He does overreact but it's hilarious, though, because "Frosty" the song Literally goes: ....with a corncob pipe, and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal....Whatever is in that pipe is left to a child's imagination. I, as a child that made snowmen that looked just like Frosty, there was nothing in that pipe. 😂 Dr. Mike's just so much younger than me. I think my daughter is older than he.

    @emmetstone1660@emmetstone16605 ай бұрын
  • Dear Dr. Mike, That is not a cigar, it’s a pipe. This snowman is based on the Victorian version of a snowman. They were made by children playing outside in the snowy winter. To finish it off, kids would use stuff that was readily available i.e.: pieces of coal, which would have been small lumps of coal from the kitchen stove, fireplace or furnace. Traditionally, when a snowman is finished one would use lumps of coal for the eyes and mouth, a carrot for the nose, a scarf around the neck and yes an old pipe that would have been have been used by their father when pipe smoking was more popular, available and prevalent than cigarettes. Oh yes, and top hats were the common attire at one time and so many households had a top hat lying around. Commonly a corn cob pipe was used if not, your dad’s or grandfather’s old pipe. When I was young our house was heated with a coal furnace in the cellar and we used coal in our fireplace. Branches were used as arms with the twigs at the ends representing fingers.

  • Well, the Grinch's heart did start out 2 sizes too small. Is having an undersized heart a biologically possible medical condition? If his heart only grew 2 sizes and not 3, would that have cured him of something, improved some symptoms?

    @whatsanenigma@whatsanenigma5 ай бұрын
    • One of my friends actually has an undersized heart, so yes it is possible. I'm not 100% sure about the second question, but I think it would improve the symptoms. - A person with cardiomyopathy and heart arrhythmia. (PVCs)

    • @@BennyFireKing I may be misremembering the scenario. I remember the Grinch eating a feat with cindy lou in the 2D animation then the narrator saying this is the last time, something after that I cannot remember. Recalling those sounds doesn't give words, but it was the end of the movie. Then I remember someone reacting to it saying that it is accurate because he died before having another Christmas. Or after this Christmas. Forgive me, I have lost the ability to visually recall memories for a long time now. I'm only 23 and losing mental senses I used to have and enjoy like remembering how things felt, smelled, tasted and sounded. It all got replaced my a sense of presence or existence.

      @ryu_798@ryu_7985 ай бұрын
    • This really sounds like you are crossing the Grinch with A Christmas Carol. In that, Christmas Present tells Scrooge that he sees a vacant seat and a crutch without an owner, foreshadowing Tiny Tims' death. Scrooge asks that he be spared and Present tells him "If these shadows remain unaltered by the future, none other of my race will find him here". His "race" is Christmas Presents. He is born at midnight and dies at midnight. He says he has "over 1800" siblings, of which he is the youngest. If taken literally, no other Christmas Present will find Tiny Tim alive. I could be totally wrong, but there is no mention of the Grinch dying, and your description of not living to see another Christmas fits the other so well.@@ryu_798

I also loved the rhymes and they just slipped off my tongue giving me as much joy as my students! I am retired after teaching elementary school for 30 years.

  • Getting your feet cut up is very painful, but thankfully feet do heal fast. A dog ate my sandals at a sleepover once and I had to walk across town on hot chipseal and asphalt barefoot. When I got home, my dad dug all the gravel and debris out of my blistered feet with a pocket knife and I got yelled at every time I twitched. Luckily, they never got infected and I was walking normally within a couple of days, but I will never forget it.

So we paid and opened it and her tongue got stuck to it, and me being me I was on the ground laughing my lungs out. I had to take her to the washroom after I was finished laughing and put tap water on it for it to come out. OMG! I miss her so much, we had some great fun shifts together. ❤❤❤

Heavy smokers clothing will cause wheezing. & YES before smoking was banned in clubs & restaurants I LIVED on antihistamines & inhalers.

  • If you ever find yourself in a situation where you're barefoot (or in socks) and you have to walk across a floor of broken glass, do the "stingray shuffle"; find a clear path to place your feet, then slide your feet across the floor without lifting them, gently brushing aside shards of glass when necessary. That way you can get to safety without seriously wounding yourself in the process. Fun fact: it's called the "stingray shuffle" because that is the same way to avoid stepping on stingrays when walking in shallow waters on the beach (by shuffling your feet in short strides along the sea floor as they kick up the sand underwater). The vibrations in the sand also help to let stingrays nearby know your presence and take caution.
