take this fight . Yo know what Bellew has never been level A fighter , he was excellent promoting .

He also fights south pole great he keeps stepping on the outside of fighters left leg and punches straight left or straight jab. The funny thing is he does it all night and they can't adjust to it..

Problem is, doing so leaves the body open and you cant matrix your body AS you punch because your elbows are up. Thats why they get caught going in vs fighters willing to trade shots.

Have a lot of respect for Bellew, he scraped and fought from the bottom and showed that he could be in there when he defeated Haye. In this fight he has superb head and foot movement. As far as Usyk goes, whats not to like about the guy lol? He took a boring style and improved it into something that highlights his movements, angles and set ups.

    • @@drdoom5516 There are levels to the game... Usyk has incredible skills I don't dispute that point. If you look at the base style of Amateur fighters, certain habits emerge: Movement is primarily linear, footwork is very basic, punch selection is also very basic. Usyk and Lomo have certainly taken the style to a great level... But compare fighters like James Toney and Tyson Fury, who were trained from an early age and have a style grounded in professional fighting and you can see a contrast. My initial point was that this point I am making has been in boxing for a very long time... we see more fighters who have been amateur fighters for most of their career, and certain traits emerge. Watch how Usyk fought Chisora... you can see bad habits that he later corrected, like moving back in straight lines, lack of head movement, etc. Hope this clarifies my point of view.

  • A perfect example of how the commentators don’t understand what is happening in a fight (clearly most have never boxed). Your biggest nightmare in a ring is an opponent who is constantly active, constantly taking centre ring, always relaxed, always on their toes (when your becoming flat footed), always stalking and applying pressure, never taking an eye off you, not show boating, they have angles for days and are answering all of your best shots with ease (particularly if they are smaller than you and it’s getting later in the rounds). What that does to you in a fight… most will never understand. Watch this fight with those points in mind and you will understand why Tony calls him the best!
