  • I read that, at this point in the competition, he was feeling discouraged and tired. His father flew to China to surprise (and support) him. Dimash didn't know he was in the audience until he began to leave the stage. One video shows him picking up his father, hugging him so tightly, and spinning him around; such a love bond between these two.

    • @@garethpendlebury7996 , rumor is, it wouldn't have been acceptable, politically, to allow the first-ever "guest", from another country, to be the winner. I think Dimash may have been aware of that possibility going in. The first place winner was quite surprised, since eveyone knew that D ruled the competition. I think he was an absolute winner, since the series is what launched his world-wide recognition and the amassing of millions of Dears!!

    • @@arwengarraway9143 ok let me make my point here...I used to listen to Disturbed all the time but after they did the cover of Sound of Silence all we hear on the radio is that is their song. No props to the original writers of the song. Then you have Shinedown's version of Simpler Man, well in the video they actually pay tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd and acknowleged it isn't their song. The issue isn't with the cover, but the issue is how everyne wants to act like he is the greatest thing since sliced bread without acknowledging who the original was. He doesn't even do that. Vitas even forbade him from doing Opera #2 and here we are...people still thinking he is so awesome for his version of it. Whether we agree on Vitas' stance on this he has the right to make the demand. It is his song..

Dimash has performed this for years before that competition. There were videos on youtube where Dimash went even higher on that last elevation section - off the high end of the piano! BUT - try finding any of those now. You can't .... I've tried finding them again. In any concert video streaming that had him performing Opera 2, they have since been edited out. In this video he was perfect and playful during the presentation with fellow competitors. He knew it would surprise them every time he raised his pitch. And it was nice to see how they liked it. And they showed their support for him. And it was a special day for him. He was in China, missing his family. His father went in secret and was hidden in the audience. It is that gentleman who appears at the end vibrating a lot (in a black suit with a red band on his badge). I saw a video in which at the end, when he is thanking the musicians, he suddenly stops talking because he saw his father. He ran up to him and the hug they gave was spectacular and exciting. If you watch the full video you will see Dimash after he finished thanking the audience and then he glances over and suddenly sees him. The look on his face is priceless and heartwarming. "Hello", while western, is embellished with many ethnic elements. The stage version of "Screaming" has an Ukrainian run followed by rap. His dearly love "Daidiau" is completely Kazakh and of course you reviewed Samaltau. Other Dears can probably add more. I just LOVE the folk music elements (well of course his voice. I love his Igor music as well)

This is Vitas song but Dimash's interpretation is different compared to Vitas. Dimash upped the key three times so extra point for Dimash and low notes I prefer Dimash of course since Vitas he was just talking. I am not saying the Vitas version is bad, all I am saying that The king version was and is way better. not to mention storytelling, the character playing, flirting with the audience, stage presence, a bright technic, and entertainer. whenever I watch it, I remember that this actually was the second video I've watched Dimash after SOS this is so nostalgic loving him and loving see you react to this Coach.

    • Dimash uses Bel Canto for his high section but Vitas- no idea what he's doing. I want to say that he's screaming or screeching cuz that's how it sounds but it's probably not right. I think that he's using he's using a smaller space in the back of his throat so he creates a small sound which sounds piercing?

    • @@arwengarraway9143 I do get what you imply Vitus use ((Screaming)) as more focus piercing sound like a smaller tube but Dimash even on top as in whistle register he still has his that mix ((strange ha😏😏)).

  • Funfact Dimash is sometimes completely different on stage than behind the stage. With this episode it was the case that his father had traveled in secret and surprised him. You noticed afterwards that Dimash was really homesick, because he said he wanted to go home, then asked twice if he had sung well. He is also extremely self-critical and constantly dissatisfied because he is a perfectionist. He makes it look light and looks totally confident on stage, that's so blatant if you know how he is otherwise. He compares music with sports and math, especially something that you have to keep studying. This art totally switch on the stage is very impressive.
