  • I start playing and enjoying this game until 800 Elo. I don't know why I start losing like 8-9 games in a row until I decided to... You know ask for Stockfish's help. I did that for 3-4 weeks and - thanks to youtube algorythms- I found your channel and start watching your cheaters videos. I really felt bad and stupid. After that, I deleted my account, start a new one and never cheated again. I'm enjoying every game I play now, happy when I win and learning from my mistakes when I lose, thank you. To be honest, I was cheating because losing at chess games made me feel dump and it hurts my ego. I will never thank you enough for making me understand that it's normal to lose and learn. P. S. Then got to 1100-1200 watching this channel and actually learning a dozen openings. You wouldn't believe how many games I won just buy playing a very good opening gaining little to huge advantage resulting with my oponent resigning. You didn't actually needed to delete your accound just stop cheating. You will lose a lot and eventually get back to your real elo.

  • you know, Levy pointing out that cheaters before they started cheating were attempting to make up their own openings reminds me of quite a few people I've attempted to teach in the past. And the prevailing thing I hear from people is that they don't want to play the same things everyone else plays because they want to play the game instead of just following a meta. And I can't get them to understand that the opening is just the framework of your game, you are not going to play the exact same game that other people play because every game is going to be different. Especially at the beginner level. It's like this stubborn decision that they are going to figure out chess on their own without another person telling them how. Like, I could see some of the people I'm thinking of in my head cheating because they are too prideful to admit to a human that they need help. It's wild to me.

    • Absolutely correct! One dominant thing about cheaters is that they are proud. They play stupid moves, and as soon as they start getting owned, they switch to the engine to redeem their pride. Very salty and jejune beings.

    • The way I would put it is, a chess opening is equivalent to turning on your car and backing out of the parking space. You cannot get to the interesting part of chess until you get your pieces out on the board in a position that gives you some actually good options for movement.

      @grunt9950@grunt99506 ай бұрын
    • @@grunt9950 chess is largely about pattern recognition, but to say it is only that is what is pure delusion. That disregards positional understanding and opening preparation, two very important aspects of chess. Most beginners would do well with just remembering and adhering to good opening principle, I.E. pawns in the center, develop your pieces, castle. I was talking about people not even following those concepts because they want to be different. You need a basis when you learn to play any game, you can't ignore the basics and do your own thing and expect success.

  • 4:19 What gets me about the pawn trident is that the cheater has stumbled arse-backwards into a setup that is just a couple of moves away from being a legit opening. Add Nc3, g3, Nge2, and Bg2, and you've got the Botvinnik English (and weird move orders are very much known to theory for that setup, albeit not this 1. c4, 2. d3, 3. e4 nonsense, as far as I know).
