I haven't followed basketball closely in years and barely even keep up with the playoffs so I'm certainly not speaking from an informed opinion but this is just a brilliant video - a whole side of the NBA, and of sports, that I think gets too little attention. So much of sports is about tension and so much of sports coverage is about dilating that tension even further and the result is that you rarely see the comradery and community that extends beyond the bounds of a single team. There's a shared and deserved respect amidst sheer competitiveness and that is worth a standing applaud.

Gordon Hayward came out after Kobe’s death and said that he didn’t intentionally step into the lane so that there could be another attempt if he missed. “He got 60 on me and I didn’t give him anything free all night. What happened on the free throw line was not intentional. Kobe would’ve lost respect for me if I gave him something free. That’s what made him so very special.”

I don't think his off court activity should change how fans view him as a basketball player but it's difficult to treat the two mutually exclusively. That being said, one wholesome interaction on the court doesn't cancel out a proven track record of acting dumb on social media. He's still young so it's possible that he can mature but not everyone does (such as Draymond).

A nice ray of warm sunshine in this ever increasing pit of despair known as the internet.
Kobe and Dirk. Two legends. Respect all around.
Draymond on a sportmanship compilation. Never thought I'd see the day.
One day he’s preventing Ja from falling, the next he’s curb stomping Sabonis’ ribcage
@@hardeepchahal7350 😂😂
Preventing ja from falling 😂 hes actually making the fall worse and turning his body where he’s more likely for an injury F draymond
1:35 , "Preciate ya bud" best one for me. haha
bench celebrations but they get increasingly more funny
Steven Adam’s is the absolute definition of sportsmanship
5:24 That would have been iconic
Kobe to Durk classic 😢
Gordon Hayward came out after Kobe’s death and said that he didn’t intentionally step into the lane so that there could be another attempt if he missed. “He got 60 on me and I didn’t give him anything free all night. What happened on the free throw line was not intentional. Kobe would’ve lost respect for me if I gave him something free. That’s what made him so very special.”
Probably cap but nonetheless the absolute right thing to say. Hayward is straight class.
Ja being wholesome is so wild after all the media about him. He's made mistakes but he's far from irredeemable, there's this wholesome sportsman Ja that just shows his passion for basketball.
One of the funnest players in the league to watch. Hate that he keeps messing up off the court.
He didnt even really do anything wrong. He had a gun. Thats legal
5:57 never noticed Randle motioned for Vince to shoot it..that’s dope
I know nothing. Can you provide context to why they "let him shoot"?
@@kaylinsmith6921 It was Vince's last game ever. It was shortened covid season 2020, Atlanta didn't make it to the play-off. Knicks let him retire with a bang.
Big respect to the 🐐 rip KOBE
Didnt Hayward specifically say he didnt step over the line for Kobe? Lotta guys prematurely step over the line on free throws.
No.
the Kobe/Dirk will somehow always be the most memorable for me.
Grant really got that batman strength now
Thank you for posting this. The Kobe and Dirk moments will always tear up this Mavs fan. #respect #Kobe
so wholesome..i cant stop smiling..😊😊🧡🧡
Is there any videos with sportsmanship like this? I want to see more. This is beautiful and awesome content for a video.
Dirk was just pure class all the way through.
1:51 Seth Rollins Approved 👌
More of this 💛
Your editing is on point, transitions are well done.
Kobe-Dirk Doc-Dirk Heyworth-Kobe Almost made me bawl my eyes out. Well done, men.
Never noticed Hayward play thanks for pointing it out.
I fw this channel. It's the moments of the nba that should be highlighted more
"The fraternity of the NBA, and the reverence for greatness in the NBA, is at a different level than any of the other sports that we watch or cover." - Mike Tirico
Its amzing to see people being naturally good people even in the middle of a game, I think deep down were all naturally caring of each other
3:36 this was a great one! 😊
4:42 that servicemen's reaction tho. 🤯🤯🤯
Not going to lie, this is a nice look and different aspect that I believe is good to see. I love the disrespectful dunks and hard competitiveness but this is beautiful as well
This is why I love NBA, always a level of respect
Grew up playing street cricket and this video just brought back all those memories, so cool! 🏏❤️
More of this. Everywhere. Nice job OP
I think my favorite of these is the Bobby Portis block, because the incredulous look from Bradley Beal is just so great. It's as if to say, "Did you not see the amazing play I made to get that layup?!? How you gonna rob me of that highlight reel!?" My man worked way too hard to get rejected that solidly at the very end.
draymond being the nice sportsman like guy in those first few clips is wild
The ambassadors really make it feel accessible for everyone. Makes you believe you could be the next big winner! 🌟🏆
Gordon himself said he didn’t do it on purpose and that Kobe would have been disappointed in him if he did.
Glen 'big baby' davis holding the baby by itself now😁 0:49
There's something about seeing the best in the world having fun with the game they love
This was awesome
I could watch this stuff every morning. Just puts me in a good mood.
This is the kind of video I want for every sport ever. Even if I don’t know wtf is happening.
This is why we truly love basketball, ain't it?!!
these are the moments i love this game, its disapointing when the opposite happens
Sportsmanship is beautiful and so important! ❤️
All bout love
Grant's face almost became like "Thomas the train engine " 😂
0:22 Im sorry,I cant stop laughing😅
Kobe 😢 breaks my heart every time
RIP Kobe. 🙏
crazy how dreymond goes from saving people to throwing punches xDD
I keep expecting all of these guys to get called on a Technical. 🤣
it is wholesome when you’re so appreciative of the sport you play that when your opponent does a cool move you’re just as excited about it and congratulate them. that’s awesome, kudos to theses professionals!
I've seen these sort of compilations before but this one is particularly good because the clips make it very obvious that traveling is going on with various players better than other compilations I've seen. It'd be interesting to know how many such egregious travels have occurred during playoff series' when a missed call by a ref can have negative consequences for the livelihoods of a lot of people.
The Dirk part was crazy. Kudos.
That last play i never noticed what Gordon did wow
Dirk/Kobe moment gives me sports tears
Chills, in the best way possible!
The last one is so subtle that he could have only done it out of principle. He didn't care if anyone noticed.
This should be seen more often
Felt so happy watching this
Need to see more of this stuff in the NBA
3:32 "Hell of a shot" one of the many reasons Kobe is loved. RIP
This was really nice
So wholesome
That Dirk and Kobe clip hit different ! R.I.P MAMBA
Ja calling Luca 'boy' 😂
Man Morant seems like such a solid dude in most footage I see of him. Whats he doing pulling guns on highschoolers
Trae and Lukas moment warmed my heart
that luka/trae moment tho...
