2 more days untill a 9 day ID spring bear hunt! Good luck this spring guys!
Lots of luck to you!
good luck!
Thanks for all the great info guys. I love these types of videos
One of the best gear dump videos ever! Very versatile to many hunting applications cheers from Canada eh. 🍻🇨🇦👍🏻
Awesome film….its amazing how the terrain in Alaska resembles the east coast of the continent, especially Newfoundland and Labrador! (Eastern province in Canada). Can’t wait for part 2!
9 more days until a 9 day idaho spring bear hunt! ;)
Good luck man safe hunting!!!!
Less go!
Same!! Hoping to guess the snow levels haha. Good luck
In this video you guys said you use the Steripen for water purification rather than filters or pumps and I see you using the Steripen in the hunt videos. Could you do a video on how you transport water from rivers and creek bottoms to mountain top camps and do you carry that water in designated water bags so that you never put clean water in those same bags?
Perfect timing for this video! Can't wait to get out looking for them next week
Great review just before spring bear season! Good luck this year.
This is awesome! Great video and great information for sure. Thanks guys see ya soon
Love the gear dump. I listened to the podcast and decided I needed to watch it
Thanks for the content, appreciate it!
April 19th driving VA->ID let’s get after it boys!!
Love the videos I've been watching for years. i download a bunch of your podcasts, and it gets me through the workday. My favorites are the podcasts with Aaron, Corey, lampers, or livesay
If they had a bear hunt for every gear dump they got I could actually watch bear hunting!
Gritty you guys always recommend the Kahtoola micro spikes. I found another brand called the Hillsound Trail Crampon Ultra. They look almost identical to the Kahtoola but have more spikes and the spikes themselves are longer, particularly the ones on the heel. They also include a Velcro strap that helps keep the spikes secured to your boots. I’m just curious what your thoughts are on the longer spikes. Would they be more beneficial or if there’s something I’m not thinking of that would make them an annoyance. Like walking on hard rocky surfaces, in my mind if the spikes become stilts it’s as simple as slipping the spikes off when they become a hinderance.
Later season, high country hunts, give me the Wild Rock! Crispi Boots rock!!
Brian, as someone who used to suffer from hyperhidrosis I suggest you look into getting your sympathetic nerve chain clamped. I did this over 20 years ago and it was the best decision.
The Lapponia 3s will definitely be solving the traction issues of the Lapponia 2s - I’m thinking you guys might’ve had some influence there!
Have you guys ever tried Kenetrek boots? Love mine just wondering what your take is on them?
It appears that the Ryno-tuff solar charger has also been discontinued now. Do you guys have any other suggestions? And have yall played with the new dark energy solar panel at all?
Never mind I just saw the price on the dark energy one 🤯. Any other options that you guys have experience with?
WIFE WAS PROBABLY LOW ON SALT! SALT IS VERY IMPORTANT ON KETO AND CARNIVOR
Have you guys thought about having your tipi pole converted into your paddle? Also are you freeze drying your steaks raw or cooked?
I would hate to break my tipi center pole while using it as a paddle. We are cooking the meat and then thin slicing it before we freeze dry it.
Do you leave the paws on hides you use to throw on chairs and tables or do you remove them?
I have some hides with paws and some without. At this stage, I like to collect the claws and keep the hides without the paws.
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast Heck yeah thanx!
Claws make cool necklaces. They make a great addition to European buck &/or bull mounts. Also, claws aren’t too comfortable if your hide is draped over a chair or couch.
Ryan ,how often do you need to get a new laponia?
I hunt a lot, not as much as ryan, and mine lasted 3 years. I still use em for other outdoor activities that aren't hunting like summer fishing and gardening.
You will get around 1300-1600 miles out of the Lapponia.
Did yall delete this and re-post it? I’m having some Deja vu
Yes, this was online for one day and then it came down. We had some technical issues. 👍🏼
No info on your camera gear?
We will be doing a camera gear podcast in the future.
Great video but I wish you guys included clothing.
What grey sweater/hoodie is that??!!
Duckworth: Powder Hoodie
Brian & Ryan, what is your favorite bullet for Bear Hunting?
We have been running the 130gr Swift Scirocco out of the Weatherby 6.5 RPM. It has good accuracy and performance.
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast Thank you.
Cut the paddles off the stick, drill a hole in em, and tie em together with parachute chord. 1 paddle per hand. It works just fine, and saves a ton of weight and space. You're welcome. 😊 -Frmr wa state trailblazer used to stocking alpine lakes.
Woken up on 3 separate occasions with the foot box and my socks frozen to the bottom of my tent (high country Colorado). Ended up ruining the Hornet 2 twice. Can’t wait to try this sleeping bag y’all had a hand in. Appreciate y’all. 👍
Im real curious about the change in diet your talking about that you have noticed a big diffrence in the bran fog . Pushing the 58 mark and the fog is turning into more of a hurricane and sometimes its flat out hard to keep the light house lit if you know what i mean.
@briancall @stealthyhunter do you guys plan on going out again with Cal?
We went on a hunt once-back in 2021. Was a great hunt. But we do not have any hunts planned for the future.
