If you wanna be real let's talk about how Buckley and other fighters are getting less than 14% of revenue and he's on this show trying to diss Ariel for asking questions that can make the UFC look bad. NEWS FLASH - The UFC make themselves look bad and we don't need Ariel to become another one of the 1000 MMA Journalists who only ask UFC approved questions. Ariel commits a logical fallacy when he says, "I have been doing this show since 2009, you think I am trying to make the fighters look bad? 15 years I have been doing this show". Buckley didn't say that Ariel is trying to make the fighters look bad. He is saying that Ariel USES the fighters as a weapon to attack the UFC, and he doesn't necessarily care if the fighters look bad as a result. Totally different meanings and a complete logical fallacy... this example should be used in a college logic class. He does do that, and I have heard him many times try to get them to say things that could get them in trouble.

Some examples of Ariel bullshitting: Ariel rips into Dana about slapping his wife, provides a phone line for domestic abuse victims and then begs Jon Jones to go his show. 😅 Jamahal Hill asks Ariel about his words and Ariel pivots the conversation to say Hill defended Dana's slapping. Ariel purpetuated Dricus was being racial despite Dricus explaining on Ariel's own show he wasn't.
Don’t forget there’s video and 911 calls of Mike Perry abusing and hitting people, including his current girlfriends friend and a 911 call of his ex wife and his mother begging police to come because they were scared he was going to kill them. His now wife was in labour with the kid and he slashed his arm punching a glass door in the hospital because he was having a temper tantrum that she was yelling at him in pain. He even put up a pic about it. Ariel talks crap about Dana and anyone he doesn’t like, but like you said wants Jon on and has mike on constantly and does nothing but slurp his knob the entire time. Mikes ex wife even tweeted Ariel to tell him her story and he ignored her and has never even brought it up! Brings up hardy and Dana and anyone else who doesn’t bow and scrape to him and go on his show.

I don't think what Buckley thinks is true. Ariel invites many fighters way before they explode. It made perfect sense now to talk to Buckley. It also made sense to talk to him earlier probably. But also if the fighters even get offended that they're not invited to MMA hour, it proves this show is important for the fighters and for the UFC fans.
What he means is Ariel Helwani uses every single chance he gets to trash the UFC. He has a vendetta against Dana White and the UFC and it’s very obvious and it’s all because he prematurely told the world about Brock Lesnar coming to the UFC, and when Dana White held him accountable, he cried victim, literally cried.

Very weird interview. Seems like Joaquin had a side of the story but no receipts. Don’t think he will be interviewed by Ariel for the rest of 2024. God knows UFC deserves to be critiqued, and I think that's ariel's best work. But he is biased, and formulates questions and narratives in a way that pushes his own agenda or a viewpoint. And that makes him look disingenuous, exploitative and downright sleazy. Frankly I've been tired of him lately and stopped watching most of his interviews because of that.

There are indeed fighters that actually want to air some of the dirty laundry, when it suits them.
