  • Jubilee has the potential to be a really great channel, but their debates are always incredibly hard to follow because they DO NOT MODERATE!!! If they had a moderator who was capable of actually doing the job these videos would be so much better. People screaming over each other is not a debate. It’s a grating shouting match. Edit to clarify: Many people have been commenting that they don’t want a moderator because they want everyone to have the chance to speak - I agree. That’s exactly WHY you need a moderator, whether it’s a proper debate or simply a heated discussion. I want everyone to have an equal opportunity to talk and not have to constantly say “Can you please stop interrupting me?” “Can I please finish my statement?” “Can I please answer the actual prompt?” They shouldn’t have to fight to speak. A moderator isn’t there to censor, (when done correctly) they’re there to ensure that everyone on the panel has an equal opportunity to speak.

  • I think this needs to be broken up a bit because it is such a huge conversation and at the moment everyone is at loggerheads and also have a discussion of what they want the future to be. What does their ideal future look like in terms of Israel and Gaza? Are both still there? What do they want the end of the war to look like? There is so much hurt on each side. To get to a middle ground they need to talk about what the future is going to be not how much they hurt. Which is so hard because it is still going on and it is traumatic on both sides. They have seen horrible things and there is so much pain and anger. To be truthful the war will not stop until both sides agree on a ceasefire, which won't happen until all hostages are released and they talk. Israel won't stop until they get all their people back and Gaza won't stop fighting Israel until Israel withdraws from Gaza which won't happen until they get the hostages. It's a viscous cycle that won't stop until people on both sides stand up and say enough.

I feel that alot of the information being spread is one sided, so you can't fully take a standpoint if what you are taking in is already provided in a state of bias. I will definitley have to do more research to fully be able to undestand the situation at hand. But even so I believe I could not take one side because both have their reasons, as shown in the video, both sides feel wronged so we cannot deny those feelings. Hopefully this situation gets better. best wishes to both sides.

  • Ariel was completely wrong about his comment on Palestinians standing a fair trial. Palestinians of the occupied West Bank, are not citizens of Israel. Thus in Zone B, or Zone C, where the Israeli military has legal and de facto military control, when the military arrests Palestinian Arabs they are arrested and treated like military subjects. And thus not awarded the same legal rights as an Israeli citizen, who would be arrested in Israel. It is estimated that there are over 1200 Palestinians, who are held in Israeli prisons without trial.

Around 13,000 have been arbitrarily detained, interrogated, tried in military courts and imprisoned since 2000, with thousands detained before this date.” Source: Defence for Children International - Palestine. “Research by ‘Save the Children’ found that Palestinian minors in Israeli detention endured physical, emotional and s*xual abuse. These children were often arrested at night and blindfolded with their hands and feet tied. 86% said they had been beaten, 69% said they had been strip-searched. Children reported being interrogated at unknown locations without a lawyer or parent present.” Source: Save the Children. “Israel allows minors to be prosecuted in military courts, which may accept confessions obtained by coercion or torture. 500-700 children are tried in military courts in Israel every year, the most common charge is stone-throwing, which can a prison sentence of up to 20 years.” Source: Defence for Children International - Palestine.

    • To maintain some of the autonomy, Palestinians have their own legal system that handles all crimes that are not security-related. For security-related crimes, Palestinians are trailed by a legal entity under the Israeli military. If you judge Palestinians in Israel's normal justice system, this is de facto annexation of the West Bank. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want Israel to annex the Occupied Territories? This is not done to hurt Palestinians, and being trailed in military court doesn't mean you get an unfair trial. This is simply done to avoid annexation.

  • How is she saying Israel doesn't control the water situation, when their government itself openly state how they shut it off? The PWA (Not PAW as she said), only provides 6% of the water in Gaza as far as I can see when I search it up. And the PWA buys it from Israel, so that is not in any way an argument to suggest Israel doesn't control the water supply to Gaza. The main thing PWA does is allocating the water that is already in Gaza, they don't control how much is able to get into Gaza. THAT is what Israel controls

    • @@user-vp8cr2uh4k They have missiles because they smuggle them in and/or built them in Gaza. They probably have smuggled some food and water into Gaza, however Israel controls the entire strip. Every money that comes officially to Gaza, has first to go through Israel. Every food that comes to or out of Gaza has to be approved by Israel. Egypt also follows Israel commands. Even crazier before oct 7th, Israel had controlled the calorie intake for the population and limits entry of imports to below average needs for humans. Obviously Gaza also provides some of the food for their people, but generally they have to rely on Israel, because they control their every border. As an occuppying force, they are also obliged to keep the occupied party nourished or else it again is considered a war crime under international law. They obviously can lift the almost 20yr siege of Gaza and let them get food and water from other sources. Also did you know that Israel steals the water from the west bank and sells a limited amount back to them? Israelis have approx. 4 times the amount of water than the people in the west bank.
