My neighbour has a Tibetan Mastiff, that I would carry around the first time he came, also at 8 weeks old. Now at 10-11 months, he's this massive dog, but I couldn't help see him as an 8 weeks old puppy. Time really flies by in puppy world.😄

  • I love it when you bath litters 😍😍. I'm South African. Our neighbours had a Boerboel, her name was Flower 🤣. She barked fiercely at anyone walking by in the street, at us walking past in our garden, and she had an ongoing cross-fence feud with my GSD. But she was THE biggest softie with her humans, especially with her human pups. She patiently played dolls with her little girl human, and she did not mind in the least being dressed up by her. In winter, she wore a Springbok (our national rugby team) doggy jersey 😁. Random info: the "oe" in Boer is pronounced like "boo!" and boel is just bull written in an Afrikaans way. So basically Boo+r+bull 😂

    • Could you tell us more about the origin of the word? Does it mean as much as farmer's bull?

      @helletenbrix9614@helletenbrix961411 ай бұрын
    • “Boer” means farmer, and “boel” is a shortening of “boelhond,” which means “bulldog”. So it’s basically means “farmer bulldog.” Farmers in colonial South Africa liked to crossbreed mastiffs and bulldogs to form a breed that could protect their farms and be used as hunting dogs. What we know today as the boerboel was only formally bred beginning in the 1950s.

She was incredibly unpredictable and stubborn, but at least she was great at keeping snakes away from the house. When they passed away my dad went to a reputable breeder outside Pretoria for our second pair of boelies.

    • I am a bit scared that the Boerboel is currently bred within her country. Yes, they can be sweet - but every house that has a Boerboel I am super wary of. Boerboel dogs aren't bred to be family dogs, they are bred to protect your property. As in the farmers that I know would let their boerboel dogs out at night to patrol the farm, but during the day they were kept in electric fenced enclosures. They arn't bred to be smart (trust me I know, we had a mix and he truly was stupid) and training them is hard. A lady in the neighborhood got her arm ripped off because the Boerboel jumped over the wall. Don't often hear about dog attacks in town, but when you do, it is often a Boerboel (we do have pitbulls, but not the american pitbull). These dogs needs to be respected and only for very experienced dog owners. If you are afraid of a Rottweiler, then this dog not for you.

  • OMGGGGGG This makes me miss my fella so much!! He ended up being 130# but when I rescued him from a hot pitch black garage in Las Vegas in the summer.....he weighed 84#. He was skin and bones. This brings up a good point that when people have a pet, they truly need to have a "plan b" for their furbaby if something were to happen to them. Rex's owner had passed away and his son was supposed to be taking care of him. He had no food, no water and was absolutely stuck to die in this garage. He had only been with a deaf man, never around other people and he was a mean boy in the beginning. Example, I got him in my truck, and then he wouldn't let me in my truck. lol From there it was leaving the sliding glass door open and locking myself in my bedroom to sleep....finally on the third night I was like screw it, if he eats me....I had a good run! lol I pleasantly woke up from my exhausted sleep with him breathing in my face and staring at me....I thought I was a gonner. He gave me a sweet good morning smooch and the rest was history until he passed away. He literally became a protector and best friend and I think of him and his huge self every single day. (side note: he became the biggest baby, and thought he was a lap dog!!) Thank you for this video and this sweet memory that I got to share.
