  • The one thing that Lana has taught me is that sadness and being sad is not a problem. Beauty is hidden in sadness just like it is in happiness. You have them both then you gonna find peace.

  • In my opinion, this record is very powerful. I feel like at some point Lana was broken and the people closest to her put her back together piece by piece, and now she’s healing. Friends and family are very important during the healing process. Sometimes calling on them can be life changing if you have nowhere else to turn.

I'm now a Lepper to them when I need them the most. Disgusting and sad. :( Havent seen them in over a year. This whole "virus" had ruined humanity and empathy. Which is exactly what the gov wants.

  • This feels like one of Lana’s most underrated songs. Hauntingly beautiful progression through a story of loss, acceptance and beauty of heartbreak. It doesn’t rely on a repetitive chorus to fill out the socially accepted length of a song, it’s almost 5 minutes of raw, gut wrenching honesty and reflection. Pure work of art.

  • Everyone seems to be talking about how happy she looks and I'm here thinking that she captured depression so accurately and beautifully. I see her trying (like I do) but the lingering sense of awkwardness, uneasiness and, well, sadness, is almost palpable.

  • People say that the music deserved a better video, but I think the video is very fit for the music. It seems like it was taken with a simple camera, low on saturation and lightness, depicting her sadness. She is sad, even in the video, as she is trying to move on with the help of her friends, hanging around in her place, doing everything and nothing. The video is simple; no special effects, no bright colors, no dancing lights. The video is her sadness depicted. And sadness is blue, like her banisters, raining like the sky, it feels like breathing in sleep, deep and slow.

Then I had a breakup, a toxic relationship while I was still depressed for everything, and the only voice in that tunnel was always HER voice… and now, that I have to heal and live with my past trauma, she is here with theese songs!!! ❤

Sometimes, you just can’t help what you feel but you’re super grateful for who you have around you. The storm, darker hue and all very beautifully ties together with the song. This music video isn’t trying to be anything but what Blue Banisters actually stands for. Well done Lana Del Rey! You did it again! I am so grateful that you made a video for this song! • I hate how much this song is underrated, perfectly captures that depressing melancholic feeling, and how lana is trying to heal of her past, and past loves surrounding with her "sisters" captures those good moments that you dont value but is when you really feel happiness, that you can be depressive but you can grow, accept, adapt, be grateful for what is around you and enjoy the moment, Those moments that you would remember nostalgic, how she paints, spends time with her family and smiles more... That's why is so beautiful and you see lana happy even tho she is not fully. People like more her early works for the rhythm but if you focus on blue banisters and you understand the poetic lyrics and listen to the beautiful vocals it floods you with this melancholic but beautiful feeling and you realize how much lana has grown as a person and how she show us it capturing it in her art

As Lana invites those who are closest to her in her life to help her feel safe and supported when she is sad is something we all need to be reminded of. We are never alone, there is always someone there to talk to when we are at our lowest points. Friends are one of the most important ingredients in our lives. 🤍

Vibrant, lighthearted, engaged - in the same breath detached, pensive, somber. I don’t think either has ever completely canceled the other out in my case. Every single time i hear this song i start bawling my eyes out, and every time i need to cry i come to this song. Sometimes just singing it to myself is enough to make me cry like a little baby. It’s beautiful, its sad, it’s hopeful. • I love how different her newer music videos are. She's being more real and genuine in them, her older ones (which I adore, no hate for them) seem to dramatize her songs and make them seem more like a story, while her newer videos, it's like she's showing us a look into her real self. She's doing the videos with her friend and sister, she's doing normal things that still show the story without glamorizing it. She's no longer the 'sad girl' aesthetic Tumblr made her out to be, she matured and is now being perceived as the person she should be; a woman is fierce and powerful but also a woman who doesn't have a perfect past and burdened with a sadness. She's more real in her videos, the way she looks at the camera makes it so easy to connect with her and understand what she's expressing. I hope this easy to understand, and not messy like my last comment...

    • Righttttt! Also it’s funny that I just realized that the original bluejeans video was used for the born to die album shoot and then the Paradise version used the second official blue jeans video. Wonder if thats intentional

  • Lana might’ve saved my life. Multiple times actually. Simple as that, idk her music makes you feel like you aren’t the only one on earth that’s filled with sadness and that there’s hope. Nothing but respect for her I’ve been listening to her for like 13 years and I’ve never not loved the song, lyrics, angelic voice, and beautiful tone of the song.
