We NEED HELP at the CHATEAU!! | Introducing the best team
Welcome back at chateau de Londigny for the second time this week. We have got some people to introduce you too!
We wouldn’t be able to renovate the 43 room chateau without a whole team of trades people and we don’t want to hide it and want to make it look like it’s easy to do by ourselves!
So here is why we needed help and we found the greatest support in ROBIN, his son HARRY and MIKE (who loves to be part of the show) 😁
We are glad that we can keep up with all the work, before we are going to open the boutique accommodation and Spa business.
Kevin is on side as well and all of us are working away in the „new“ wing of the chateau!

I loved how you met your team by having a chat in a cafe! I feel like positive things will keep coming your way like this because of who you are. I love everything you’re achieving, choices of colours, tiles and the work you’re putting into your staircase will be a joy every day. The tile cutting at the stone wall in the hunting room was amazing!
The tile is a perfect match for the stone walls. Looks like it's always been there.
Thank you Susan, that’s what I said as well. I think it’s important, even if the new walls are already there, to create that sort of look. “Always has been there look” :)
What a hive of activity. Fabulous!
Lovely paint and those travetine tiles are lovely. Looks like you have got a good set of workers 😊
Thank you Jay. Yes really happy with our new support crew! 🙏🏼✨🙌🏻🏰
The floor looks fantastic. I can't wait to see the coming weeks what you do.
Wow, you both are moving very fast! Love your new team members and family members who have stayed behind to help you both move forward. The tiles are a beautiful color. I like the pink tone to them.
The edelweiss. It’s gorgeous.
Robin Harry and Mike ! Awesome work and so glad you are part of the team ! I enjoyed watching the progress. Keep up the great work and thanks for helping Denise and Brett! Donna USA Kansas City ❤
Thank you Donna for cheering the team 📣🙏🏼♥️ Reading it out to them !
When you butt 2 pieces of glass together (like in your door) without benefit of a lead joint, insert a clear silicone "H" joint to keep the glass edges from cracking breaking during expansion & contraction. ❤️🙏
Thank you for the hint! 🩷
Denisei have watched dozens of the chateau DIY and I have to say this is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, CHARMING, ELEGANT CHATEAU I have ever seen. I am so in love with your beautiful home. I'm in awe how quick your moving with your project. What a fabulous team you have working and helping you both. Love the pooches. The hunting room is going to be just fantastic when completed. You are doing such an awesome job with getting your special home just how it's meant to be. I shall soooo enjoy watching you over the months to come, I won't miss an episode. Wishing you all many months of happy exciting projects ahead, I'll be with you all the time. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your wonderful words lesley! ♥️♥️ Really thank you for your excitement and support ❤️
Ooohh! I’m into wearing pearl stud earrings lately too❣️👏🏻👏🏻 it’s fun having multiple workers working at the same time! I want to see the wallpaper!!!🩷👏🏻👏🏻
Hehe Holly! I love pearly earrings. The wallpaper will be AMAZING! I just can’t wait! This will be an episode I am really looking forward too! The areas will shine ✨ Thank you for watching 🩷
Denise how you look glamorous while rubbing down a hand rail with wire wool?? Beyond me but I am nearer your Grandmothers age🤣🤣 Your new team seem very good and the floor looks so impressive. So excited for you and the progress, you are hitting the ground running. I notice you are teaching the doggies to be site supervisors, well done. I think they need to have their portraits painted like Patrick and Stuart’s @ Journey totheChateau👏👏❤❤❤
Yes we are very glad that we have the team around us now! Helping hands are so highly valued! 😃🙏🏼🏰
It’s true; it takes a village. What exciting days ahead.
That floor looks great, perfect for that space. We have the same stone tiles in several places including outdoors. When they are grouted it fills the small natural holes in the stone for a smooth finish that is easy to clean. It is a good idea to seal them with a clear coat as they are porous and can stain otherwise. So glad to see you have a great team working for you there and cracking on fast. Don't forget if you need any metalwork repaired or altered, Tony can come fix it for you. xx
Hello to you both! 🩷 Thank you for your lovely comment Jane. You are always welcome back and Tony of course. Your idea 💡 is great! Hope you are both well!!! 🩷
You have certainly hit the ground running! The chateau is a hive of activity! Very impressive!
🐝🐝🐝😁
It was nice to see Amadeus, from "Le Demi Chateau"! He is so fun and positive and creative. Your tile layers did a magnificent job, scribing in the edges and all! Looks like it has always been there!
The floor, the paint colours......the poor old chateau won’t know what hit it!! Looking forward to seeing what you choose for wallpaper. Bringing some tired spaces back to life... I really enjoy seeing what this amazing group of people can accomplish. It was fun seeing all your family enjoying your new home and being so eager to want to pitch in and help! Watching from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
Thank you David! 😁 The Chateau just whispered, it’s okay, and she is looking forward to her new comeback ♥️ greetings to you 🇨🇦
You have a great team working for you! Can’t wait to see the progress!
The floor really does look magnificent and like it's always been there.❤
🙏🏼😍 thank you
Lovely team, hard working and just get on with the jobs. Well done getting known in the region and making friends. I love the colour youve chosen and look forward to seeing the papers. Coming along nicely 😊
Thank you Teepee, I hope you are feeling better again! The wallpaper will be up soon! I can’t wait! ✨🥰😍
Oh... Love the paint color also!
The floor is beautiful!!!
I can’t believe how much you have done now. Floor looks lovely. Sounds like your new staff are friendly, and very competent! Denise you are always managing to look lovely. I hope you have somebody helping you with the catering, shopping for supplies etc. Bye for now from GEELONG! 💕
Thank you Barb! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
So wonderful to have talented tradesmen helping to make your dreams come true. Looking forward to seeing the progress in the upcoming months 😍😘
What a great team you have.
Denise, I really like the choices thus far in terms if wall color and tile. You are so fortunate to have all of these skilled workers! It seems that getting French contractors to show up and complete a job has been one of the biggest challenges for expats when they purchase a chateau.
Sad to say some of the worst workers we have had have been Brits. In France artisans must complete professional training unlike UK where anyone can say they are builders. Denise and Bret seem to be so lucky with their team so relieved and happy for them all. They deserve it❤👏
We are really so lucky and the team is a blessing. Sometimes luck is the only thing that makes a difference. We wouldn’t have known who is good or not. We can only say, they are amazing and we can recommend them!!! ❤️
The floor looks amazing and looks like it was always there. It’s the perfect color with the stone walls. I love the paint color you selected also. Looks like you have a great team working with you. Can’t wait to see the wallpaper.
Thank you very much. Yes can’t wait for the wallpaper either! 🥹♥️🙏🏼
The floor is beautiful!
What's even more fascinating than how you met your team Denise is how quickly they assumed their roles as part of your KZhead channel ....and there they are on the cover shot! You've hit your stride with these guys. Looks like a heck of alot fun working at the Chateau. What a stroke of luck! ♥️🇨🇦
Absolutely lucky we are! ✨ And they love being part of the channel now 😁 It’s quite funny! ❤️
@@Chateau_de_Londigny it truly is! They play their roles wonderfully, as though they've always been part of your channel. They are clearly enjoying it and working hard too! I envy that kind of serendipity, that is luck, or 'something' Denise 100%. I am thrilled you found them and they found you. Incidentally how anyone can still look as you do in the midst of it all blows my mind. ❤️🇨🇦
Lovely choices! Exciting!
Denise, your home down under was beautiful and this fairytale castle will also be the best in france 😊 you both have class😊❤😊❤
thank you so much Mo! 🥹♥️
Great to see your new team working on the Chateau along with your Grandparents! Love the paint color you are choosing for your private entrance area! Can't wait to see the banister, stair rail and stairs brought back to amazing! I am sure the wallpaper will be just lovely! So exciting that so many projects are being done all at the same time!!! Busy Bees!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Yes Louise, it’s really a lot happening and we hope to get a lot done before the opening in August. 🥰 🐝
Bravo, things are happening everywhere 👏👏 It’s all coming together for you, all the noise and chatter, you’ll miss when they’re all gone. Looking amazing ❤❤
So true Ina! But they will stay for a little while. So much needs to be done! 😌🏰🥰
lots of progress in such a short amount of time, looking faboulus…..so much good energy with all these busy builders
Yes true! We are moving fast now! 😍🙏🏼 All hands on deck!
So wonderful that you have help. Can't wait to see the wallpaper
Every time i see them i just love love love them! - the 2 large hanging lanterns either side of your entrance
Stunning yes! 😍
I love the time lapse bits!!
Luv the walls ,tiles the choice of paint colour Denise it's beautiful ❤😊❤😊❤
Thank you Mo! So glad the color is a winner! :) Can’t wait for the finished walls and floors! Have a lovely weekend ✨🏰🤍
My my, what great progress! Here's my hint for door and window hardware (locks, hinges, knobs, etc.). If you wish to give the odd steel hardware a brass finish, use a wood brush with brass bristles and brush the hardware with it. The brass will transfer from the bristles to the steel surface.
Great! Thank you 😃
I agree with you. The floor is so amazing!! Love it!! I am so happy for you and your husband!! Keep up with the great work!!! Lots of love from Tennessee!!
Thank you April! 🥰😍😃 big hugs see you very soon again xx
Everything you’re doing is so fantastic. I love the colours you chose! It looks like you also have a great team! ❤🎉
Thank you 🥰😍🙏🏼
Wow! You're making some great progress. So smart to bring in extra help. It makes it just that much quicker you can open your doors for business and recoup some of the money spent.
Yes exactly. It’s impossible to do it ourselves in a short time. We are very glad and happy about the extra hands! 🙏🏼🏰
You’ve done an amazing big job. What a great team!
love your style. if you put together a colour swatch board with samples of all finishes and there reference numbers, position inlocation where contractors and tradesmen can check against it before installing.
all done. :) They know what I am planning to do with their help. 😄🏰🙏🏼
une bonne équipe, les travaux avancent vite c'est excitant
Very good video! Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖 PS it's looking absolutely wonderful!
Thank you Jackie 🩷
Making good progress! 👏
Thank you Glen. Hope you do as well! :)✨
@@Chateau_de_Londigny Merci
Beautiful floor
Oh Denise, that is a very long handrail( as it disappears upwards into the distance! 😂) Somehow you manage to look lovely even whilst scrubbing away with steel wool! So many exciting things happening in the chateau! Thank goodness you have found skilled helpers. ❤️🇨🇦
Haha Rita, true! I am a bit nervous 😬😄 But it’s fun! :) Thank you for your lovely words! 🩷
Looks as if you will be progressing really fast now with that new team on the block. 👍
yes it’s amazing! 😍 And a lot of fun! A chateau is only alive with lots of people around it. :)
A beautiful team and floor❤️❤️❤️❤️
🙏🏼♥️
Paint dries lighter. I like the first two colors and If it were moi, I would pull out the colors and accent them in the trim and furnishings in the room.
thats what I like too! ✨☺️🥰
Love the episode! The floor looks amazing and I like the paint color you chose!
🥰
Such a feel good channel! Love following the journey, meeting all the cool characters along the way - the English guys are so awesome, talented and funny! ❤
♥️
SOO BEAUTIFUL ❤🎉😊
Looks like you have a great team. You will be in your apartment very soon hopefully!
Fingers crossed! ☺️🩷🙏🏼
I like the colours!
Sally 🩷♥️☺️
We're missing Brett he must be busy in another one of those 43 rooms.....M&R
I’m here
😄😍 Thank you! Greatly appreciated
The amount of work you have done with your family, friends, employee, and teams is astonishing. Well done!! Now that I'm all caught up I want to see more. I love the Bathroom renovation, the paint colour you have chosen, the tiles for the Hunting Room are perfect and the outbuilding dining area is beautiful! I'm so glad you didn't have to give that up when you moved - you found the perfect spot in that outbuilding, It just needs a heat source of some kind, I'm sure you have figured it out already
Thank you so much! 🥰Can’t wait either to transform it all again. Thank you for following the journey. :)
@@Chateau_de_Londigny The Untouched rooms (knights room) could use a woodworm check and the furniture could use some waxing to help preserve it. Years ago washing old furniture with a damp soft cloth & weak black tea would help keep it's colour and the tannins in the tea remove old wax/dirt build up and help protect it. Then after it's been dried a bee's wax would be applied to keep the damp air off and make it shine. Damp wood is a favourite of woodworm and France has a huge problem with woodworm. Be careful of antiques that you bring in that they are treated for it before you bring them inside. The tiny holes in the banister that you were cleaning with steel wool are woodworm holes. It is so amazing that you have those untouched rooms, Looking at them I could imagine the meals and the chatter of battles won and lost and the plotting of future escapades. I am so impressed and amazed that you have so many untouched areas in your Beautiful Chateau. Watching you and your mother uncover the statues in the Garden, bringing them back to life, was wonderful. I can't wait to see the knights room cleaned, It will be a great respect to their memory. I'd be tempted to hold a medieval dinner in there in their honour. My father (master plasterer, carpenter and stone mason, WW2 Commando) was born in 1919 the youngest of 9 kids - we had a lot of very old furniture. Quakers on my mothers side - everything was made of wood (still is), made to last and made to be used. "If you don't use it you lose it" which is why it all needs repair. Leather was plentiful and cheap, cloth was expensive, any furniture with leather typically was for the upper staff, Knights, Kids, carriages. Good Fortune to you both, may you both be very happy together for many years to come in your new "Home" in France!
😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️
Love the new floor!!!!
Love the choice of flooring for that hunting room, absolutely perfect!!!!
wait for the wallpaper! 😍🙏🏼
Great job with the floor. Where is Brett? Can't remember the last time we saw him.
I’m there, just co ordinating all the stuff behind the scenes !!
When testing paint colours, paint upto a corner or outside edge. Easier to compare fabrics and other colour swatches
Asian made drills doesn't get great result on french steels ;)
oh, please wear safety glasses
It's great that u did find a builder and team to get the Chateau to where u want it for your business. Loved the floor in the spa ? Room and that fireplace is just beautiful. Denise that staircase is going to look even better once u have given it a new look of life . . Thank u for the new video take care . ❤❤🏰🐾🐾
🥰♥️ It’s not the Spa, it’s the hunting room ( will be available for functions and over night guests in the future) 🩷
I'm excited about the colour also the floor looks amazing, you are very good at interior design can't wait for the next episode

I've been following you ever since I first saw you at Patric & Stuart. You have bought an incredibly beautiful Chateau. I look forward to seeing what you will achieve next. The tiles were perfect. I'm a bit confused, is the room part of your apartment? It would have been nice to see the apartment before the renovation and then follow the change. What plans do you have for the rest of the Chateau, apart from the Spa? Lots of love from Norway 🇳🇴
Hello Karin, thank you for your comment. No the hunting room area is not part of the appartment. This is separated. Thank you so much for watching us since the beginning! Apart from the Spa we want to offer (only) three guest Suites and event space. High Tea, Functions, etc. Lots of Love to Norway! ♥️
Professional designer here… wallpaper is a mistake! The one chosen for the small bathroom is ilsuitedq to the space. Its great to modernize, but it needs to be in the spirit of the Castles history. The floors look beautiful
One of my favorite KZhead couples. ❤ the scale of home that you guys are working on is just beyond what my mind can even imagine. Can’t wait to watch this place come alive…. Glad you found a great team…..
Thank you! ❤️ We keep working on the big dream and thank you for following this
so take paint sample right to the edge rather than leaving a section of he old paint colour:)
Denise, did you model for Peter Williams Riding Apparel? I’ve seen a photo on Facebook and it looks very much like you!!!
Thank you, no I didn’t. But I have to look up the company. 😃
Hi don't see the link what is call
