When a female cheetah loses a cub to a lion attack, she can't afford to grieve for long. Her other cubs are missing, and there's a chance they might still be alive.

The only reason why people "think"hyenas are the worse because, disney made them look like that and humans but, in reality they are not bad at all they are nice animals. Watch the lion whisper he explains it and there are other people who are also able to explain. So my tip to you watch those thing before commenting.

    • She actually did well having some alive, most cheeta cubs don’t make it to adulthood, cheetas in general have it rough. Cheetas get their kills stolen a lot of the time, they can’t fight back because they aren’t strong enough, and just about everything they go up against is stronger than them.

    • Unless you don’t want the kid. A female hamster will eat her young if she doesn’t want to be a mother for instance. Lots of animals abandon their children at birth if they didn’t want to be a parent. At least humans can get rid of it before it’s born.

And at the end, when she sees her surviving cubs, she calls them with a squeek so cute and purrs out of joy. They don`t speak, and don`t have laws and morals like humans do... but I see very humanly emotions in this video.

    • Lions are the main cause of cheetah cub deaths (78% according to a 1994 study), and only 4,8 % of all cubs survive to weaning age. Lions are extremely territorial and will kill any predators they can capture, and territorial kills are rarely consumed. Cheetahs are, unfortunately, not built for confrontation, as they are light and cannot outrun most predators for extended periods of time.

    • rizzt007. It's not for nothing. They are rivals, it's easier to kill them as babies. Then having the threat of them coming to kill you once they grow up. That's all it is. Just eliminating future threats.

      @SeptyaNasution@SeptyaNasution7 жыл бұрын
    • Lions and most other carnivores partake in both surplus (killing more food than they can consume) and territorial killing (killing other predators to preserve territory). In this case, they are killing the cubs to ward off the mother. As explained in the video, lions will kill any predators they find in their territory, including but not limited to cheetahs, leopards, and wild dogs. As for surplus killing, this behaviour is especially prevalent in wolves and other canines, but seen across all predator species.
