When he joined Arsenal in 2023, Kai Havertz was openly mocked, being voted as THE WORST TRANSFER of the summer window but in 2024, Havertz has completely turned it around, emerging as one of the best players in the Premier League and it's all thanks to Mikel Arteta & his Arsenal squad...

    • I think this is somewhat true, on the other hand I think chelsea deserve a trial for how many great players have looked shit at their club. Kai havertz - turned around when he joined arsenal Christian Pulisic: turned around when he joined AC Milan Joao Felix: Improved when he joined Barca I think Havertz is just good, and yeah Arteta and staff deserve something for seeing that but also they didn't create that, and a lot of really good players get fucked by them not being understood. Given Chelsea's record with good players recently I have to wonder about players like mudryk, caicedo, and fernandez, they might actually be really good

  • Let's talk more about why the criticism of Kai Havertz and scrutiny only really started when he joined Arsenal? 7 months ago, Statman Dave said Fabio Vieira should be starting ahead of Havertz. 4 months ago, Statman Dave in 'The Curious Case of Kai Havertz' said "If he doesn't score or assist, he becomes a bit of a ghost on the pitch" and expected more from a £65m. That same video in reply to a comment Dave says "I just question his overall defensive awareness like when defending in a block or tracking a runner." When Arsenal were first interested in signing Havertz in July 2023, I duly made note of a stat that revealed he was ranked 2nd behind Erling Haaland in PL off-ball runs in the penalty area for 2022/23 - in a Chelsea side that has been horrendously unstable for 2 years. THIS WAS THE BIGGEST CLUE WHY ARTETA BOUGHT HAVERTZ IN THE FIRST PLACE, DAVE. 2:11 - I'm glad you've finally seen the light too.

    • @@urbz100why are you arguing strawman? At what point did this guy say "Kai was loved at Chelsea". Facts are facts lad, and the Kai had the best stats out of all the players at Chelsea last year in many attacking aspects. He also had the second most off the ball runs into the penalty area in the entire league. These are facts. Truths.

    • @@StigPrice'let's talk more about why the criticism of kai havertz and the scrutiny only really started when he joined arsenal' Urbz is simply saying that kai was also criticised and scrutinised against at chelsea. @michaelboiteau9890@michaelboiteau989028 күн бұрын
    • @@michaelboiteau9890 again, he hasn't said that people at Chelsea weren't hating on havertz. Infact, he didn't make a statement at all, he asked a question (although that's most likely a typo). I think what he's talking about is the fact that when arsenal signed havertz every football youtuber started making weekly videos about havertz, the pundits on sky, BT, espn, talksport etc started asking why arteta would want to sign havertz... My guy went from being called King Kai to apparently not knowing how to kick a ball. And it's continued from there, regardless of if the criticism is negative or positive stuff, since he joined arsenal, people won't shut up about him lol When he was at Chelsea, the only people who cared about Kai havertz love or hate, was Chelsea fans. But when he signed for arsenal the entirety of world football including half the arsenal fan base joined together to write the guy off, create fail compilations of him etc lolol. The hate that Arsenal brings everybody wanted him to fail, especially the Chelsea fans. They don't want to see king Kai succeed at a rival club. The moment Kai signed for arsenal, that's when the criticism and scrutiny REALLY began. If what he thought he experienced at Chelsea was bad, it was nothing compared to the moment he signed for the gunners.

  • I think Kai can improve hugely. He's massively talented being technically skilful, very intelligent in how he reads the game and brilliant at timing his runs. He also has a great work ethic and is cold as ice under pressure in front of goal. To me, he just needs to be encouraged to play, as Arsen Wenger used to say "From the hip". He needs to play with more intuitive flare and from his own sense of fun. I think Arteta is the perfect manager to help him do this and I think there's a good chance he'll blossom into a true worldy.

    • It really reminds me a lot of the Giroud case. Also a player with obvious weaknesses in his position, the cope at the time was similar, his hold up, link up, presence, aerial ability are great!! Ultimately Havertz is too lackluster in possession to play in midfield for a team that wants to control matches, and not clinical or skilled enough to be a top striker. I suspect Arsenal are gonna go for a big midfield and striker signing in the next 3 windows, and Havertz will just become a utility man.

Ultimately, Havertz is a fine, versatile, rotational player who can offer something different in midfield or upfront, but he wasn't worth the money, and isn't the long term solution, just like Giroud wasn't.

  • It's all thanks to Mikkel Arteta and his Arsenal Squad? I'd say that such a claim seems to be just another mocking of Havertz's abilities. Havertz mainly got himself to thank for his abilities and the fact that he didn't let the haters pull him down. I mean let's not forget the fact that Hvaertz has been going through a very bad depression, which obviously impacted his abilties on the field. And the ruthless english media and public certainly didn't help it - instead they did smell blood and were out to completely destroy the man for eternity. Havertz has already been good before and has proven the worth he could bring to any team. He wasn't touted as a generational talent and was the most sought after young talent for nothing back in 2020. People with actual ball knowledge knew about his qualities and kept on beleiving in him.

  • It was clear when havetz arrived that given the way arsenal setup the most obvious place for him was false 9 ( given his skillet and the way arteta wants his false 9 to play). It was clear from community shield. He does need to improve his scoring but he is getting there. Why ppl criticized the player is bc arteta put him in an unfamiliar midfield role and he just was bad. Ppl will cite chelsea but there he had kova, jorginho, mount around him, very different setup. For germany he plays forward too, for bayer he played second striker. Naturally, as is customary with fans they directed their hate on the player rather than the person putting him there. Similar to when xhaka played at left back. Now arteta tried different ways to justify/shoehorn havetz there, playing odegaard deeper, playing trossard to help havrtz out but at the end of the day it's clear what s his best position is. The only casualty being are the lost points when havetz played in midfield, which in all likelihood will in the end count against us in this title race. But kudos to artera for correcting his mistakes, took too long in my opinion to acknowledge his mistake but we knew that with arteta, i e Willian

  • @statmandave. Havertz is a very inconsistent player. I could almost 100% guarantee he's a bench player next year. As a chelsea fan it wasn't the his attributes or movement. But his mentality. Too I inconstant and not clinical enough. March and early April are usually where he gets most his goals but his inability to be consistent is a huge factor to his game.

  • Trossard in the EPL has played 900 min less than Havertz and he essentially has same number of goals : Havertz has 1 more goal because of penalty,and 4 more assists.Every thing described in video that Havertz provides is not anything Trossard could not do if given the minutes so i do not understand why Havertz is thought of as special. Harvertz is ok as a player, but because he was billed as the next great thing people cannot let go of their original evaluation of him , and over sell his ability. This happens a lot with 1st rounders in the NFL.

    @highlordfurer@highlordfurer28 күн бұрын
    • Trossard is not a raumdeuter and does not possess the footballing intelligence of one, at least not yet. One thing Dave didn't really emphasise was Havertz's aerial prowess (he wins an insane amount of aerial duels). Also Trossard operates better as an inside forward/LW; Havertz has never played as a LW for Arsenal, and operates best as a false 9. They're just completely different players; it's more about tactics than G/A numbers.

  • Let me help in summarizing. Kai havertz was brought as a replacement for Xhaka. Xhaka in 2022-23 bottle season had a advance role and saw quite a few chances and goals come his way. Kai was brought for that. But in the initial games of the season, it didn't work. Kai has something extra over Xhaka. Where kai lacks in long pass and defend he excels in speed, strength, and attacking play than Xhaka. Which is why arteta saw him as a step up from Xhaka. But arteta decided to test kai as a cf, having played there for Chelsea, having ariel dominance. It worked. He provides more strength and pass success vs Jesus and Nketiah, has a more creative mind and again, a ariel threat. Arsenal most dangerous players in terms of goals are the wingers, and odegaard. Kai as cf means he can play them in, draw def away from them, and provide a end point for crosses.
