That doesn't make sense when he will be 28 by then. Oh have Kirk play 2 years then trade him? The point of drafting a young quarterback is the salary, and build up around him. If you trade Kirk you will have a 40 million dollar cap hit negating any benefits of starting Penix. This move was idiotic and that might be an understatement.

  • If everything you said is true of Penix… why not just take him and have him start? And get the benefit of the rookie deal? Now you’re paying a combined 55 Mil for two guys and will never get benefit of that rookie deal

  • Why are people scratching their Head when your starting QB will be 36 when the Season starts. All the Win Now Junk was never going to happen because that means Super bowl or Bust which Cousins will never do. Also this nonsense about Penxi age is even far more bizarre. Of all the positions these Coaches have the most problem replacing, injuring QBs. The 3rd year Cap Hit for releasing Cousin would only be 12MIL. All the folks now crying were the same folks saying how Cousins was a Bust in the Playoffs. No way no How does any Team with any sense goes into a season without a decent backup. Most teams have horrible backups. Folks are way overblowing the Cousin QB contract numbers. DAK wants 60MIL per year. These QB numbers will only keep going sky-high.

  • How do you know you can't teach a QB to throw a better deep ball? Your a talking head, not a QB coach. You've been banging on Tua for a while. He was the #2 pick, starting for the Dolphins and he will be better this year than last year, which was pretty good.

  • I’ll take a system QB that wins over a great deep ball thrower every day of the week. Brady was and some still call him a system QB or a game manager. With 9 rings I will take that over Aaron’s skill set with one ring.

  • Nobody doubts his talent....Falcons could've grabed Hunter, or other D for needs instead of Kirk

  • If Penix is this good already and ready to contribute then signing Kirk Cousins was redundant. Either the Falcons are going to have a guy making 100M guaranteed sitting on the bench or they are going to be wasting valuable cheap years of a rookie scale QB contract for a guy that Colin is claiming to be pro ready. I mean it makes no sense.

  • So why sign Kirk if your scared about his health lol

  • I’m not sold on Caleb Williams. I think he’s too short. You guys think he’s too short too, but since his skin isn’t white, you don’t say anything about it. If his name were Drew or Doug, you would say something.

  • Man. I don't care how many people try to dice this. I will never believe that having kirk and Penix is a smart move. Keep kirk and pick bpa or use money to get more players and get Penix. Penix going there wouldn't be as egregious if they did the latter

  • After the draft all analysts think every 1st rounder is destined for greatness when in reality 50-60% will be bust

  • The pick of Penix at 8 isn't the issue, it is the 100 million guarantee with no trade clause to Kirk Cousins. That is just roster malpractice, the worst, absolutely worst, no benefits of having a young quarterback, and if you cut Kirk in ear 3 that's still 25 million loss. Lastly why would you want to season a 24 year old, this isn't 20,21,22 that need "development" ok. The 6th year at Washington was the same as riding the pine for 1 year at the NFL and probably much better. ATLANTA 100% deserves Roasting to a 3rd degree. Anything less then Super Bowl by either quarterback will be irredeemable
