Hank pulled off easily the best acting, being the DEA while not having a gun and being in constant panic is amazing
Dean Norris gave the performance of his life. I think he doesn't get enough credit for all of the mannerisms and layers he gives to Hank to make him feel like a real person. The way he calls Gomez and keeps his macho persona up while he's unsteady with his breathing and trying to fight off panic seems so real. It's interesting that Hank thinks that it is a prank call, but is still scared af. His body took it more seriously than his mind.
"think positive"
Then you painfully watch his mind catch up, slowly. Intense
That's his police instinct kicking in. You can tell around 30 seconds in he's thinking, "was that a prank?"/That wasn't a prank." Even if you're an average joe civilian, a cryptic phone call warning you that your about to be killed would make anyone morbidly nervous.
Anybody should take a threat like that with some seriousness.
In the back of his head, he knew it wasn't a prank. It was a "just in case it is I can still save face." It's why he told gomey to call as soon as he got the message. He knew something was about to go down.
The desperation of hank to load the bullet into the gun is one of the most edge of your seat, intense scenes in tv history
My first thought was "why doesn't hank drive away?" Guessing because his cop instinct kicks in and realizes that even if he escapes if there are people trying to kill him they will keep coming after him and his family until they succeed, so he decides to take them head on having the advantage of knowing they are coming.
He was told he had one minute before they showed up, and he wasted part of that minute not taking the call seriously. By the time he did take it seriously he was already looking around the parking lot making sure they weren't already there. By that point he would have left himself too vulnerable just by backing out of the parking space and leaving himself open on all sides.
Imagine how efficient the Salamanca Twins would be if they actually aim.

The Twins were the dumbest assassins! They were willing to kill Waltuh in his house, but decided to kill a cop OUTSIDE station in a public parking space...
For real lol The method they were going to kill Walter was at least in a professional assassin like behavior, killing him in a vulnerable position of being completely alone, relaxed and taking a shower. With only one door to come out. The thing with Hank was the complete opposite, Hank could of had a spare gun in his truck, one of the many bystanders could of yelled the moment one of the twins pulled out the gun alerting Hank. Witnesses and property damage out the wazoo. Also shooting him from behind the truck was so stupid and not even a clear shot. Wasted so many bullets with that part alone.

Next to Oxymandias this scene makes my hairs stand up every time. Puts you on edge lol
The fact that the guy that sold the twins the vest gave the guy a bullet which in the end saved Hank is incredible
when he drops the bullet the suspense gets really intense
It still surprises me he didn’t have a gun in the car I know he had his service pistol taken but I find it hard to believe he wouldn’t have a personal weapon it’s New Mexico after all most people have a more then just a pistol that lives in there cars
He probably did not feel the need to have a personal weapon being many many years in the police force. It was always provided to him. And this was like 1 day (or maybe even the same day) after his suspension, so he would not get time to get a new gun.

I`m an excop, a veteran, ex bouncer and a PI since 1990. This is totally authentic plus pure genius. Hank at his best. The only really good guy in BB who easily could have switched sides, based on his talents. Dean Norris is in a very rare class of actors.
Hello Mike
Ooooops :)@@Toven_WaveWatcherFi
I think he was protected from above, and this is why this show is so amazing that reality sometimes is stranger than fiction ⚠️ If you watched the previous episodes, you will know the story of the bullet that penetrated the second brother’s skull *with the first brother’s gun*. Now this is beyond conception 😮.
Normal person: Drive off Hank: Scouting to see if killers approaching are real or not
0:21 The clock says 3:07. This clip is from the episode “One Minute” which was the 7th episode of the 3rd season. Vravo Bince!!!
3:53 is what ruined everything. If he'd done the job, then the tread lightly thing wouldn't have happened.
Plot armor through the roof!

Wrong. If Hank never backed the car into the other twin and injured him, they would have just regarded him as just another hit. All business, nothing personal. But as soon as he hurt his twin brother, this went from an 'ordinary hit', to 'it's personal'. Hank having the quick-wit to take one of them out put the other brother in an emotional state that caused him to get sloppy and want 'revenge', ie, make it hurt more than just a bullet. Not plot armor. Hank literally hurt his family member, and he wanted Hank to hurt just as much, if not more.
