    • Starchitects have that kind of ego. Lol. Foster and partners criticized the streamlined art deco buildings that dominate Miami but went with the ugliest design of a parking building. The audacity of that firm is astounding.

  • I hope that kind of architecture that praises the human thrives over the "stararchitects". The production of the space we live can not be determined by someone who want to make "noise" in the city with human scale sculptures.

  • I wasn't convinced. Firstly, if Pritzker prize wants to maintain its status, it must choose every year the most influential architect in the world of architecture and avoid bringing architects to the stage who were previously unheard of. Secondly, when giving the prize a noble reason is cited, that is, the contribution to society, one cannot ignore the question: what did the architecture of the winners contribute to the world's beauty? In this case, architects were selected who create an environment that is perceived as aesthetic only by an elitist group of inflated art critics. The average person, about whom they talk all the time, will only think it's ugly. And finally, beyond the building's contribution to saving the world, the building itself exists. A microcosmos of its own, that when visited, has the power to transport you back to the world - and all the visual noise within it - with an experience of elevation, as if you've just stepped out of a breathtaking music concert. Thanks God, this year they chose David Chipperfield who does just that, and it's hopeful that the judges of the Pritzker Prize will continue to select architects like him, otherwise, no one will be interested in them or the prize anymore.

  • The prize has ridiculously dropped it's standards. Yes, social impact is an important part of Architecture. It answers the question " How is Architecture useful?" But Architecture is also meant to answer deeper more philosophical questions. These are what actually makes Architecture what it is. Social impact is to be done at a large scale of it is to deserve the biggest recognition in Architecture.

    • Visualize yourself for being an architect and feel it and ask yourself if your doing the things you should be doing right now to be that person. Build Habit, always seek improvement. Study and practice with consistency is the key for me in Architecture.

Believe me just wanting to become one is a risky thing to do. Thats the mistake i made. Its demanding and takes up a lot of your time. But hey, if you still pursue no one is stopping you.
