In 2011, a young Czech dared to follow in the footsteps of her tennis hero, stepping out as a Wimbledon finalist just five years after discovering she was quite good at tennis. Opting to do all the talking with her racquet, Wimbledon was where it all started for a relatively unknown, Petra Kvitova, but there was much more to come...
Ten years on and Kvitova is beloved by tennis, not simply for her dominant displays on court, but the way she has overcome all the odds off it, too. A horrendous incident that almost robbed Petra of her life, and very nearly ended her career, tested her metal in a way that Grand Slam finals never could.

#Wimbledon
30 WTA titles now, including 2x Wimbledons, WTA Finals, Elite Trophy and 9x WTA1000. A living legend
It’s unbelievable with all these titles, she isn’t even a #1 ranked player
We cannot demand a consistency from most of female player on tour. In summary, she had an oustanding career hightlighted by 2 Wimbledon and near 30 titles (counting). Remember, not many player on WTA tour can reach higher than her in their career. Outside career, she built herself a lovely and great person over a decade, she has put tennis world closer and closer, she should awarded the best things, the best respect for all what she did in these years. Always love Petra ❤
Yeah and winning 30 titles, itself is an achievement
Watched that 2 finals and she was very dominant in both of them. A grass court masterclass. Big hitting and very precise
Petra’s an amazing inspiration to tennis players and fans throughout the world. She’s a champion, but she’s also respected and loved on the tour. She’s had to overcome so much to come back. I’m a fan 🎾💚
Same! I became a fan after reading her story of getting attacked and almost not playing tennis again. Man, what a comeback she made.
I didn’t really know about Petra’s story ...wow she’s truly remarkable 💪🏼💪🏼
Goodness gracious! I am a huge Petra fan, but this rewind career clip just reaffirmed it even more. Amazing career and tennis champion.
just won a masters 1000. what a come back
My favorite! One of the nicest too
This is exactly the content we needed before the Sloane match. I’m ready.
I started enjoying tennis when I was 11. Petra wasn’t one of my favorites back then but she surely was one of the players that gave me fear when facing my favorite ones :). After watching her in Wimbledon finals ,her comeback from that terrible incident and her kind soul on and off the court ,she really grew up on me. She is now the only player that I follow up on WTA tour and would love to see her holding many trophies through rest of her career 🤍
She can not be the best but she is loved the most, she is deserved to be awarded all respects from around the world by everything she did as a great person, great athlete
Love the way she always battles.Even from 2 breaks down she never gives up
Love her always🥰
Such a shame she lost in 1st round this year, but she´ll come back for sure.
shes 33 now and many players dont come back after getting 30
Damn Wimbledon is spoiling us with some good videos!!! not like Roland Garros...

I hope Kvitova will go far this year ❤️

Love u Petra 💪🏻
she's such an amazing underdog
Her smile ❤️ , come back stronger Petra 😊
Whats also not mentioned here is that Kvitova won WTA Finals and she was part of the winning team in Fed Cup (6 times) and Hopman cup.
Yes, Wimbledon is finally back! Who will win the gentlemen singles?
Nole
@Sk8FraSch lol what?? Pre 2003 nobody won consecutive GS except sampras. Federer and djokovic showed what is consistency
@Sk8FraSch I answered above person's comment who says current tennis is boeing
She has a beautiful friendship with Ka. Pliskova
huh?
love her , she could have achieved more IF IF wasn't for that attack that i start thinking on Monica Seles when she was attacked by a man with a knife affecting her tennis career , same thing happened to Petra , compromising her left hand kinda weird that she was targeted by some other tennis fan or a tennis player hidden behind this attack , both ,Seles and Petra came back successfully but with traumas and were not the same since then . FBI should have investigated deeper on her case
2021 out first round

Yesterday 28 of June 2021 Petra Kvitova at Wimbledon went Out first round . Disappoint😖
Who is your father in tennis court i can not identified petro this is your boyfriend tell your father sorry petro sibling correct mean sisters ok
aaaannd she's gone.
Petra was dominant, but Maria was hardly playing her best. It was her first slam final since her come back, and her serve was still very fragile. Maria was much better player in 2012.
Oh yes , this is exactly what this video is about:) no matter maria's level was doesn't change the message given here imho
I cannot believe it was 10 years ago, I still remember how Sharapova struggled to comeback at her peak after her shoulder’s injury. This match marked her return to become a contender again at grandslam. I was sitting at the sofa to cheer for her that day, but Kvitova outplayed her on every part of the games. I was 13 at that time, now I’m 23 lol
