In this video, I feed the baby turtle that I found some pellets and minnows. He devoured them all up and is doing great in the new tank! Thank you guys for watching!!

  • When I was little I had a baby turtle. I think my parents bought it from the dime store. They were never very energetic. Poor things. This turtle looks happier and healthier. You take good care of your pets. I like to see you feed the turtles. They are funny little creatures. I like turtles and frogs the best.

    • I bought two pairs of baby turtles from different species. I think the seller knows which one is energetic and which one is dying. In order to profit, they gave me one fresh and one dying. Indeed, I ended up with 2 energetic ones. The other two didn't survive after a week.

  • This is such a good thing for him/her like you said. Stimulates his natural instincts and teaches him/her to hunt. Even some like crickets would be good. An occasional earth worm. All those things are good. Red ear sliders are savages. We used to feed our big one feeder mice.

  • try not to over feed him while hes a baby with high protein foods (fish and other pellets), eventually it can lead to shell pyramiding which is not good. you can feed him greens to replace a lot of the protein such as kale, zucchini and water lettuce, you can even try shredded carrots. hope this helps

    • Baby sliders should eat 80% protein until they are about 4 inches long. Then they swap to 80% plant based and once a month protein. Pyramiding is rare in aquatic turtles unless UVB is not given and high protein is offered constantly after the baby phase is over. Pyraming occurs more in tortoises as an effect of low humidity and high protein.

  • Red eared sliders are actually 70 percent aquatic well that's an average he is obviously healthy but he would definitely benefit from having deeper water 😁👍

    • Yes plus the deeper water will also help the water stay cleaner for longer. One thing with with turtles, their tank water gets contaminated VERY quickly. Also they typically sleep all night under water because they feel safer.
