"I know what I want. I know what kind of god I need to be...for you. For all of us."
What an amazing and breathtaking character arc this has been for Loki. From The God of Mischief to The God of Stories, this has been an phenomenal journey for Loki. All he ever wanted was to be a king and sit on his throne and in the end he sacrificed himself for the greater good and sat on his throne. This journey has been just amazing.

    • He didn't become God of stories. He became the MCU version of Atlez and latsr the Atleza the Custodian doing this exact thing. God of stories Loki had infinite power to do anything he wanted instantly. This is NOT the God of Stories.

    • you know what's fascinating? Thor had 4 movies... LOKI was featured but never had his own independent arc movie. yet thor the god of thunder feels like a daily clown in all 4. ( 3 great movies but still a clown somewhat) while Loki takes THE biggest throne in the space. the biggest arc in MCU history and what it took to build? great script and just 12 episodes.

    • @@FireBlueForTheRedSun I see you didn't actually watch the last 3 episodes of Loki lol cuz this Loki 100% does have infinite power it's literally stated 4 times nigga. Also God of stories Loki in the comics cannot do "anything" he has limits, homie isn't the one above all or The one below all. God of stories Loki in the comics became as strong eternity & can manipulate all concepts in the multiverse but there are things outside the multiverse he cannot effect, just like MCU G.O.S Loki. Also keep in mind MCU G.O.S Loki has only been G.O.S. for like 5minutes he's a rookie with the powers he doesn't know how to use them fully. Same thing happened with Thanos in infinity war, homie struggled to break & throw a moon until he got full control over the stones, then he wiped half the universe. The MCU does this alot with rookie gods so relax give em time to cook.👍

I mean it's a character I look up to. "It's the greatest gift we have, to bear their pain without breaking. And it comes from the most human part of us: HOPE." I'd like to get there, because I'm a f...ing empath... It's really hard though. I've used too much empathy on this cold world, I'm overwhelmed and hurt so easily. I'm still looking for this HOPE... So maybe I've found some in a certain Asgardian! Perhaps Loki is a Marvel (not only) character I'm most attached to emotionally ❤💔 Take care, my fellow Loki fans! P.S. Yeah, Tom is phenomenal!

  • It's so wonderful that He Who Remains fell into his own trap. He thought that either Loki takes his throne by killing Sylvie or would try forever and ever to try to solve a problem HWR created and therefore knew that there was no other solution but the one presented. But he didn't take into account that Loki would make a move which contradicts everything people thought about him. He never once believed that Loki could change from the role he gave him, that he could make the ultimate sacrifice for everyone by damning himself to endless solitude. HWR made Loki a villain and had kept him as such for so long that he never once thought there was a possibility for him to be anything but. It's so wonderful that Loki changed the equation by changing the one variable HWR thought a constant: himself. The God of Mischief, who enbodied chaos in such a magnificient way that gave life to a stable Multiverse. In the end, Loki did took over the seat, but on his own terms. He replaced the equation with a new and it is up to the people around to see where it will take them. It's so wonderful, and so incredibely sad that the man who feared loneliness all his life ended up living his greatest fear for all eternity, but for once he *chose* this existence, he took command of his own life and decided what to do with it. Started as a villain, later as an antihero, he is now grown into a hero who could inspire others to follow in his footsteps. He became a stepping stone once again, but this time not as an obstacle to be overtaken, but as someone who took the first step, so many others could follow.

    • Or, this show encapsulates what's so dangerous about Kang. Perspective 1. The multiverse is rapidly going out of control. Time itself is eating itself away, creating pocket dimensions where reality makes no sense. He Who Remains manipulates a group of people, creates an organization, to keep it from falling away. After all, what's the point in ruling if there's nothing to rule over... But that was just a small step in his overreaching plan. You see, He Who Remains is a constant. Every variant of himself is the exact same. They all seek to rule. But, in order to rule, he needs another constant. Something to keep the universe in check. You can think the TVA was that, the shears to clip away at an endlessly branching timeline, but no. That was just an illusion. What he needed was someone else to sit at the throne at the end of time to keep it all in place. What he needed was someone so desperate for affection, for family, that when forced to make a decision to protect a family, they'd do it. He needed Loki. In the end, when everyone believes that He Who Remains lost, the truth is just the opposite. He no longer needs to maintain the multiversal timeline. Someone else is doing that. He now has exactly what he needed. Freedom to take over and rule the multiverse. This wasn't Lokis story of changing and becoming better. This was Loki fulfilling the designed plan that He Who Remains orchestrated from the very beginning. This... was simply Loki proving that he truly never had freedom. What a befitting end for the God of Lies to be fooled to his very end.

      @MrGamis@MrGamis5 ай бұрын
    • @@MrGamis That's an amazing take and I admit I never thought of it like that. But maybe Loki being the new He Who Remains will help the new Avengers in fighting the Kang variants by giving them perspective and knowledge about the Kangs. I think this last episode and especially the conversation with Sylvie was about chance. For them to have the chance to fight Kang, to see if it'll be different this time, to see whether they can keep free will or not. Loki gave them the chance to change things, to change fate and if he hadn't, then HWR won without a doubt. Now it's not decided yet. War is coming, the TVA knows it, but how it will end remains to be seen. I'm curious to see what Marvel does with this storyline, however even if HWR truly won in the end and the Kang variants manage to conquer the multiverse again, Loki's character arc is a golden piece of art and something I'll always be proud for having the opportunity to watch it play out.

    • Loki basically went through the same apotheosis that Tony Stark did. He thought he was a monster & he did monstrous things. But he was never just the God of Mischief. He was the God of Change. He could think outside the box in ways that He Who Remains couldn’t. Kang never considered the possibility that a Loki would be willing to sacrifice his own freedom for others. That was his undoing.

  • He wanted the throne because he wanted to be acknowledged. Validation and company was all that he needed thinking that a seat of power was what he wanted. At the end of the series, he realizes that all he ever wanted was people to be with but what he really needed was a seat of power at the end of time, away from what he considered his family. He was so afraid of being alone and being abandoned but he overcame that after centuries of time-slipping. In the end, he chose what was best for his loved ones, a selfless sacrifice. He will be alone but he is not afraid anymore knowing that his friends will be safe in his hands. As Mobius said, most purpose is more burden than glory and that there is no comfort nor solace--just pick your own burden. For him, the burden was the throne at the end of time--forever alone. He never wanted it, but that was what he needed to do to preserve his wants--to assure his friends their future. He literally gave the world to them to write their own stories just as he did his. He has found his glorious purpose

  • There's something so incredibly "Loki" about the way this ended. He was selfless because he was selfish (he wanted his friends back), he got his throne and rule even though he didn't want it at the end, and he did both "win" and "lose" at the end. He broke the loom and created a stable way for everyone to be happy, but he'll never be able to be happy with them. Not to mention, Odin saying "your destiny was to die" really calls Loki's multiple false deaths to mind. Was there some part of him that was like "Yeah, tried dying. Still alive. Is that destiny fulfilled now? What's next?" This edit was beautiful, by the way. Made me stop and think about his story, who he really is.

It's because loki is his enemy, loki was born to be the only one capable of holding time, but HWR aka Kahn wanted to control time. Now that Loki has control again(this isn't the first time) the timeliness are able to grow again, with life love and chaos

  • “Everyone fails at who they’re suppose to be…The measure of a person, of a hero is how well they succeed at being who they are.” - Frigga Loki truly succeeded in his story arc. Going from selfish villain to selfless hero. After having spent centuries surrounded by his friends in time loops, he realized in order for their lives to continue, he needed to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to keep them safe: being alone in isolation. That is Loki’s burden. His Glorious Purpose however.. is that he ultimately gets the one thing he’s always wanted: A Throne of His Own. He not only is looking after the remaining timeline branches, he’s looking out for the whole world. The Sacred Timeline (MCU) included. This transforming him into The World Tree that Thor explains to Jane in the first film. His arc is the only arc aside from Stark’s and Roger’s that came full circle. In my opinion, Loki is my favorite MCU character. This show has made me realize that. Best MCU show on Disney+. Definitely giving this one a rewatch.

  • Loki's growth throughout the MCU has been truly remarkable, and the culmination of his character arc in season 2, episode 6 was an absolute masterpiece. Tom Hiddleston's performance as Loki has been nothing short of exceptional, and the way his character has evolved and developed over the course of the MCU is truly captivating. From his introduction as a mischievous and self-serving villain in "Thor" to his transformation into a complex anti-hero in "The Avengers," Loki has undergone a tremendous journey of self-discovery and redemption. We've witnessed his struggles with his identity, his desire for power, and his complicated relationship with his family, especially his brother Thor. The ending of season 2, episode 6 brilliantly encapsulates the culmination of Loki's growth. It serves as a culmination of his journey, where he finally embraces his "glorious purpose" in a way that is both satisfying and emotionally resonant. The episode not only showcases Hiddleston's incredible acting range but also provides a fitting resolution to Loki's character arc. Throughout the episode, we see Loki confront his inner demons, face his fears, and make difficult choices that ultimately lead to personal growth. His journey has been filled with setbacks and heartbreak, but it is through these challenges that he has been able to find his true purpose and become a hero in his own right.

  • 4:34 this is great story telling foreshadowing that it is infact Loki that took them from the sacred timeline to build the TVA Also all of the terminology references forms of gardening and I think is hinting at the yggdrasil world tree being the best form for the timelines. Pruning = cutting dead branches Loom/Loam = types of soil….clay loams are very heavy and slow to work with whereas sandy loams drain nutrients very quickly Also Various TVA posters depict cutting trees and growth.
