INTERVIEWEE: John Kelly
🇦🇺 SMOKED WALLABY
🇦🇺WALLABY SALAMI
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
2. JOHN’S HOUSE
INTERVIEWEES: John Kelly, Katrina Kelly + Scott Chorley
🇦🇺POTTED POSSUM A LA BENNELONG: Cut the belly pork and fat into small cubes. Use a chopper to divide the possum while keeping it on the bone. Put all the ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil, then simmer tightly covered at 150 degrees for 4 to 5 hours until the meat is tender. Once cooled, remove the flesh from the bone and shred it. Combine the shredded meat and fat with other ingredients.
For the sauce, thinly slice 4 pears and mix them with 4 tablespoons each of cider vinegar and brown sugar, along with 1 cup of riberries. Simmer the sugar, cider, and sliced pears in a pan. Toss the mixture until the liquid has almost evaporated, then add the riberries and toss for another minute. Let the sauce cool and store any excess in jars.
🇦🇺CRUMBLED WALLABY WINGS: Add the eggs to a flat container and whisk with a tiny bit of water. Mix the breadcrumbs with the pepper berry, salt, and rosemary in a small bowl. Coat the slow-cooked wings with flour, dip them in egg mix, and then crumble them. Oven fry for two minutes at 180˚C.
🇦🇺WALLABY KEBOB + VENISON FAN FILLET STEAK: To prepare wallabies and deer, start by grilling them on a flat top. Once cooked, let them rest in a pot for 5 minutes before cutting them on a board. For plating, arrange 2 kabobs and a venison fan fillet (from a fallow deer) on the plate, alongside a fruit salad made with pears and plums.

I used to only feed kangaroo meat to my dog but after eating it in this episode it’s something I actively seek out
As a Aussie chef roo meat is supreme. Mega gamey though. Try emu if u can. Medium rare is the spot. Better than roo! Good luck!
@@tomderri2744 That’s next weeks episode 😂
It's yum :)
I LOVE kangaroo steak and so glad the major supermarkets sell it. Pan cooked - RARE - has to be rare - some seasoned grilled mushrooms and rocket - no gravy or sauce needed. Delicious! SO good for you too.
Woolworths and other supermarkets sell K Roo. My favourite is the herb and garlic steaks, it’s reasonably priced and delicious.
We need a whole show of that hunter... I laughed my ass off
The world has an explosion of leftist-mutants that needs controlling. It'll be easy. They're slow moving and wear bright colors. 🤣 Live stream please!!................YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! 🤣
bro was playing cod irl
My thoughts exactly! That dude was funny as s***. Seems like a guy you could easily hang out with in a pub, and his skill as a hunter was absolutely awe-inspiring.
Blokes like that are not uncommon in AUS
thought i was the only one
We need a whole ep with my guy hunter. He funny asf
True, doesn't even have to try.
That's straya for ya
Yes I ship this! Straya
That's really so true. He is amazing.
😂😂Agreed
This was by far the funniest episode ever. Scott losing it at the possum and beeps every half second had me in tears.
Seriously, I was filled with such joy when they were all laughing together.😂
tthis coming from an Australian...Scott is a what we call a passionate Aussie that love his job xD
the edits of language r pointless...cusswords r sentance enchancers....the editors of thos show dont appreciate that...pointless
Scott: I really love the animals, they are wonderful creatures..... The next minute: He cursing and shooting down one from a tree. Epic🤣
Personal vendetta on that particular creature
@@GeorgeEstregan828 Like yoooo!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can confirm that we hate possums. They eat everything in your garden, they leave their mess everywhere (which stains and the stink is pungent to say the least…) and the sound they make in the night is straight out of a horror movie
He loved the Wallaby, but he hated the Possum. And that was a Possum he was cursing at... it was a hilarious sequence tho lol
@@dwaynehiler5735 extremely hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
'Did you just scoop water from the river?' The only guy you'd expect to be drinking isn't. Low key hilarious.
Assuming wine isn't his thing
We need a whole episode of Scott vs Possum 😂
Agreed! Unedited.😉
Scott the Hunter, by far the most entertaining guest you've had on the show. Thank you for finding this legend!
Yeah man! I love the animals then," die ya little c#nt " as he shot the animal. I'm from Scotland and didn't need the subtitles when he spoke. Seems like an abundant source of protein until Gill Bates n Klaus et al get involved.
6:55 🤣🤣🤣 I lost it after "take that you son of a b....!" 🦘⚡️🧨🔫 The Aussie hunter needs his own show!
I died when he said I’ll shoot ya motha!
Aussie swear words is our love language 😂😂 that Hunter had me in tears
Oh hell yeah i threw up my coffee 😂
EVERY Australian will agree they have heard a cat and possum fighting at least once 😂
So true I literally heard it an hour ago😊
On your roof!
Meh, they've never heard North Carolina Bobcats and Possums fighting. It sounds like 2 screamingwomen in a hatchet fight!! or when I tell my wife "NO" and she wrecks my collection of SHERRINS in my Mancave. 😳🤣
My old ranga cat killed a possum, she was an absolute menace
@@matthewbright773are we neighbours? They were going nuts tonight!
Lol that hunter is unreal 😂 it’s hilarious that you feel the need to subtitle him 😅
Being from Southern Alabama, I understood what he was saying, but the subtitles really helped to confirm it.
Cuz of his accent as not everyone can understand his accent
That is freaky, the night vision footage of so so sooooo many animals all running around. That is mind blowing
Especially the lone wombat plodding across the field surrounded by all the wallabies. So cool!
@@redplanet7163I thought that was a pig.
@@leorinoreyes6430 😂 Definitely a wombat. Take it from an Aussie and ex-Tasmanian. If you look carefully there are one or two others in the shot as well.
It's THERMAL VISION footage, but otherwise I agree 👍👍👍
I love how the hunter's speech has subtitles for Americans. But perfectly understandable to Brits, Aussies, and Kiwis.
No offense, but Americans sometimes speak very different versions of English. As a black American I sometimes cringe when local “inner city” people or some black American athletes are interviewed. I sometimes wish I had captions when my own brother speaks. Sounds like Boomhauer on King of the Hill!
It certainly speaks to the relative complexity of the dialects when an Aussie can perfectly understand a Scotsman or Irishman from across the world, whilst Americans get tripped up trying to comprehend even a posh South English accent. Someone once told me that Americans speak like a foreign language student and it's the most astute comparison I've heard.
Two completely different people from the same place, and they work together to make something so great. Scott is hilarious and doesn't censor himself, John is very mellow. Love it.
That hunter guy is a character, I wish he could be the shows resident "hunter" on treks!
As a Tasmanian I’m absolutely loving these episodes! What a legend Scott is 😂 Keep up the great adventures
Sonny has taught me more about the native animals of my home country of Australia than I’ve learnt in the last decade. Cheers mate ❤
shit mate you do some learning from me then haha
Invaded country*
@@Manish_3333is it comfy up on that high horse you sitting on? Good grief man.
I'm indigenous and grateful to my white brothers for an easy and comfy life. They didn't invade anyone. They were born here like me. Stop being a keyboard warrior and defending people who neither want your dumb input nor asked for it.
😅😅😅
Man This Hunter is a Character... I Can Watch & Laugh My A$$ off By Watching This Guy Cursing in His Deep Australian Accent The Whole Day 😂😂😂😂
Hell yeah 😂 i was in tears
Scott could probably have his own reality tv show if he wanted
He was made for this like some Wallaby Terminator send back from the future. I couldn't stop laughing.
bro then ending hahaha "did you scoop you water fro the river?" "Yeh."
Scott's a real man's man.. hope you had a few beers with him 😁👍
Scott is a classic Aussie. We all swear
Do fuckin not....
@@nicholashall7999 Haha 😊🌎✨
@@nicholashall7999 Hey cunt! Where all good.
Hunter bloke is great, John gives me "I eat people" vibes. 🤣
i was getting wolf creek vibes
😆🤣
"What I like about this job is that I'm good at it" What a line
Scott is such a character 😂 and that shot with John and Katrina with their horse looks straight out of a movie ! This is one of my favorite episodes ❤️ well done Sonny and Team! 👏🏽
Scott REALLY made this episode super enjoyable. He is a respectable guy even though he comes off rough around the edges. You should do another show with him Sonny. You two definitely deserve a drink from me. Cheers 🍻
I like animals too, but I couldn't help but laugh every time Scott nailed one.
Why laugh?
@@daedae1522 beans
@@daedae1522 They looked quite goofy just before their brain got obliterated
Dude's a beast with the rifle haha!
Fuck, he can shoot, gotta be good to land head shots all night.
He said “where’s that wooly little s***head 😂” This is a cartoon character I love it 😂
Hunter seems like a really solid man, hope he finds something else to enjoy doing with the rest of his life.
@@Youssef-ml8gu haha that would be a fun read I’m sure.
@@johnnyrayh5858 I'm sure it would be! 😊🌎✨
"like some sort of wallaby terminator sent back from the future" awesome. Great show
My goodness, Sonny you are the man, 64 years on this earth and I have learnt more since watching you than I ever have, thank you so much. Please don't stop, regards to your wife & the team. Greetings from Cyprus. 👍👍❤❤
I like it when he said, I love all the animal, and then he just straight roasting the possum
If you love something, let it go! Unless you're Scott, then you place the ever-loving bejeezus out of it!
Sonny you are again showing the BIG picture for people. I really appreciate you give us not just food, but why these folks need to keep this population in check and they CAN be enjoyed responsibly
As an Aussie, I never knew this existed in our country, Thanks Sonny for the insight, loving these Australian videos from another side that no other youtuber has shown.
Sonny met his match today with those dry jokes😂, Scott is hilarious 😊😂
6:44 says he loves the animals and then starts cussing at the possum when he sees it 😂😂😂😂
We need more behind the scenes and bloopers 😂. Awesome video as always. Keep em coming!
lo this is the hunter is the best guest ive seen on this show after subscribing for over 3 years i love it haha
I love this ep, Scott is foul mouth but legit and funny hunter, loved him 😂 Meanwhile, John is the chill guy.... That shows that they've been friends and associates for quite some time.
I love that infra red night shot of all the wallabies with one lone wombat trotting across the field. Wombats are so cool!
A full unedited video of Scott please and thank you. And keep up the great content. One love from beautiful Trinidad and Tobago ❤ 🇹🇹.
Love the accent of the hunter Daddy 😂😂😂and he is hilarious 🤣
1st time i see Sonny Laugh like that. 🤣
This is different side of Tasmania I haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing! THANKYOU Sonny for showing off Tassie in it’s true form! ❤️
I love the sustainability aspect of the work they're doing. I wish that, in America, we would use similar practices instead of just hosing everything down with poison.
Can we please get more episodes with the hunter??
That hunter sniffing opossum's dingle berry and cursing it had me rolling on the floor 😂 and 13:18 best line lmfao 🤣
"I can drop you through that mincer hole in one piece if I wanted to." *I want to go home.*
as a tasmanian i find this to be incredibly awesome, possum is not commonly eaten wallaby though is a lot more common.
"the less you use your meat the softer it gets" hahahahaha kills me!!!!
Man that thermal footage was insane. I've never seen so many animals. That'd be like a hunter's paradise.
I have to believe it's only a matter of time before the government starts allowing foreigners in to hunt them, especially when people hear how good the meat is. Sad that it's another problem caused BY people, just like pythons in the Everglades, and lionfish in the Caribbean.
Ending had me rolling, do bloopers more often!
"Take that you sob!" 😂 i like this guy
By far, these episodes keep getting better and better. I love learning from the characters you meet; absolute video gold.❤
Sonny And The Team...... I Have Looked Forward To Every Video Coming Out For A While Now... This Segment Was GREAT! Sonny, Your Humor Is Unmatched and The Supporting Cast Do Well Complimenting You. Keep It Up!!!
We definitely need another episode with Scott! Dude is hilarious without even trying!
The Springboks are the ultimate Wallaby Terminators! 😂 🇿🇦🦘🏉
No one outside of Aus, SA or NZ is gonna get your joke.
Scott saying he's getting soft is so funny. He's been smokin those possums for so long he's getting weary hahaha
‘The problem with Australians is not that so many of them are descended from convicts but that so many are descended from prison officers.’ Clive James
i love this show and i love sunny and his team they never seem to diss ♥♥♥
So far the best video in this series, that hunter is a legend
Scott is a character... would definitely love to see him again in one of your future videos
So glad you're down here seeing what we have to offer
Sounds like you guys need to reintroduce domestic predators
This guy always delivers never disappoints ❤
The hunter was hilarious! Loved this dude
The Knight King White Walker from the Game of Throne loves the Wallaby's Arms!
I love Aussie humor.
One of my favorite episodes in a while. Fantastic and fascinating!
First time i’ve seen Sonny laugh that hard. Scott is awesome and funny!
We need a whole episode of Scott vs Possum . Hunter is natural he needs a KZhead channel.
Those night vision shots were incredible!!
Loved the lone wombat plodding across the field 🤣
This episode has the one of the most funny - Hilarious BTS / Bloopers I ever viewed on BFRS ...! Cheers 💯💯😂😂😂😂😂😂
Cut to the chef ready to dispense culinary Justice!
I soooo envy what you do Sonny. I cannot imagine how to even get the ball rolling along the path you currently walk let alone getting as far along as you've gotten and, hopefully, you go beyond your wildest expectations.
So stoked to see Tasmania on BEFR !
Another great episode, thank you!
That blooper at the end lol. That is a true blue Aussie!
Thank you for being so fun and entertaining! You have inspired me (a travel advisor) to start my own channel, and i have put out my first 2 (rough around the edges 😂) videos this week!! Thank you ❤❤ ❤
Very entertaining video. I do say it's a great one because of Scott. 😂
Delicious food review I can’t thank you enough for such a well-researched video. Perfect video on the subject.❤
Our Hunter guy has a so likable personality.😂 ❤
The bloopers had me decked 😂
Don't forget there is no top predator in Tasmania since the extinction of the Tasmania Tiger. An ecosystem without top predators causes overpopulation of prey, which in turn causes disease and starvation in prey populations.
Same thing with deer, hares, pheasants, ducks and geese over here in the Netherlands! We do have foxes and martens, and wolves have slowly been reoccupying our country, but there's still a major lack of top predators so the populations of these animals run wild if left to their own devices, simply because they thrive in man-made landscapes.
While I agree with you I'll just point out that the episode is back on the mainland
@@Emielio1 Wolves in the Netherlands? Seriously?
@@redplanet7163 Yep! The first one was spotted a few years ago, and now there are about 30 wolves who call the Netherlands home.
Scott is just so fair dinkum Aussie! Haha
I love how much I learned in this episode. Really fun to watch! Cheers
John is such a sweet guy he so nice i love people like him
Thank you for showing conservation in action.i wish you'd show more, not just with meat but seafood as well. We need to be aware of this more.
Mr Hunter is the guy you can hang out with anytime and his hunting skills man what a mentor
I get so excited to see your next adventure every time. I live in indiana and it can be hard to find different kinds of food. And it's usually not authentic. I love that you show how it gets harvested and prepared I think that is something more people should talk about. This show always has me asking so many questions I enjoy that it's thought provoking
Heck yeah! This is the type a video I expect in Australia. Good on ya Sonny
What they're doing is brilliant! The end product looks delicious too!👍
Sonny never disappoints. Excellent Video.
The perfect episode, great location, delicious food, educational, both guests were fantastic in their own ways, and it was funny af!
Hi guys really enjoying this trip as I have all the others keep em coming x
id love to see more with scott for sure
Love a good Wallaby dish ...I love you had to have subtitles for old mate! True Aussie Ocker!...People from other countries don't understand what a pest these things are..
My favorite line: "A wallaby terminator,...sent back from the future..." This is my absolute favorite YT channel of all time. You, Sonny, are the Willy Wonka of entertainment. There just ain't better than this...
“ I really love the animals” *spots possum* “Where is that wooly lil sh*t, f*kin c**t”
Amazing. When i have been to Oz for the first time, i did not understand folks did not appreciate their game meat like kangaroo. I loved it from the first bite, and on top it was cheap as chips compared to beef or chicken. Probably the cleanest meat ever you can buy. Unfortunately not available here in germany....
