This scene always felt very Hotline Miami style. Just walking in a building and having your 6th sense tell you exactly where the enemies are.
Looool fr man I love hlm
I thought the same, specially considering that Mike is quite similar to the Henchman.
Yeah but some parts were a little far fetched, like when he threw the shoe down the hallway and the guy just comes running out firing his gun and screaming…..
2:55 That guy who came out screaming and shooting truly believed he was the hero of this story
He was just trying the old “Run towards every noise and shoot at thin air” maneuver.
It reminds me of in Die Hard With a Vengeance when the security guard tries to ambush Simon and his crew only to get cut to shreds. 😂 “I think he’s dead, my dear.”
@@justinguyos5476 HA, FACE TO FOOT STYLE, HOW'D YOU LIKE IT?!
that part ruined this scene for me because it was so dumb. What was his plan exactly? run in a straight line at nothing and yell while shooting at nothing?
@@justinguyos5476 Typical open world NPC behavior. Was that a rock being thrown off in the distance?
4:16 If anyone's wondering what the lady said. *_"Of course I'm still here! Where the hell else would i go? What the hell are you guys doing? I gotta get home and take care of my kids. My husband's worried. There are two dead men outside."_*
She basically said *"Yes,"* but in _Chinese_ culture.
LOL I love it, thank you!
Nothing about the Camry? Thanks so much for the translation!
Thank you
You missed “you didn’t pay me enough for this”
2:46 This is the moment Vince Gilligan became Quentin Tarantino
Better than the second option...John Woo.
I think both directors would be proud of thier respective influences to this scene
I love how we get to see a wholesome moment of Mike and Kaylee before the transition to the warehouse. In addition to revealing the purpose of the balloons to the audience, it also showed that a loving grandfather and a badass grandfather can very well be the same person
Mikes right. Youre never too old for balloons.
I love how just over it he is after the last kill, "Chao you got something you wanna tell me?" Lol its like the perfect Mike moment, just doing a job and being sick of peoples bullshit
I love how all the enemies leave their secure positions. How thoughtful of them
Bravo vince
Except the last guy
They were told that Gus only has one real enforcer and that he would show up alone so as hired guns, they went all out for the reward thinking it was an easy old man.
Love how neither of the first two assassins pointed their guns at Mike's direction after they heard his gun and didn't even try to shoot him in the two seconds when he popped out
It’s funny to me how shows and movies always have guns make a clicking sound, when in reality no gun anywhere makes noise when you move it around and point it places
It's a TV show. If they wanted to make things as real as possible, they'd hire someone with experience. But they don't need to. They just need to make it interesting. So the flashy kills and the unnecessary noises are just part of the entertainment.
For those wondering the music is from the Beastie Boys called “ Shambala” it’s on the ill communication album. I knew I heard this song somewhere.
Right before Bodhisattva Vow :)
@@KidPersepolisgreat album!
It seems like music that would play in a stealth/action video game.
"She's gonna need her shoe."
*"Of course I'm still here! Where the hell else would i go? What the hell are you guys doing? I gotta get home and take care of my kids. My husband's worried. There are two dead men outside."*
It's a very special place in my heart that the Beastie Boy's instrumental album lives in.
I always wondered if Mike's daughter and granddaughter ever knew that he died or if he just "disappeared
His daughter absolutely had to know, especially hearing the truth about her husband and his death in BCS. Granddaughter probably learned some time after she grew up, which I imagine she had a good rest of her childhood after the end of the series signaled how much the drug problem had been cleaned up in Albuquerque
That wasn’t his daughter that was his son’s girlfriend

They are voices of Tibetan monks (sub harmonic throat singing). those from Mongolia (Tuvan people) are overtone singing.
This wasn't a fight just an excution.
she says yes
That "Shaft" music near the beginning of this made sense since Mike is a bad mother---
Shut your mouth! 😄
I could watch Mike do even the most mundane shit for hours.
Imagine if the building had a backup generator...
Mike is the most badass character in BCS 😀
Gotta love that Mark 23 SOCOM pistol.
What I love about Mike is his combination of kindness, peace and pragmatism, brutality.

4:15 What does she say here?
she said "yes"
@@jakub2631 Oh okay, thanks!

Mike with a MK.23 and proper suppressor is just driptastic
The music is actually Bodhisattva Vow by the Beastie Boys
Could someone explain why Mike shot Chow in the hand? Chow couldn't call Mike or give him the chemicals because his warehouse had been taken over by armed men, and Mike knows it.
Probably to make sure he gets taken to the hospital? Or a punishment for not answering?
It's because Chow is established to be the least trustworthy amongst the contacts known as "Mike's Guys". The most likely to fold.
How does the guy leaning against the wall not suspect anything suspicious is going on when Chow raises his hands up and down and is clearly making eye contact with someone? I mean maybe he is just dumb or the choreography is just for TV, but you gotta figure there would be a more subtle way to signal Mike has the gun in the right place. Like stare wide eyed in fear and then blink when he has it right
I think he wasn't really paying attention, he looked like he was trying to listen
Why are you complaining? It's a TV show. Besides that, the guy was probably more worried about the assassin killing him, rather than a pair of hands who subtly move up and down...
@@theforce5191 it’s a question not a complaint. Also if you’re life is on the line it’s natural to be hyper vigilant. The guy seemed like he was just chilling there oblivious
@@setbyyah5637 my bad man. I didn't mean to say it was a complaint. And yeah, he did look like he was taking a smoke break, lol. Chalk it up to bad acting I guess, lol.
@@theforce5191all good; or good acting of survival of the fittest. Just because the guy has a gun doesn't mean he's smart lol
Thank you sir for speaking the truth and what 99.9% of the planet thinks
That lady shouting back in Cantonese lol…
2:55 from the angle we see the thug running and shooting when baited by Mike, it appears he's blinded by the dark, but when the camera switches to Mike's angle, it is possible to see there's no one there (until of course Mike enters the corridor). Not sure who hired these thugs, but they're kind of dumb, lol.
after watching bcs, i feel like mike was a little too important to be put in such a risky scenario
How mike was able to figure about horizontal axis of wall ?
Mike should've started speaking shouting in _Chinese_ like he spoke German once.
Great scene and great music! Beastie Boys always have a special place in my heart...
you know good job to Mike on a job well done but why the fuck did he need to take that lady's shoe off? He's in an office there's gotta be a stapler somewhere
True, most likely because it's a TV show,
Likely part of the Tarantino homage aspect
I have no idea, maybe a shoe sound would be more ideal than any other random object, because it sounds more like that someone lost their footing?
0:10 me when she says no head

Thank god you're here
Kaylee: you’re too old for balloons! Mike: nuh uh Kaylee: tf you mean “nuh uh”?!
Cool to know that Mike has a foot fetish, truly a relatable character.
What if the balloons missed the wires? Then what?
He guided them

That security cam system has no battery backup? And people don't often fall down like that with just 1 bullet.

is that .50 calibre? It went through 2 guys like nothing. is it applicable in real life?
45
.45s. They are pistol rounds. If he's using FMJs, it's quite realistic that he'd be able to go through both of them.
@@nicholasdominguez3952 Given that Mike was an excop, I'd wager he had hollow points. However, you could say he was using ammo with more controlled expansion to them like XTP, Nosler, Winchester SXT, or Federal Bonded HPs (which it's entirely possible an older retired cop would be using that exact ammo in 2010). Alternatively, given his background of doing this, combined with the fact that Mike was going for stealth. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities to say he would use heavier hard cast ammo in the gun. Even though .45 ACP is already inherently subsonic, you can make it quieter with heavier ammo. Hard cast would be even better for penetrating through multiple bodies since regular FMJ can still get deformed from something like impacting bone.
@@bebop_557 I believe he was ex-military as well as he had served in Vietnam...
@@GordiansKnotHere For some reason KZhead didn't notify me of this response. I believe it was indicated that Mike went to sniper school while he was in the service, so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities either to say he was SOF. Especially given how tight lipped Mike was about his background. I believe the only indication in the show of his military background is his familiarity with the Marine sniper rifle. Which absolutely would put him into the SOF category since a lot of what Mike does re: elminating high value targets, CQB, RECCE, etc is pretty accurate for both Recon Marines and Marine Raiders, both of which can go to sniper school for specialization. Given the time when he served, Raider is probably more accurate. (The Raiders were disbanded after Vietnam and restarted during OIF, drawing from a bunch of Recon Marines to fill the ranks. So Mike being an older guy who's been out of the military game for a while, it wouldn't be any question if he said he was a Raider since they would have been a thing while he was in the service. This is just my speculation though.)
