I did a performance in front of 10k in a stadium once and even tho you have an ear piece it’s so hard to find that pitch in the beginning with so much going on around you. He did so well! The way y'all act disgusted by this, keep that same energy when it's two women! And y'all always talking about "what about the kids?" Since when has the BET award show ever been for kids? @creepshowclyde800@creepshowclyde8002 жыл бұрын
    • @@Jamesz_hunt This doesn't make any sense. Kissing is not inappropriate in our culture. If you let kids watch movies or shows after 8 pm (which is when BET awards are usually aired), that's your decision as a parent. I know I had to fight my parents over watching TV later than 8 pm until I was almost 14 years old (not because of the content but because I had school the next morning and needed to sleep long enough). So, that's enough to be at the discretion of parents. Just think about how WAP got aired at the Grammys. To make it family friendly they censored the lyrics but otherwise that was really sexual and also aired after 8 pm. Disgust is a subjective feeling, that shouldn't play a role in what airs on TV. Turning off the TV sounds like a bad idea. Either the kids saw the kiss and it's too late. They will take away that you as their parent (?) doesn't like kissing or maybe (if they are old enough to distinguish that you turned it off because it was two men kissing) that you dislike gay people. Which in turn could make them be aware that they aren't safe coming out to you (if they are not heterosexual) or they might believe that it's disgusting and take on with that homophobic reasoning. If the kids didn't see it and wonder why you would just turn the TV off, would you tell them the truth or would you lie to them (I just realized it's too late for you to watch TV)? The right thing to do would have been to observe your kids and talk to them about it if they seem to need a talk. I personally believe that 8-year-old kids won't even think about it twice. They have seen people kissing and find it equally disgusting regardless of the gender of the people kissing. If they are 12 year old, they will probably already know about gay people and not question it. And if they need to talk about it, you had a great opportunity to explain homosexuality. Kids don't need to see gay people? Depends. They should know that gay people exist and they should know that it's not something you need to hide because it's normal. A certain percentage of people is gay and the percentage doesn't change that much. If your kids turn out to be straight, it won't make them gay. You don't become gay because you see it. You only might come out as gay more easily because you don't feel the need to hide it. In some Muslim countries where homosexuality is a sin punishable by death, there is the same amount of gay people. They don't come out as gay because they want to live. This will haunt them their whole life or make them flee their country and family. It destroys their happiness. If your kid turns out to be gay, it won't make them not gay if they don't see it. There was a time where homosexuality was forbidden everywhere; still people were gay, even though they never saw a gay person in public, they just kept it to themselves and found ways to secretly find the places gay people met. If we actually banned any gay representation, it won't change the number of gay people, not now nor in the future. If you really believe that straight girls and boys would come out as gay because it's a huge deal and coming out gets celebrated, the best approach would be to deal coming out and sexuality nonchalantly. If it's normal to be gay and nothing to be celebrated, treat it as normal. If you treat it as something you want to hide or hush or keep from children, you actually make it more interesting. Let's say your 12 year old saw the kiss, is already questioning their sexuality and you turn off the TV. They will certainly not discuss their sexuality with you and will inform themselves on the Internet and look up the video on KZhead. It won't make them gay or straight, but it certainly will make them uncomfortable talking about sexuality with you and that's the worst thing to happen. If they actually have a problem with sexuality or sex, they won't come to you. They won't tell you about their partner. They won't tell you if they have problems with their partner because they couldn't discuss it with you. By alienting yourself from your kids, you might be the cause of serious problems. So... No, the performance is not the problem in our society. People like you are the problem.
