  • The end of Izzy vs Anderson was bone chilling to me. Made me realize that heroes get old. The bow at the end was literally watching one generation pass the torch to the next and I will never forget it.

    • They were team mates at the Blackhouse. Fairly certain Mark coached Machida and Silva on wrestling while he was there getting lessons on BJJ from the Nog twins. They were all good friends.

  • I still tear up when I see Silva and Adesanya. It’s almost like a fighter version of father and son. Mentor and mentee. The student becomes the master. Not only inspiring, also very heartwarming.

    • I truly think the best parts was either the restraint after the fight was observed to be over, as well as the show of true respect at the end, with the two warriors kowtowing each other at basically the exact same time in appreciation for the match.

  • As an MMA fighter this is what it's all about. My last fight in Clarksville Tennessee a smaller promotion didn't have the pre fight promotion but I didn't know anything about my opponent but his wife couldn't make the show and he said she wanted to see who he was fighting so we did a little face off picture for her. Then after I won we sent her one mutually congratulating the other for a good fight

  • There is nothing more satisfying than sportsmanship in fighting. Just something about watching people trying to knock each other out, then hugging it out after the fight, it's just beautiful. They fight for pride, they fight for their families, but when they set their own glory aside to show respect for the other fighter, it makes it more fun to watch.

  • The best and most underrated part of the sport. Seeing two warriors give each other kindness and respect after just exchanging in a physical war is an excellent example of the honor prevalent in the sport. These moments in seem to mean more in MMA than any other sport I think. The handshakes/hugs seem to just be treated as a formality in other sports.
