Absolutely. My wife wanted the SC430 so I picked one of those up for her. By far her favorite car yet.
How much did you end up getting it for ?
Although the GS is Lexus's mid-tier line-up, the car has presence and isn't diminutive in appearance. Even in 2022, the GS still has beautiful lines. The particular color for this car is unique as well.

Great review! proud Lexus owner here and I can say that nothing beats the quality build and long term performance of my 2005 ES330!!! Amazing car!
My sister bought a 2006 Lexus IS350 and you can tell they built Lexus cars with high quality in mind. Even the doors feel nice when you close them, and the way the car handles feels real nice as well. Now I’m looking to get one of these gs350’s since they are bigger than the IS models, and I also like the look of them as well, plus they’re quick too.

I have a 2008 Black and Tan GS350. It’s my second. My first one was identical just ended up getting totaled. Bought another. And will probably stick to the Lexus Brand for the rest of my life. I’ve had almost all Makes you can get in the US. Nothing treats you quite like a Lexus. The quietness is unmatched as well. No, not all makes are reliable if you do maintenance as asked. That’s a myth. Lexus has more cars over 1,000,000 miles than any other make. Reason for that. Lol. Cheers guys.
I just came across this channel because I absolutely cannot get enough of the Lexus GS 350 material on KZhead. I myself own a Lexus GS 350 2013 AWD, and it has been very good to me. I am rather pleased to see a vehicle that shares relatively the same engine as mine, still ticking away at almost 300K. Your engine sounds exactly like mine and I am just turning into 100K. Very impressive, these motors just keep on giving. With the kind of mileage you have, I would suggest spraying some ATP 205 re-seal on all of your chassis bushings to prolong the life of those suspension and CV -Axle rubber. You will thank me later. All in all I love the car, the money green exterior color, and the beige interior. Thank you for sharing and please continue to take care of it. PS: Get a Borla Exhaust on that bad boy. :-)
Thank You. I keep looking at the 4th gens like yours and while I love the upgraded features and body styling I can’t seem to part with mine but when mine finally gives up I probably will.

11:20 there a separate button for it next to the mirror folding button. Love this car, looks better than the next gen I'd say, except the dash looks modern on the new one. Otherwise from the door cards, to the seats, esp the seats, they looks better on this gen.

From the engine sound , it needs valves adjustment , but it still a great choice to a great ride.
I had the same car. Mine had Mark Levinson system and I could play DVD movies on it while drive with the bypass kit. It had movie theatre sounds! I then got an LS460 and that was another level. I wished I kept my Gs350 since it has aged better and maintenance costs were far less

Does your motor burn oil? And did you get the vvti cam gears replaced? I am looking into one and it had the gears changed, was wondering if it’s a big issue with the year
When I bought my car it had 245k miles on it and it needed just under a quart added between oil changes. This is well within the stated specs in the owners manual. Regardless, I do my own oil changes so I tried several oil brands. All full synthetic and all 5W-30. All gave me the same results, even Mobile One. I finally tried Royal Purple and I have not had to add oil between oil changes in over 20k miles. I currently have over 287k miles on the car in the video and it looks and runs like new. Most of the oil burning on the 3rd gen GS was with the 2006 GS300.

I’m sorry to say that 06 was the worst year for the GS. At least here in America the 06 was the GS300 and the 3.0L V6 was one of, if not , the worst motors that Toyota ever made. Also, if you can’t find an 07 for $10k or less I would pass. I’ve seen clean 06s go for under $6k and I would not even pay that.
Josh, keep looking if you did not buy it. Look for a 2007 or newer model. They did a refresh in 2007. I bought a 2008 with 97k miles, one owner, all service records for 10k about a year and a half ago. It’s been a great car. I have not had a single thing go wrong. Good luck !

I currently have a little over 305,000 miles. Since the video I have had no issues. Only just changed out the alternator but that’s easy and the part was free because it had a lifetime warranty. It still runs and looks like new. I am actually on a 1,000 mile road trip right now.

Oil and filter every 5k miles. Check other fluids like brake fluid and coolant every month. If they are dirty do a drain and fill. Other than that brake pads and rotors. That’s it.
Hi Alfred thats a great looking GS! I'm headed from Iowa down to Arkansas to pick up a very clean and well documented 09 dressed in black sapphire pearl. Its got 200k on the clock but super clean and older woman driven. Have you done a transmission drain and refill with new filter at all? Just curious as to your thoughts on the "sealed" transmissions. Not even a dipstick to check the condition of the transmission fluid unfortunately. Your video helped me to pull the trigger on that 09
@@blubayourcn55 funny that you should ask that. I had it at a shop recently for a check up on my shocks and they said my transmission was leaking. I have over 277k miles now so I figured if it’s leaking at the gasket I’ll drain the transmission, drop the pan, replace the filter and o-ring, put a new gasket on and fill it up. I bought the gasket, filter, o-ring, WS fluid and was ready to go. Once I got it up on my quick jacks I noticed it was just normal seepage for a 13 year old car with 277k miles. I cleaned everything up and left it alone. Transmissions are funny. Unless the fluid has been drained and filled every 30k miles or they’re not shifting well, I think it’s best to just leave them alone. Sometimes gunky fluid is what keeps them running well.
I share the same ideas you have. Seems like everyone has their own opinions on sealed trans and there are alot of opinions out there. I wouldn't want to mess any of that trans up so I'll prolly leave it be also. Thanks for the reply and hope she is still running good for you.

Great idea and smart choice.
How does it ride and feel compared to the es 350? People told me es has better ride but others said gs is better and more luxurious. Also, is this one awd or rwd?
The ES of the same year (2008) has much softer and floaty ride. FWD is predisposed to torque steer on fast take offs. The GS has a much stiffer ride for better cornering . The RWD and electronic steering makes for a much more responsive feel of the road. It still has very quiet and comfortable ride. The ES is great but it’s a totally different car.
@@alfredlyon27 got it. Thanks for the reply. Do you how does this compare to the next gen gs 350 2013?
@@jben212 the 4th gen GS had many technological upgrades as far as safety and infotainment. As well as the F-Sport option and sport plus mode that adjusted the suspension as well as shifting faster. I owned both , a loaded 210 ES and a Loaded 08 GS 350 . The GS handles better, it is more composed when you floor the accelerator, the seats are more comfortable, with more aggressive bolsters. @LLC 5016 only up to 2005. 2006 marked the first year Lexus was sold in Japan and there was no more Aristo which only matched the 1st and 2nd gen Aristo. 2006-2012 GS is the 3rd generation.
@LLC 5016 again, drive both cars. You will like the GS the most. The Camry and the Avalon are both great dependable cars but they weren’t fun to drive until 2013 for the Avalon and 2018 for the Camry.
@LLC 5016 I’m not sure why you are so bothered by my car. It is 12 years old. It has almost 270,000 miles now. I bought it for $7,000 and has cost me next to nothing and I have had it for over three years. I’m not telling anyone they have to buy it. If you want a Avalon go get one and enjoy it.
@LLC 5016 here’s a video and with lots of interior shots and the obvious lack of sportiness according to the spokes person there are lots of differences. My GS drives very much like a sports car. Very little roll and is outstanding in very curvy hills. Plus RWD and 35 more hp. I love Toyota but the Avalon is not very similar to the GS. It is very similar to the ES if not exactly the same.

Very easy. Oil, filter, done. As with any older car you’ll end up replacing shocks, brakes, battery, and the alternator but that’s about it.
@Organic King that’s a little high for that many miles but prices are up right now because of the new car shortage. If you can get it checked out by a mechanic and he says it’s good offer $8k. If he says no walk away. There always another one.
@Organic King I bought an 08 RWD with 200k for $4,600 at the end of May. If they are taken care of, they can go 300-400k and keep going. The next day after buying mine, the original alternator went out. I’ve also had to replace brake rotors and struts. Drain and filled transmission fluid 3 times + filter change. I’m happy with the car. I wouldn’t have considered any other car brands with 200k on the odo.
@Organic King a 2010 GS350 with 180k sounds promising if it’s been maintenanced properly. Lexus really fine tuned the GS350 2010-11
@Organic King I can't speak on the 06 LS430 but those v8s are harder to work on and therefore cost more to fix. I do the work on my own GS350 and it's great for DIY fixes. You won't regret the GS. Good luck!

Just bought one for 6k with 195k miles. Drives better than my previous car.
@@pujolspop I know it hasn’t been that long but how has your car been since? Thinking about buying one but not wanting to spend too much so thinking of getting one with over 150k mikes
pujolspop should I buy 5k 08gs350 with 175 with kids paperwork on prior maintenance? If everything checks out to be good by day AUTOZONE? And Vin check
Did you end up finding one?
Man I want a GS from this generation so bad... sadly I live in the North East so if I find one it’s almost guaranteed to have some rust
Fly out to California and pick one up and drive home.
same up in CT haha
@@alfredlyon27 very late reply by me but yes I’ve actually been checking them out in Cali for a while. I need a vacation anyway hahaha
This is easily the best looking car and it’s Class from its time you can buy this today and it will still give new cars run for their money
