Incredible too see how two lionesses from one pride chase the herd into two males from a different pride. The 4 of them are happy to share the meal, however, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" happened to the buffalo when the lioness from the male's pride comes in and a huge fight breaks out, leaving the buffalo a great opportunity to escape without even a limp.

There's another video (link is included in my comment) of a young lion who, while eating a buffalo that they had just killed, the young lion literally got his head stuck inside the dead buffalo's butt (rectum). Lions always start eating their kill in the more tender parts of the prey's body, like the belly, groin area and the anal area (yuk, lol) because the skin is easier to tear. The young lion at some point stuck it's head up into the buffalo's anal cavity, but couldn't pull its head back out. I was laughing so hard, I cried, lmao. Reportedly, later on, 2 crew members who stayed behind to see what was going to happen, reported that some lions (same pride, most likely) came back later and ate/tore apart more of the buffalo's abdominal/ribcage area and the young lion was able to get out of the buffalo's body that way. One of the Matshapiri males(with the mohawk) died due to injuries/broken foot. The Sparta/Eyrfield pride is down to 2 adult females and 3 cubs (this was a large pride before). The Matshapiri lone lioness has not been spotted by the various game lodges in sabi sands for a while.

Have also wondered that. On paper a group of buffalos banded together ought to pacify any pride of lions but I guess it's just the way nature programmed these creatures and the balance of power is like this today.
They are too instilled with fear.. Like if 5 adults were plaguing/tormenting a child, the other 40-50 kids won't likely stand up for that kid even though they can easily overpower those 5 adults together. It's the uncertainity that maybe the others won't join in, and so nobody dares to take initiative.
