Thanks for the video! As a member of the Airfield Operations Team, it is great to see Heathrow from the flight deck perspective. Some feedback on a few comments you make during the video: 13:50 - During early morning, Heathrow often has more arrivals than departures and therefore operates 'Tactically Enhanced Arrival Mode' (TEAM) where we can land up to 6 arriving aircraft on the departure runway. 14:20 - Heathrow requires 2 aircraft length of gap before using an uncontrolled crossing (as seen in the video) which is why the vehicles don't cross, despite your efforts to keep it clear. The location of SATUN and this crossing is not great and often the traffic can queue 10+ vehicles long when the hold is busy.
Thank you so much for watching the video and for the very detailed explanations! You answered all my questions, which came up during our departure from LHR! Also, I would like to thank you and your team for managing this huge amount of airplanes and ground vehicles and providing a safe operating environment for everyone. Have a great day!
😢😮😅😢😮😢good witchtes
wow really interesting
Sorry. I wasn't being sarcastic. I am genuinely interested in this information as an aviation enthusiast.
I have a question on nobody has ever asked. Do airplanes or airlines have different characteristics when they takeoff and land? Like for example airfrance when it takes off and lands you don’t feel anything but Brussels airline it shows the wings too much if it wanted to go right or left in mid air you can heavily feel it making a right turn or left turn even the landing it unbelievable
For some people, this video is absolutely a boring one. But to me, it's a huge knowledge to learn! Not many airlines let their pilots to record many parts of their flight operations. Even if they allow it, not many pilots have the consistent desire to share it to the world. Thanks Capt., much appreciated!
Thank you so much for watching. It's great to hear that you learned from my video. I wish you all the best and a nice day!
i think the co-pilot also finds it quite boring
Always wondered what goes on in the cockpit. Very well done. Thanks
Nope, pilot must share their operations, thats how airlines works
I'm the same mate I'm a pilot for airbus best job in the world
All medium to large airports should adopt the "follow the green lights" system. It's a brilliant way to manage a busy airfield and ATC at Heathrow is fantastic - clear, without fuss and efficient.
I 100 % agree! It is a brilliant system and helps to warrant a safe operation.
louder!!!
Thank you for not editing out the long wait. It was fascinating to see just how busy things were that day. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
My non-aviation friends would think I'm crazy to sit and watch two pilots as they sit and wait patiently for their take-off slot.

And *hear* how busy things are too. Quite a long wait at FL60 before climb given. A really excellent detailed video. Much appreciated
God Mode ground controlling and tower. Unreal coordination. It's like a choreographed ballet. Best departure video ever. Awesome!!
Thanks for your good feedback! Have a wonderful day!
i have so much respect for the ATC workers here, the radio is literally non-stop! another fantastic video :)
Thanks for watching and your great feedback! I agree about the ATC crew. They are very very busy and work very hard providing a safe operation for all the planes who fly in and out of the airport!
The voice of the ATC Lady was so calm and confident, so focused...
That moment after take off when they come out of the fog and there’s a sunny sky ❤
This is something I like very much about being a pilot: On almost every flight I have the chance to see the sun and blue skies. Even if it is foggy and cloudy on the ground the whole day.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos this is also of the reasons why I would love to be a pilot. It's never a bad day when you have blue skies ahead.
Amazing videos. So nice to see full departures from gate to climbing out. Great Cockpit views with full ATC.
Thank you so much for the great and detailed feedback! Have a beautiful day!
You have the perfect format on this channel. No irrelevant rabbit, no irritating background music, brilliant screen layout, clear audio, and just pure aviation indulgence :)
Thank you so much for your good and helpful feedback! Have a great day!
Nice to see the queues at LHR from the cockpit, Used to experiencing them from the cheap seats at the back without really seeing anything.
Thanks for watching and the feedback! Have a great day!
Fantastic video and love the multiply cameras
Thanks for watching and the great feedback! Have a nice day!
in a video that shows arival and departure only, we dont need to waste screen space with the PFD, kinda pointless on the ground
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos Could you put a landing or take off video from Paris cdg??
That made a pleasant change to see a taxi to take off vid. It just goes to show how busy Heathrow is. I always love to see vids going in and out of Heathrow. Thank you for that. 😊
Thanks for watching! Great to hear that you like the video. All the best to you!
Einfach herrlich, bitte weiter so!
Wonderful departure!!
Thanks for watching and the good feedback! Have a nice day
Absolutely brilliant again! I know I say it every time but thank you so much for not fast forwarding through the long wait because it gives us an accurate picture of the reality of operations at a busy airport like Heathrow. Thanks again and keep these videos coming.
Thanks for watching and the friendly feedback! Have a nice day!
Super. And the fact this video is unedited for length really accentuates what makes flying in and out Heathrow so great.
Thanks for the feedback! Good to hear that you like the video! Have a nice day!
Really enjoyed this LHR departure. Thanks as always for sharing the views from your wonderful office!
Glad you enjoyed it! Have a great day!
Love these videos, stunning scenery and impressive professionalism and airmanship. I’ve personally been very lucky to not experience fear of flying but imagine watching these could provide some reassurance to those who do.
Thanks for the nice and friendly words! All the best to you!
Studied the Airbus for many years. Loved this video it confirms my procedures are nearly spot on, which helps me in my flight simming. Thanks for taking the time. Also, it was nice to know when to set std from going from FL 600 constraints to FL 150. I was leaving this until much later.
I’m terrified of flying. I’ve just discovered this and it’s def have come clarity! Xx
I work at Heathrow myself and actually load the eurowings, I have to flown for a good 10+ years and now have a genuine fear of flying but going to give it a go next year. I can 100% say my fear of flying is not because of the pilots, they do a fantastic job coming in and out of Heathrow.
Hi guys, this has been a really enjoyable start to my morning. Being able to see what happens from this perspective is amazing. Great quality!
Thank you so much for watching! Nice to hear that you like the video. Have a good day!
LOVE THE VIDEO!! It’s amazing to see how busy London is, and the long taxi to the runway..
It's great to hear that you like the video! Have a nice day!
I haven't even watched the video yet, but I just wanted to thank you for your frequent uploads! That's certainly not self-evident! And it's real work to put a 33 minute video together! Keep it up cause you're videos are legitimately the best cockpit POV videos out there. Not kidding! :)
Thank you so much for the great feedback! Please tell everybody about the channel. Have a wonderful day!

Love the departure footage and the waiting time... everything is great. Makes me want to go back to ground ops more than ever ✈️❤️
Thanks for watching and your personal thoughts! All the best to you!
Thank you so much for posting this. I never realized how much actually goes on in the cockpit. I flew into Heathrow on my way to Germany. It’s crazy how much goes in to and out of this airport.
Thank you for watching and your feedback! It's good to hear that the video gave you some new insights. Have a nice day!
Lovely video as always thank you. The clarity of the PDF and ND keeps getting better after each video!
Thanks. It is not that easy with good images of the PFD/ND. The medium intensity outside light on the cloudy day helped a lot. Have a nice day!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos the only solution is probably to mount the camera under the FCU but that wouldn't be safe as it would block your view. In any case, the production quality and effort you put in making these videos is phenomenal and I have no doubt your subscriber base will keep growing significantly. Safe Flying!
Fantastic video, your channel is a gem! Always love the Heathrow vids especially, such a busy airport and impressive ATC
Thanks for watching and the great feedback! All the best to you!
Thanks for keeping the video running. Really enjoyed this one. Brought back some long ago memories. Keep them coming please.

Another great upload. And thanks for not editing out the wait. Very immersive. :)
Thanks for watching and the helpful feedback! Have a nice day!
Loved this video! London Heathrow's taxing lights are pretty cool! Lessens pilot error trying to figure out which way to taxi to their destination or runway. Very cool!
Thanks for watching and the good feedback! I agree, the "follow the green" system is a great help and improves safety. Have a nice day!
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos This was my first video from your channel and loved the departure. Went looking for more but realized you mostly do landing approaches. So I'm fortunate to catch this one in my feed. lol You got a sub from me, but definitely looking out for more departure videos from you. Thanks for all you do!
Hearing the calls for the leader vehicles brought back memories. I did 8 years on the airfield at LHR, this made me miss it.
Thanks for watching and for sharing a part of your personal story! Have a nice day!
Brilliant video. Thankful for the amount of effort put into these. keep it up
Many thanks for watching and your great feedback! Have a good day!
Excellent video showing the whole unedited time from push back to take off. I have been in the Skybar of the Courtyard Hotel by Marriot which has an excellent view of aircraft taxing to and queuing at the threshold of runway 27R ready for take off. Thanks to all and the pilots for allowing the video. Gives a good insight of what it takes to get an aircraft safely to the threshold at such a busy airport as Heathrow.
Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your personal feedback! It’s great to hear that you like the video! Have a nice day!
Oh my I could watch a 24/7 feed of this!
Thanks for the wonderful feedback! Have a great day!
Excellent video, love seeing things from flight deck perspective as it helps me understand pilots viewpoints, especially as we are out and about on the field as Leader vehicles, great seeing the coordination all come together and a beautiful departure!
Thank you very much for your hard work on the ground and for sharing your very personal feedback! I hope to see you soon in London! Have a nice day!

Thanks!
This was absolutely fantastic. Thank you for sharing.
I am glad that you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and have a great day!
Another perfect cockpit video. Love these. I bet there aren't many other airports in Europe where you actually have to fly level during a departure.
Thanks for watching and the good feedback! A lot of airports have departures, which allow a continuous climb. But there are some others like Munich where you may fly underneath the arrival traffic during the departure. This requires also a low level off. Have a nice day.
@@ApproachandDepartureVideos - Thanks for the reply. I didn't think Heathrow would be unique in that regard, but unusual, nevertheless. I imagine noise abatement may be a factor too. So one frivolous question, if I may... would you say that commercial pilots generally have better temperaments for dealing with traffic when they are driving on busy roads? Because an impatient pilot would not prosper too long. Absolutely *loving* your videos, by the way. You've come from nowhere to be the best on KZhead. Have a great day.
Blessed to be as you were and will be. Loved this. Peace on Earth.
Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
Congrats for hitting the YT algorithm with this video capt! Really appreciative for these videos, a lot of insights to observe and get a better understanding of.
Thanks for watching and for your good feedback! Great to hear that you like the videos! Have a nice day!
Wow I've never seen anything like this before, I was captivated all throughout. Even just seeing the plane drive across the airport from the pilots' view was really interesting to me. At one point I almost forgot that you would be taking off as well. And then the take-off was insane, it was so fast and you just went straight into the clouds. Then before I knew it you emerged above them with a breathtaking view. Kinda makes me want to become a pilot.😅 I certainly will dive more into aviation here on youtube, it's really fascinating. In just a few months I will be flying via LHR myself, really looking forward to all the take-offs and landings, especially on such a big airport :D Thanks for the video!
Thank you very much for watching and for sharing your detailed comment! I agree, for a while it looked a little bit that we were part of a visitors group and just driving along the airport.
This is soooo soothing that I will use the audio when I go to sleep.

Loved seeing Concord parked there, Used to like watching that every day heading to Heathrow. wow didn't see that low cloud until you left the ground!!! that must be scary!
This was an interesting morning. During our takeoff, they still had low visibility procedures in progress due to the low ceiling. The good thing is that above the first cloud layer the weather was really nice. Have a good day!
Good morning Sir - fabulous footage from the flight deck. As an Air Traffic Controller at LHR, I'd like to commend you on your comment to the FO regarding being ready for departure when the 'Take-off' clearance is issued. You'd be surprised at the sheer number of crews who don't roll straight away once cleared. I understand that we are not on the flight deck and can never know what may delay your decision to depart once a clearance has been given - but it happens so many times each day that one begins to wonder whether some crews really appreciate LHR's runways are a very intense, high capacity operation. Best regards, we hope to be welcoming you and your colleagues back soon. P.S. I hope now that Kilo has been knocked through, it's making turn arounds even quicker 👍
First of all, I would like to thank you for the great job you and your colleagues do every day at LHR! There must be strong discipline and lots of planning involved to handle this huge amount of traffic. Congratulations for doing that safely every day! When we do the lineup at such a busy airport we know that we have to be ready for takeoff. My personal habit is that I usually ask the First Officer a moment before I expect the takeoff clearance if he is ready. This triggers another thought about the situation. Usually she or he is ready. She or he may also bring something up which we better check. For example weather on the radar which we can only check on the runway. Normally we do this during lineup. But sometimes it needs more than one short look. In regard to the unexpected delays on the runway, I can only assume that some crews delay the takeoff in fear of wakes from the prior departed airplane. They may want more separation before the takeoff. It looks to me that you separate the takeoff traffic by distance. If you do it by time, the result may vary a little. Thanks again and have a great day. I hope hearing you soon at LHR.
One addition: We used taxiway kilo already. Here is the video from a Cat 3 landing and the following taxiing to the stand via kilo. kzhead.info/sun/n7WMcpeLiJFoeWw/bejne.html
