Eurowings Airbus A319 approach to Dusseldorf ( DUS / EDDL ) airport runway 23L in Germany. ATC callsign: Eurowings 7KM (Eurowings seven kilo mike). With cockpit audio. Produced in 4k quality with 3 cameras.
On this flight, the first officer is the pilot flying and the captain the pilot monitoring. As you can see in the video, the first officer is controlling the airplane via the sidestick and the thrust levers. The captain is monitoring everything and talking with air traffic control (ATC) via the radio.

- There are 2 parallel runways in Dusseldorf, but due to political reasons very often only one runway is in use. ATC works very hard to get everybody in and out with no or only little delay.

Oh, fantastic video!! Someone should film all your flights from the observer seat, the perspective is fantastic, in my opinion. You should really film more at sunset :) Please, keep up your very good work - each of your videos offers a very interesting insight and I think they manage to put a smile on everyone's face, who watches them.

- Danke fürs Feedback. Das hilft. Der Ausblick beim Takeoff ist aufgrund der sehr hohen Steigrate meist nur kurz oder gar nicht interessant. Ich behalte das aber im Hinterkopf und werde sicher bald mal wieder einen Takeoff veröffentlichen.

How far out do you hit the approach mode? Another great video as well.

- We usually arm the approach at the FCU when we are cleared by ATC for an instrument approach. We usually activate the approach phase at the MCDU when we start the speed reduction below 250 knots for landing. When overflying the precalculated deceleration point, the approach phase would be activated automatically.

Great video, but it seems like tower cleared the takeoff behind you before you had fully vacated the runway? Is that normal?

- The other airplane got the takeoff clearance as we had physically left the runway and were continuously taxiing with good speed. This is normal. I am not an ATC expert, but if I remember right, there may be also local regulations at some airports which allow an earlier takeoff clearance as soon as the landing airplane passed a certain point on the runway and continues taxiing with a good speed towards a high speed turn off. This for sure depends on the length of the runway. Main goal of ATC is always to provide a good separation between the 2 airplanes.

Was würde ich dafür geben dieses Flugzeug fliegen zu dürfen. Alleine schon deshalb weil das Cockpit im Dunkeln so genial aussieht.

- Danke fürs Anschauen. KZhead geht in der gebührenfreien Version nicht ganz ohne Werbung. Ich kann mir aber mal die Platzierung der Werbung anschauen. Das hat KZhead bisher automatisch gemacht. Eventuell lässt sich da was verbessern. Ansonsten gibt es noch KZhead Premium. Das kostet eine monatliche Gebühr, ist dafür werbefrei.

- He concentrated on flying the airplane. Below 10000 feet, we only talk if it is really needed or if the procedures require it. This is one key to a safe flight operation. Have a nice day!
