  • I'm a parametric design architect. FINALLY someone that truly is worthy got what he deserves. This man works for all of us. He designs with almost ZERO budget. He designs for the poor and for those who can't pay for our services. This is an architect. I fully agree with this Pritzker. WELL DESERVED, pound by pound.

    • @@timojo-ibukun5264 welcome. This is the kind of things that win awards and change a continent. We need to promote our own design anesthetics. Lest we forget. Even Gucci design came from west Africa but they think it's his not ours. We made patterns before patterns, we built buildings before architecture. We built triangles in the sand before Pythagoras

  • I first became aware of his work when he designed the roof at the Serpentine. Since I have been immersed in his work and love his philosophical perspective of perpetuating Africa's unique culture in the context of architecture. Also, the fact that he does not wait for the Big grant but works with what he has shows him to be a man of integrity, dignity and grounded in community.

  • I am actually glad where world is moving, although not visible at a global scale right now. There are concerned people abt the community, people, eco system and Kere is one of the finest examples. But what interests me is such gems are getting recognized at Global scale through awards like Pritzker, it shows even the jury and people like us are craving for change. World needs balance, and things are happening slowly but surely :)

  • This was really nice. I like his designs, the buildings look futuristic in a way. I also like the way he builds with the culture like using the trees and how they gather beneath them to talk etc. I appreciated the way the designs suited the climate like choosing to have special roof designs for breeze, handling the heat by other methods other than AC.

Architect KERE brings down to scale the lofty goals of every budding architect from ‘more is better ‘ to ‘less is better’ in the dimension of materiality. In an age where everybody with a computer and a three months training in 3-D believes they can be an architect this PROFESSIONAL is bringing Back the real purpose of architecture - to bring light in human life, to sustain life and to change lives. in an age of excess in the west this is a much desired approach to architecture… Bravo!
