Today we FIX the Tesla Cybertruck that I broke. The stainless steal on the Cybertruck CAN be welded. HUGE thanks to www.oshcut.com/ for letting me borrow a laser. And www.luxeautomotive.com/ for installing my paint protection film: www.llumar.com/luxe The Heat filtering Stratos Ceramic Window tint can be found here: llumar.com/na/en/automotive/w...
The video where we check the bulletproof-ness of the cybertruck is HERE: • Is the Cybertruck *ACT...
The Tesla Cybertruck is one of the most iconic vehicles of all time. It is an incredibly durable truck with lots of cool quirks and features, and also makes for an excellent billboard for my Off-road wheelchair company. www.notawheelchair.com
Missed opportunity to wrap the Cyber Truck in a Dbrand Teardown skin.
YESSSSSSS
Maybe some other place could have a wrap?
@amirshahab3400 yeah that's what I'm saying dbrands are for mobile device use not for vehicles 😂
dont worry he will find a way to ride dbrand. sooner or later
OMG
We just got a kid rig for my son and I have to thank you for giving him his first bike ride experience. He loves it and we've been able to take him places we never thought we could.
That sounds so awesome! So happy for him!
From his company not wheel chair?
@@brianreilly4766 he probally wanted the divots and he said OSH could make a new door but the bullet holes make it more eye catching hense the billboard for the company working

If I owned a Cybertruck I'd take off that rubber stuff so my truck sounded like a bell when you hit it. very cool gong sound.
LOL!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Cybertruck church bell, Cybertruck ice cream truck?!
You're giving influencers new ideas on how to play a song using different panels on the truck!
Taco Bell cybertruck
🎉 Fantastic idea 💡 Then head to a gravel road 🎉
I rarely watch your videos anymore, but this one was very cool. I have to say when I first saw the color of the wrap I didn't think it would look good, but WOW, I was way wrong. That looks AWESOME.
Welcome back!
That foil is also great for dampening sound in mechanical keyboards. I've stuffed so much Noico in keyboards.
How does it dampen the sound? Can you teach me how to do?
my keyboard is loud af.
@@yeethaw4895 it helps to get rid of any reverb within the case. I put it in the bottom of the case, smooth or out and then I'll either tape over the foil so that it avoids any contact with the PCB, or I'll tape mod the PCB itself. But either way, just make sure that the Noico is smoothed out and that you put a nonconductive layer between it and the PCB of the keyboard.
hmm... fellow keyboard enthusiast in the wild
Ngl it does work😅. I can barely hear scream from my basement 💀
That raw welded door feels like right out of a madmax movie
Honestly the wrap made the cybertruck way more visually appealing to me. The stainless alone just looks kind of bland. The bullet holes give it a nice depth effect lol. Awesome video
Pretty good marketing. "Shoot Cybertruck, get views and $$$" "Repair Cybertruck, get views and $$$" Also advertise friends lasercutter and wrap shop and your own wheelchair company at the same time.
This is one tutorial that I hope people don't ever have to use.
Because you hope that they don't buy a cybertruck or because you hope they don't get into a gunfight?

That sound dampening material is very common in the automotive industry. You can pick some up at your local aftermarket audio store or Amazon and improve the noise isolation of any vehicle for a pretty reasonable price. I just got some to install in my 2020 Escape Titanium this spring because Ford didn't use enough in the cargo area.
Why is it only in certain spots? If you know the panel elsewhere not covered by the material wouldn't it sound tinny?
@@atubebuffvibrational modes of the panel. A good rule of thumb is to put dampening at 1/3rd (if I recall correctly) of the sides. That reduces the amount of modes a lot. It's kind of similar to playing harmonics on a guitar by dampening at the 12th fret with your finger, which effectively filters out all lower harmonics as they "want to" move the material at that spot.
@@cheezzinatorthis guy is spot on. As an engineer for over 25 years I can confirm that this is basically right. There is no need to dampen the whole panel just enough
@@smellycheese2466 thanks for confirming, fellow Cheese
but but but but he said elon invented it!!!
It would actually be super dope to see different people etch/mark up the stainless steel in different ways. Acid etches, various scruffing/scratching patterns, all kinds of variety. Cheaper than wrapping, easy DIY and repair, ultimate customizeability, and still get to take advantage of that stainless design!
Why would you want this?
@@pauljefferies9087 because I think uniqueness is more important than a refined aesthetic
Wow! I seriously didn't think those bullet holes would work but the finished product really looks great. Absolutely unique.
I didn't think you were actually going to cut the piece out, that's pretty cool.
I thought this was just going to be a door swap vid.
Zack carrying the Cybertruck's reputation all by himself like an absolute baller.
His back must hurt from carrying an entire product like that
reputation of what? lol. its not a bullet proof car
@@Alex-zi1nbit's certainly bulletproof, just not from a freaking sniper rifle
Cybertruck should be a flop but so long as fanboys exist it won't be
I hope he wont break he's back defending this 100k buggy rustbucket
Zack, this follow-up to the testing is fantastic! I love that, since you were wrapping it, you didn't weld the one cracked bullet dent. They really do add character to the truck, and make it even more one-of-a-kind. It is impressive that you can access all of the wiring and parts diagrams and not have to pay for any of it, simplifies the troubleshooting.
That blue looks sick. Thanks so much for giving us credit, the CT is really a passion project for us.
oh, also, depending on the ammo you used, you can expect your bullet craters to rust in the future from embedded steel contaminating your stainless. we just dealt with a returned product due to a contaminated flap disk in the shop that was used on mild steel then was used on the face of a stainless product. over time, the face rusted in the spots which were grinded. this can be mitigated with a nitric acid solution. nitric is amazing on stainless and will disolve out any ferrous particles, leaving stainless spotless. also, de franke Inox Stainless cream is really incredible at pulling rust, nitric acid stains, surface oxidation from welding. i use it on 304/308 stainless on a regular basis and its pretty great. not sponsored, just a customer of their product and we go through small cases frequently for stainless lab equipment fabrication. probably great for cybertruck lol.
some cybertrucks started rusting after ten days because it costs extra 5k for the protective paint every car usually comes with, its truly a car for stupid rich guys
Tell me you don't know what stainless steel is without telling me
False. They weren't rusting. There were iron deposits on the outside like any new car but since Tesla doesn't have dealerships to do a full detail before final sale, irons deposits rest on the surface from transit. It's super common. I live a mile from railroad tracks and all 3 of my cars need to be buffed out every year because of the tiny rust spots on the paint. @@w.lf404
@@w.lf404 How does stainless rust? You sound unintelligent
@@sys-administrator All stainless corrodes under the correct conditions. 400 series more easily than the 300 series the CT uses 300.
I love the raw patch looks with bullet dents
I was a little bummed when you buffed out that patch. I see why you needed it smooth, though. Wrap looks great. Also, pleasantly surprised to see the door was relatively easy to repair and especially that Tesla provided the information freely. We need more of that.
That sky blue colour better than i expected it would be, Looks cool 💯
A teardown skim would be heavenly 🎉🎉
The best step-by-step tutorial on fixing bullet holes on Cybertrucks yet!
4:34 It's also worth noting here that automakers tend to use the bare minimum sound deadening material required to dampen reverberations. I actually added that sound deadening to my 1999 Ford Ranger Electric last year while I had the cab torn down. I removed the original sound deadening patches that were starting to come loose, but I just layered over the factory patches that were still solidly in place.
Wow, that Ceramic Tint is an amazing thing. What a great thing to help control the temperature inside the cabin!
I wish I could see the finish colored through heat. There are some artists out there that would make this giant canvas beautiful.
Tbh the cypertrucks' best use would be as a canvas
not gonna lie, that vinyl wrap caught my attention vs the rest of the video, for my laptop and phones, seems like a good market to expand into

That is what I did as an auto body shop tech for 20 years. The insides are so cool to see how it all goes together.
This is absurd. I love it Edit: I did not expect the repairability of the Cybertruck to be so straightforward. That wrap at the end looks amazing

This is amazing, think about all the DIY stuff that this truck will enable once it reaches top volumn production.
At first I thought DBrand came with a wrap skin for the Cybertruck 😅
Thanks for the tutorial! Just came back from a trip to Chicago and this will really help me out!
Had to stop by the shop today to get a photo of the new wrap. Looks amazing. ❤
Nice to see the purging going on! True welding and not just putting "crystalline structures" on top.❤ Watch out for the manganese, nickel or maybe even cobalt -content of ur lungs when grinding stainless. Most is 304 or 316, but you never know! Standard M3 mask will take care of the metal particles. But that's NOT taking gasses into consideration, those "only" makes your lungs cry.. 😅 Really nice work though! 😊
Good luck mate
Such a fantastic video. One of my favorites!
Thanks for watching!
The wrap turned out beautiful!!

12:18 , They actually did use this kind of technology in the LG G Flex 2! The back of the phone had similar self-healing film on it.
LG always tried to innovate, loved them for their focus on quality DACs. HTC was also trying back in the day. It's all so boring nowadays. Disposable glass metal slabs. Bring back the polycarbonate bodies, lighter and damage and shock resistant.
with that new logo the truck now finally looks nice
The wrap looks great.
That blue looks good! 😮
This is actually really well made , one the easiest door panel dissemble I have seen.

1:30 no, I don't think other 100k$ cars rust this fricking much in just 2 weeks lmao 😂😂😂
Walk to any dealership and look under any truck costing $80k, $90k or $100k and you will see surface rust.
@@Dave-in-MD and all those were there for less than two weeks?
still parroting debunked trash lol
@@Progs420 Yes, unfortunately. Go look at the hubs, CV axles, axle assemblies, etc underneath most pickups/SUVs. They're plain untreated metal from factory and usually are completely covered in surface rust before they even hit the lot in most cases, or at least definitely after a first rain
@@Dave-in-MD Well, American cars, anyways...... We don't even use corrosion resistant brake lines, even though it's hardly a cost increase.
Your patch was in the shape of the Cybre truck itself!!
Zack...You remind me so much of Grant Thompson of "The King of Random". Both of you starting almost each channel back around 2011-2012. I remember when you both were just amateurs at this and now look at you. How much you have grown!! I have enjoyed both of your content throughout all these years. It broke my heart of the passing of Grant, he was a very cool guy just like you!! Well, always wishing the best and positive growth to you and all!! Congrats and blessings!! :)
Fantastic customer service???? C'mon Zack, we both know you're gotten special treatment. Tesla's service is notorious for being among the worst. This fact doesn't really change the wealdability of the doors... though let's call a spade a spade. Though I won't lie, I'm glad the complete inner wiring diagram is available online. Kudos to them for providing it.
Tesla basically doesn't consider maintenance a revenue stream they want to pursue, which is a double edged sword really. Tbh better than a lot of garages that actively rely on maintenance to make money.
@@ZesPak You can't claim to be "Green" without respecting the order of REDUCE>RE-USE>RECYCLE! Reduce the purchase of new. Re-use the old one until unfixable. Recycle only when it can no longer be used.
Leaving the other dents by rounds? LOL That seems like a good way to get pulled over by LE asking questions.
That's just not going to happen. But thanks for trying to sneak in a cop bashing.
@@Dave-in-MD - Wow you are super sensitive if you consider that cop bashing. Do you need a safe space buco

Wow Tesla posting the wiring diagram online is pretty badass honestly. I work on all sorts of shit and finding wiring diagrams is often my biggest struggle. Once i have that I can always fix electrical issues.
Tesla does make a lot of odd decisions but designing the door to be that easy to completely take apart plus make wiring diagrams available to all is something I really wish other manufacturers would emulate. I've had to take off door panels in several vehicles and NONE were that simple to take off, and even more annoying to put back on properly.
That looks good with the wrap
