    • Emma won this match easily still not playing her best tennis. At times she was brilliant but there is still room for improvement. She just has to improve that first serve.! That can be a huge advantage for her going forward. Also her shot selections at times left a lot to be improved upon. Saying all that she is playing high class tennis at times.! The best i have ever seen from her.! If she gets past Noskova i can see eye brows raising ahead. 😅 She could win the whole thing with a bit of further improvement and a healthy dose of luck?

    • 100% agree. Noskova is tough but those are the kind of matches Raducanu needs to start winning consistently to prove at least to herself that she is Top 30 material. She also needs to string 3 or 4 wins together rather than 2 and out. What we really don't want to see in the next match is a lacklustre performance and a medical timeout after the first set. She needs to break that cycle.

She seems to move well on clay for someone with so little experience and her tenacity and good use of the the courts dimensions and angles should serve her well. Clay is the most demanding fitness wise and that's a work in progress for sure. Plus clay is a bit of a leveler when it comes to serving and that'll help because I don't think that's ever going to be her strongest suit.

    @Leychel72@Leychel7218 күн бұрын
    • Yes slow courts like these really suck, not only do they make the tennis look awful like in slo-mo but they also increase injuries. Badosa is the first one to sustain a thigh injury today and had to retire from her match, there will be more as the week goes on. I want Emma to do well but I don't want her to get injured on this stupid slow court. Porsche really screwed up this year, this was always one of the faster courts. This slow court and these heavy XD balls they're using will ensure Swiatek wins again, it's her favorite condition.

I don't expect her to win her next match . But I do hope she does but not at the expense of injury. Still don't understand the absence of a permanent fitness coach. Although I did hear she had that idea in mind a few weeks ago in an interview.

    • Agree with everything you said. This was nowhere near the level she showed at BJKC last weekend. But to be fair this slow surface doesn't allow anyone's game to look good. Coco's game looked downright painful. Emma so needs a traveling physio who knows her body well to help her properly recover after every match.

      @dr.strange6775@dr.strange677518 күн бұрын
    • She's been working with a fitness coach for weeks. And she still had Will the Mechanic with her in France. She's tired because, as she pointed out in the post match on-court interview, you can't train into the fitness levels needed for tennis, you have to play matches. After today , she'll have played four matches in a week - one of the reasons Noskova might be favourite today - but four matches in a week will really help for her fitness in her next game. Which I think will be against Iga at the weekend, which would be 5 matches in a week!
