Hey guys, killing the deer is great. That’s the success. But just because your not killing your targets, doesn’t mean your failing. Trying to find the deer, and you process in doing that, is why I watch hunting channels. To learn. Any content you have that will show people your methods, is what I want to see! Post some content! Me and one of my best friends have plunged into urban hunting this year. We’ve each put in roughly the same amount of scouting work, the same amount of time in the stand, and we make roughly the same judgement calls. I have put 6 deer down including two legit wall-hangers (150”, and 130”, which is solid for VA), and he has only had one encounter with a shooter. It was 90 yards away, and obviously not a fruitful encounter. I say all this to make the point that we are dealing with a sport that isn’t always fair. Me and him could hunt the same way next year and our roles could switch. I don’t deserve any more fruitful hunts than him, but this year I was just downright fortunate.
Luck is a huge part of the game and we are starting to realize that. Staking the success of a hunt on a wild animal who is designed to outsmart you is hard in many ways. Thanks for the encouraging words, Congrats on your season! 👑
@@creekkings yessir! All we can do as hunters is do everything possible to stack the odds in our favor. But at the end of the day, it comes down to what the animal decides to do when we’re in the stand.

Pa has given a pretty good season lol I got my first buck on opening of Archery! You guys put in a lot of effort into your hunting, im sure within this last bit of hunting season will be better!
You guys inspired me to do some knocking up here in Michigan , was able to land a spot in exchange for some summer work . Never bow hunted before only rifle , going in as green as can be but looking forward to October 1st!!!!! GGs boys may 2023 bring us all a 200” giant .

Season In ky was really rough for me. My 200” deer wouldn’t show up during season and now since season is over he’s there every morning. He’s done that every year

My dream buck died on the neighbors property, 4 years of the chase I learned allot! 234 in pike county giant ! It’s been a grind to find a buck I’d call a shooter LOL ! Keep at it guys !

I hunt Ohio as well and Missouri. Tough year in Missouri. Killed a good one in Ohio, Missouri was warm for 2 weeks in November. Absolutely killed me driving back and forth from Michigan,.love the content!

Guys your not alone. This year was crazy up and crazy down more down than up. I know Ohio DNR will not admit it but I think EHD did severe damage to many areas of Ohio. That issue in top of big acorn crop along with warm rut weather are contributing factors for a below average season. After action for me is I did everything I could within my power to tip odds in my favor but if the age class of the bucks your looking for are not there you can't kill them. I don't sit still and am debating moving to iowa and becoming a resident but now I'm even rethinking that move. Iowa opened up a late doe season with high powered rifles and many big shed bucks are being killed as does. Kansas has it's issues also so I'm feeling squeezed for options. I'm not liking the long term trend I see taking place in the Midwest and to make million dollar land decisions is harder now than ever. I'm almost ready to say f the whole thing buy a house in the keys and just go hunt Saskatchewan and Kansas like I used to. I'm not into effort without return. You guys are young keep after it.

@@buckydoedowner9040 He didn't say it was their fault, he's saying nobody is talking about it, which is true. Cities with high EHD numbers directly correlate to cities who don't allow hunting. They are progressive in their thinking and don't realize the positive benefits of deer management. ODNR doesn't really communicate to those cities for some reason.

@@creekkings Absolutely. That is real hunting. Day after day until you either score or not. A Daily Blog. Check out Midwest Whitetail Daily Blog You Tube channel. This way we get to see your adjustments, sightings, misses, kills, tracking and finding the deer etc. I'm sure it is difficult to put together with editing etc. but we would watch it every time something posts.

Central North Carolina deer 🦌 mature bucks and hunters are a whole different breed 😂 and the bucks here are ninja 🥷 like and really are nocturnal because of gun hunters corn 🌽 piles , cameras and tower stands / latter stands etc. every 100yards 😂 and the mature bucks are pinned down in a hidey hole 🕳️ underground until the orange men move out and the bucks that come to my property visit midnight after hours and they don’t have to chase does during daylight so they do all their feeding & breeding at night !
