It’s the holiday season so I wanted to react to some of my favorite Christmas movies, Home Alone 1 and 2. I saw DistractifyYT brought on several doctors to react to the injuries in these movies several years ago, so props to them for the idea! In taking my crack at it, I discuss all sorts of traumatic injuries suffered by Harry and Marv, such as concussions, burns, testicular torsion, slips, falls, and the all-too-common holiday injury of an iron smashing your face. Oh, and nails in your foot. And bricks hitting your skull! Ouch… enjoy!
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

  • I’ve always wondered why they never gave up. The amount of punishment and trauma Kevin was dishing out was borderline lethal and only intensified as they got further into the house. The hospital costs alone wasn’t going to be covered by whatever they were trying to burglarize.

    • It was basically their only source of income and their way of living so they can't really give up that much, and once they were in the house, they were then motivated to get revenge on Kevin, so they kept going mainly for Kevin and not for the valuable objects in the house.

  • 01:25 I experienced a similar (but not identical) situation when I was small. My twin sister and I were trying to reach a plastic elephant figurine (one of my then-favorite toys) which was placed atop our dresser (which I still use to this day). We pulled the drawers partway out to use as stairs and began to climb. The dresser tipped over and landed on the fully-extended bottom drawer which became wedged in its slot, preventing the dresser from falling any further. We could have died that day. There’s another story of me playing around on furniture and almost offing myself with a CRT TV to the face, but that’s for another time.

If you reach and grasp "normally" and it has a live current, that will cause the muscles in your hand to contract, preventing you from letting go, so use the back of your hand if you have "test."

This nurse is the reason I would not go to the nurse for 3 years after I left elementary school. She rarely believed me when I had horrendous headaches, she was awful to me specifically, I saw how she acted around other kids. • I grew up watching Home Alone with my family every Thanksgiving. When I was a kid it was hilarious! Now, as an adult I can laugh at it, but my reactions are more like Dr Mike's. Bricks to the face? Bricks to the face from a ROOFTOP?? Yeah, that guy would definitely be dead. I often wondered what a doctor would say about the injuries these two bandits sustained, and how much damage would be done to their bodies, so this was a really fun and interesting video! Thanks for doing it, Dr. Mike!

  • The way Marv was electrocuted isn't just painful; it's incredibly dangerous too. Electricity always chooses the path of least resistance. Holding onto it like that, he'd have current sent through his heart which can not only negatively affect the pulse but also cause internal burns on the heart and other organs, not to mention if the current is strong enough you're not gonna get electrocuted; you're just gonna get exploded and suffer massive burns. If you should come across someone obviously being electrocuted, for the love of your health, do not touch them! You become part of the circuit unless properly insulated against it! Report it if you have the possibility but of course try to help them. If you're wearing a boilersuit what you can do is take it off and snag it around their body and pull them away, or, and I'm not joking: take a running speed and tackle them with your shoulder. Source: I'm a marine engineer. We have mandatory coursing in this every year. Death by electrocution is a leading cause of death in my field. If you find yourself suffer a serious electrocution, contact medical assistance. Many internal electrocution damage symptoms do not arise until hours later and it could be too late then.

I was playing soccer when the ball hit my stomach and I could only inhale deeper and deeper until I felt like my lungs were going to burst. Is that another form of the same thing or is it viewed as something medically different?

Because of the fact that it’s a big heavy metal can with extra force because the kid threw it over the railing, it actually ends up caving his face in and killing him.

  • Home Alone was pretty much like torture of the bad guys without killing them. Home Alone 2 was more like how are these guys not dead? Especially that scene where Marv gets electrocuted, how could anyone survive that? I'm also amazed that Marv didn't become blind from that falling iron, never mind that he shouldn't have survived being hit by four bricks or when they both got hit by paint cans and fell down the stairs. They should have been paralyzed or dead by the end of the movie. The way they had Harry and Marv always get back up like nothing happened is what made the movie so humorous, though.
