I vividly remember this particular episode. Ripped out my heart and soul. The deep pain David felt losing another wife. I cried so hard watching how this affected the hulk, too. The way he held her so close to him never letting go as she passed away in so much agony in his arms as he was trying to figure out what to do or how to comfort her. 😥 The Hulk was surely as loving and gentle as David. Those of us who watched this episode when it originally aired can never forget this heart wrenching story.
I prefer this (CBS)version of the Incredible Hulk over others and like the nostalgic postings on KZhead
I love this episode now and when I was younger. It made me cry a lot and it still does today. 😭😭
@@kidsshaw7739 growing up as teen in 70s reading Marvel Comic books in era of 3 perhaps 4 📺 channels I still prefer the Bixby and CBS version of TIH over the newer adaptations.
@@dougfredricks2017 I agree
Wow! You echo my thoughts and feelings exactly with your well chosen words. I couldn't help bawling like a baby. This episode contains some of the most stunning acting in this series by Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno. Of course, the other actors were great too.😢😢😢❤
14:50-The transition between Banner's transformation and the storm's fury in the ocean is perfect. It perfectly represents the Hulk's power.
Well said.
I had forgotten about this episode, it's been a long time. Still made me cry, to hope they could have both been cured and have the rest of their lives together. A beautiful story of deep love and great loss 😔
*episode
At least they had some happy times together. Even though it was short. Happiness happens in moments
Happiness happens in moments is very true !
@mikedavirgo As the old saying goes, it is better to have loved and lost than it is to have never loved at all.
Old movies and tv series were the most romantic. Human values and more. This days we have just garbage dumb movies and tv series. What a shame
One of the greatest episodes of the series. Unfortunately, the series never ended the way it should’ve ended where he possibly found a cure. Instead, they killed the character off in 1990.
I was shocked that David died in the 1990 TV movie. I'm with you in that David should've had a cure to finally get back to being a normal human again.
Me and Mom was very disappointed that they didn't find a cure instead of killing him off. I have that movie and to this day I don't like watching it because I grew up watching the Incredible Hulk on Friday nights.
I've recently brought the complete box set of the incredible hulk not got around to watching the hulk but looking forward to watching lou ferrigno as the hulk ....great 70s watching hulk
Yeah that was bogus killing him off like that!!
If I remember correctly, Bixby being in failing health caused the direction of the movie to go towards the death of the Hulk.
This is better than the Hulk 2003 one and I love the 1978 Hulk with Bill Bixby yes
Much better than that cgi garbage
Less CG and more authentic acting with the story. Now its too relying on the CG and less storyline/acting
The hulk, infact, the want to be hulk in 2003 has nothing on david banner
Bill Bixby played David Banner so well that none of the Hulk movies have been able to match his performance.
Eu era Criança/Adolescente....ah, como eu amava assistir o INCRÍVEL HULK😔😊
One of the best episodes and most emotional.
Yes. Very emotional. 😥
Definitely! 😭💔
10:10 Banner put his real name on the certificate. If only McGee had the Internet.
😂😂😂
Lol, I noticed that too! As great as the internet is, we have definitely lost something in being able to travel in incognito-mode: now we're tapped, tracked, and traced everywhere we go it's almost impossible to get off grid, leave your troubles behind, and start anew!
@@Jayce1701 Oh, you can live off-grid, if you try hard enough. Get paid under the table, work some sleaze job where they don't care who you are. I've worked in a few places like that. Real skeezy places.
@@DIESEL0759 and that's why they make it like that: to force us all onto the plantation to be taxed, tracked, and trapped. TPTB wouldn't want us to freely live our life, they prefer to harness our labor for their own selfish and sinister purposes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lou Ferrigno was such an underrated actor.
Lou has a sensitive heart! He understands feelings and is so capable of expressing them just through his expressions... You are absolutely right, what a legend ❤
So true. A wonderful guy.
I remember that one. Complete tear jerker. As was the Pilot. Bill Bixby was such a good actor, and these stories were well written. I still remember the metaphor about the strawberry or cherry (or whatever it was) basically saying savor what you have when you have it because we are not guaranteed tomorrow
This is why Bill Bixby will be the ONLY Banner. All other is trash compared to him. Plus there's only only Hulk and you all know who that is. This is a great episode, amazing.
Rehash of The Fugitive. Remove Dr. Richard Kimble and replace him with Dr. David Banner/The Incredible Hulk.
I like the fact that this series was nothing close to Marvel. It had more to do with David’s character juxtaposition of Jean Valjean from Les Miserables. Kenneth Johnson and the writers did a great job of character development.
I remember this episode very well. I was just a child, and it had huge impact on me that remains to this day.
This is the second time I've seen a woman die in the Hulk's arms. He wss so much more calm here though, probably because he was expecting her to die as opposed to having been trying unsuccessfully to save the other woman (Elaina) from a fire. So sad, though.
I absolutely LOVE this series, I watched it every week when it aired on SciFi I think it was - they don't make TV shows like this anymore, this feels so much more authentic than today's stuff.
Considering this was basically a rehash of premise of The Fugitive.
That scene still 😢....That was GREAT acting and shout to the writer...
His clothing bill must of been through the roof.
The best moment in this episode was the story he was telling about the man being chased to the edge of a cliff by a tiger, the parallel he was making about her life being short in the same way, and how marriage to him could be seen as the wild berry the man had before falling to another tiger below. It was the most poetic thing I’d ever heard and he established himself in that role as a true romantic.
This is so much better than all this CGI donkey crap these days...
100% They were also well thought out, compelling stories.
@@sonicstep they definitely were far more compelling stories than the nonsense they have now. Good old days back then....
Agree 100%
Verdade pura
The greatest episode of all Hulks. There is no comparison.
Fun fact, Mariette Hartley won an Emmy because of her stellar performance!
I still remember this was the most heartbreaking episode. His wife dying in his arms.
A while ago, Hugh Jackman was interested in producing a Biopic, with his portrayal of "Bill Bixby", I thought that Mariette Hartley would have been perfect to portray "Bill's mother."
The ending with the kid was really the highlight of the story, just gotta keep trying in spite of failure
Man...forgot about this episode!! I remember feeling a certain way watching her slip away while the Hulk was holding her and it was heartfelt...nothing corny!! Great love and great loss!!
This is better than going to ,The Movie 🍿 Theaters, So Chrystal clear, Amazing graphics, Action pack, This made my week 🎊🎊🎉🎉🥰👋👋👋👋
I cry every time I watch this 😭😭😭...I'm such a dreamer......love this show
Wow, just to think Lou was being himself no cgi just some green gunk that took hours to apply. I had to screenshot him running to save his wife towards the end.
My favorite show since the beginning and still watching it when I can watch the show
This and Kung Fu were great psychological TV series. No TV series was ever as good.
The She-hulk we never got to have.
You forgot the bollowing alley transformation! Hulk gets the strike and shatters all the bollowing pins!
Love how he casually mentions to her in the beginning he’s prone to violent outbursts of anger and she acts like it’s no biggie hearing a Strange Man following her to her car saying that.
@seensay2132 I'm sure that she was just keeping herself composed and that internally, she was a bit freaked out.
It was her profession helping all kinds of people with mental problems and he seemed no different. She was also the best there was, so he was at first like nothing she hadn't already seen before.
It's always a beautiful, sunny day during a hurricane. 😅
Once Carol died and the Hulk cried....that was it for me.
I never saw this. Thankful as it’s too depressing for me as a kid but as adult I appreciate how it was made so brilliantly.
Oh man....the scene where the Hulk slowly moved toward her in the bedroom, snarling while casually bending the metal..... terrifying
I forgot how tragic this two parter was. I remember this vividly as a kid. More touching even now
The "Dream Sequence" in this episode... Speechless.
The part where David is under hypnosis and he growls "Laura I couldn't get her out" is missing...
That was the best part
... and the nightmare of Carolyn getting on the bus and being taken away (dying) from him. The scene was PERFECT, and the acting SUPERB.
That was by far the SCARIEST transformation.
I remember watching this episode as a kid.
Carol saw the complete package regarding the Hulk. She saw the Hulk's rage during Hulkouts 1 and 3.....but she also saw the gentle loving emotional side of the Hulk during Hulkouts 2 and 4
This is the one , almost , David could have had green babies 😂
Hulklets 😂😂😂
@@simonark1176 Hulklings.
no comp, this is by far the best episode and a ending that is unforgettable and memorable. this is the only episode my heart bled
One of the saddest episodes of the entire serie , along with The Psychic
Yes it was. Almost as sad as when the Bionic woman died on the Six Million dollar man.
He never lost the green makeup in the rain 😂
Grease paint…..repels water.
I thought I saw all the episodes. I don't recall this one. Strange. 😟
Married part 1 and 2 are classics. Alsom Prometheus and The First
@@cloverfield911It's funny that here in Brazil, I don't know in the United States, but this episode arrived here as a whole film without being divided into two parts. It was like a movie
mandela effect?
@@lenda_gama The first episode with a lab experiment that went terribly wrong with gamma rays, resulting in a fire was a T.V. film here in the U.K. I seem to recall another green though slimmer, older hulk featured in it that David battled.
The number of people who can't discern/remember the difference between the words, 'lose' and 'loose'.... is simply staggering....
"Looses"??? This is the official Incredible Hulk KZhead page that uses "Looses" in it's video title?! Wow..
It's not an Official page. These videos are all pitch shifted. It's subtle, but noticeable.
@@sfpincchicago I guess that does make so much better sense. Thank you for clearing that up for me.. ✌️
Every woman this man loved died, his first wife died in a fiery accident, Dr. Elena Marks died in a lab explosion and this woman he married dies soon after
I remember this episode and it made me cry something awful. However the one concerning the abused kid and his father till this day devestates me.
If David had saved Carolyn, would she have been able to help David control the Hulk or perhaps help David cure himself.?
Most likely. It would taken a long time, but eventually it would have happened. With the 2 of them putting their medical knowledge together, a cure could definitely have been found faster than David trying alone
@@Dhampir101980 Then the series would have ended before it did.
@@kevinnelson66 well, yeah. David getting cured was always the endgame. The show also could have ended in the episode “ the first, part two” if the serum hadn’t been destroyed
I know that's more of a new concept, and generally I don't like the "multiverse" cop out, but it would definitely have been a sweet way to end the series and give David a "happily ever after". It would also be interesting to see if David had to remain secluded on her estate while she worked (and he secretly helped her) or maybe find a way to get out of the legal jam of "faking his own death" and continue to be married and work with Carolyn to help patients.
Yes....but due to the Hulk's strength induced rage....Carolyn would have to occasionally have David undergo hynosis to develop an even STRONGER image to keep him contained.
One of the best episodes 👍🏻💯 i love this show, since I was a young lad. Bixby and Lou were perfect.
That was a good 3rd movie episode of The Incredible Hulk in the 2nd season. It was to be originally titled "The Bride Of The Incredible Hulk".
That was so heartbreaking.
His growling sounds like the late 70's Godzilla's voice from Hanna - Barbara cartoon. Think the cartoon only lasted for a year or two
The cartoon Godzilla was also done by Ted Cassidy
There’s only one O in Lose or Loses
This episode is really my favorite of the series. The chemistry between Mariette Hartley and Bill Bixby was exceptional. I think this is what led them to costar in another CBS series called Goodnight, Beantown. That last scene where Lou/The Hulk bear hugs a dying Mariette/ (Carolyn, I believe her screen name was if I remember correctly) and then transforms back into David was and still is heartbreaking. Well played by Mariette, Lou, and Bill.
I could never forget this Hulk it was one of the best tv shows we grew up watching. I clearly remember this episode I've watched it over again & again & my heart still goes out to David. I also loved the ending tune it just perfectly captures Davids polight. Fond fond memories, LOU ferrigno as the Hulk & Bill bigsby as david banner, forever holds for me❤❤.
The irony was that Mariette spent time with Bill during his last days of his existence.
This one broke me. Remember when it first aired too. Ken Johnson trademarked tragedy.
When he hulked out in his sleep 😬
"Erm, David I'm just gonna go out and buy some cigarettes real quick"...... "TAXI"
If the MCU ever gets the rights to do a Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo they should include a prequel story similar to this. It’ll show why he was so reluctant to become romantically involved with anyone while a part of the Avengers.
Loved this episode! Was it filmed in Hawaii?😮😊
No, it was filmed in Malibu California.
@@leah6448Thanks for the info. I was wondering the same thing as Bill had a condo in Hawaii.
@@jogordon1530Ofc. If you search up directors comments on this episode or any of the mini-movie episodes the director goes into behind the scenes details of the cast and crew it’s very interesting. Definitely recommend it.
@@jogordon1530I didn't know that! I think his ashes were spread in Hawaii, which certainly comports with him part-time living there ... he must have really loved it. I really miss his talent, he always came across as so genuine and sweet.
@@Jayce1701 His ex-wife still lives there.
What if Carolyn unconsciously sabotaged herself so that she did not become a ' She - Hulk ?
This is the second wife David buried, if there's a male equivalent to the black widow he's it 😊
I think the term is Bluebeard
First we forgot how to build pyramids Then we forgot how to build cathedrals Now we forgot how to make great TV shows like this! So glad I grew up when I did, great memories ❤
Hulk "LOOSES" his wife? Does he get a chance to "TIGHTEN" her up again?
Lol
No...he tried buying a screwdriver, but without a photo ID, he wasn't able.
The hulk out at around 10:40, he was trying so hard to fight it. When you hear him say "oh", he knew he couldn't fight it any longer.
One of my favorite episodes
Bill bixby was great actor and so was lou ferrigno💯❤️
This was a special 2 hour movie event and my family sat around and shed tears...
15:00 Bix hated wearing the green makeup and the contract lenses were no joke for him because it burns his eyes so bad
You can tell it's an early season when there's time and effort put into each transformation. In the later seasons the transformations were very swift and involved far too much re-used footage.
Marietta Hartley won an Emmy for this.
Hey Big guy, the sun's getting real low, 😊😊, I remember this episode I was 11yrs old, my mom cried like a baby when she died..😢😢
The beast has lost his beauty. 😢
HULK Siempre Está Enojado Es lo más Fuerte que Existe Aplasta ❤❤❤❤
I remember this episode as clear as day
I love the fusion of both the original (Pilot Episode through episode 2 of Season 1) and current (at that time Season 2 through Season 5) Hulk transformation soundtrack.
I really liked this episode. But still the pilot was my favorite of them all.
The best actor ever I watch this when I was kid I never forget this I watch this in TV
When David turned into the Hulk in the bed he was having a nightmare about Carolyn. 😢
And his current wife in this episode.
Some of these great scenes were filmed in Pasadena on the site of the former Ambassador College and in Malibu near Paradise Cove.
😢 makes me cry every time i see this scene.
There's some good writing here
The hulk should had never hit his wife, he should had left the house 🏡 and got himself back to normal to David.
And loses her as well.
I love how they mixed some shots from the pilot at 14 minutes.
Really sadness ending for Bruce 😟
One hell of a kids show back in the day.
He never got the chance to tighten her back up?!
Qué hermosa serie!!!
I myself remember this episode. Dr banner's wife passed away 😢😢in his arms. I cried 😢😢like a baby 🍼🍼 and I'm 50plus.now. always have, always will love 💕 every episode of The Incredible hulk
Bill Bixby *1934 +1993
I think Mariette Hartley was also in an NCIS episode, something about her wanting revenge on her daughter's rapist (daughter made up the story, she was never raped) but ends up poisoning De Nozzo instead. So, in that NCIS episode, she was some sort of CEO of a biopharma company, and on this video she's a shrink in need of biopharmaceutical intervention. Is she typecast?
Mariette Hartley was also in;Star Trek. She played;some sort of;cave women,I think?I know that she fall’s in love 😻 with;Mr.Spock in the episode. She also made commercials later on,but,I don’t know what that was about?
This was hard me to watch all over again i watched it when i was a young girl... i cried then and now... David banner shouldn't died the way he did on ( the trial David banner )... 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
