  • It's blown my mind how supportive and encouraging Jordan's community is. Really touched me seeing some of the comments under this video. He has had a huge impact on my life too. I'm getting my life in order. I have decided to make animated Jordan Peterson videos. Here's my first attempt: kzhead.info/sun/gpaKYpx_pJuvZWw/bejne.html

    • @Minimalism Your user name is self explanatory to your underwhelming assessment of both this Elite Psychology channel and Jordan Peterson. Jordan Peterson stands out as an elite psychologest in no small part because of his broad spectrum comprehensive working knowledge of what a healthy individual's emotional and psychological foundations are built upon, being able to effectively communicate and motivate on an *elite* level that most everyone can relate to, of how to identify and overcome stumbling blocks within each individual to work towards becoming the best version of oneself possible. This in my opinion is maximization of the human experience, becoming all one is capable of being. The opposite of minimalism on a personal level, which to me means "be the least one can be."

Watch this kzhead.info/sun/irySpdWqhmqCf6c/bejne.html, then read this: www.amazon.com/Jordanetics-Journey-Humanitys-Greatest-Thinker-ebook/dp/B07JY9XV38. • @@caspamasters That's what I believed for a long time. I listened to his words very carefully. At one point in his many interviews, he said that trans men and women were clearly going through a very rough time. But later, he attacked Elliot Page for no reason and was cruel as fuck about it. Then, he refused to apologize. This happened just before he was launching a new channel on The Daily Wire. He knew what Twitter's policies were. He had attacked a bikini model but that didn't get him suspended. So then, just a week or so before the launch of his show, he decides to be an asshole to Page. Why? Because he was TRYING to get suspended because 1) he knew it would get him a ton of attention and 2) so he could whine like a little bitch about it on his new show. That makes him a grifter. He is a heartless piece of shit who pretends to care for people for profit. But his actions in recent months have shown me his true colors. For a guy who says that you should "clean your room" before going out into the world, his room is dirty as hell and full of hate. You want to follow him? That's your choice. But it's all an act. He has proven that much. Living legend? My god... I hope you wake up someday to how stupid that sounds.

  • When Jordan Peterson shows emotion, that has a profound effect on me. Why does it effect me so heavily? Because it is empathy. I've lacked receiving it my entire life and for him to show understanding hits me hard. Us men are talked down to each and every day everywhere we go. Our days are overwhelmed by loneliness as we have often have no one to relate to or to vent to; but, to hear JP say and show he cares actually holds meaning dearest to my heart. It reminds that my humanity is still present, although it lays dormant for the most part so the world cannot hurt me.

We are to busy protecting them from the complexities instead of understanding the reasons for weird behaviour instead of finding solutions to problems. The greatest is......how to communicate and listen and that there is no shame in saying "NO" and meaning no. We are all different in the woven fabric of life and opinions matter as much being heard and accepted. All this political correctness is stifling.

He can hold his own in a tense interrogation, but a story of a listener improving their relationship with their father can bring him to tears. He cares... He truly cares. • @Mitthenstein I understand how you see it that way. He certainly makes controversial points, but he's affected me and many others with his message of being responsible for oneself, and making yourself stronger to face a world that will not go easy on you. I don't agree with everything he says, but the trans criticisms, from his perspective at least, is less about the particular group of minorities than it is a law put in place to protect them, which may have detrimental consequences down the road. He does have a point there. As an example, the 2008 mortgage and financial collapse was caused by a bill that, on the surface, was good: there are minorities and impoverished groups (many of them not white) who the government wanted to borrow mortgage loans to, so that they could become homeowners. On the surface, it was a good bill, but it was shortsighted and caused more trouble for everyone than it was worth. They became bankrupt, the market collapsed, and many of them became worse off. Laws should be placed with reason, logic and statistical analysis. Not emotion and reaction. He's worried placing a law like the trans law (that caused his controversy) could have adverse effects on everyone, including those whom it's supposed to protect. I know he comes off callous to the trans community, and I understand why they feel that way, but shouting figures like him down by attacking him doesn't prove him wrong. Figures like him need to be proven wrong with better solutions. All that being said, I don't know if his suggestions are entirely correct either, but I usually turn off his stuff when he starts getting into politics or jesus or whatever. I only resonate with the psychology of self- betterment stuff.

Now finishing school I have seen how that negative emotion built from the people who saw me has spread through the entire school. It feels like I was the last pillar people could rely on after the lockdown had ended and I let everyone down. This has reminded me to fix myself together so I can be that pillar in college, which will almost certainly have no one from my school.

In a world where people seek to lobby their pre-formed and immutable dogmas, it is important to have people who are trying to understand rather than prove, to explore and face complexity rather than diminish a complex problem to a baby-talk.

    • @@colestevens1375 I don't think that any of the viewpoints or things he says in his videos is transphobic but his viewpoint does resemble to what you would call conservatism in a traditional sense and so people who are already of the viewpoint that extreme conservatism and the radical right is correct might find certain parts of his videos as encouragement of that thinking and transphobia has often been part of that extreme conservatism. This is part of the problem of having very binary viewpoints which I think is promoted by social media. The social media culture is very quick to judge. The situation is like if you don't agree with a particular ideology then you have to entirely disagree with it. There's no middle ground. People don't think that they can agree with some things about a particular ideology and disagree with others. The point I am trying to make is that I don't think JP had any intentions of promoting transphobia but some of his followers might.

      @anusheelsolanki1@anusheelsolanki13 жыл бұрын
    • @@anusheelsolanki1 I agree that it is at least unclear whether he intends to promote transphobia. But firstly, he did clearly state that he does not believe trans women are women, correct? And I find it hard to believe that he didn’t know about what was actually in the C-16 bill. It is an extremely short bill, I’ve read it myself. Also, trans identity isn’t an ideology, it’s a fact of life. Trans people have always existed throughout history and across cultures, and the scientific community acknowledges the validity of trans identity across numerous scientific fields (and yes, that includes biology. Just because biologists don’t study the societal implications of gender doesn’t mean they don’t think trans people exist). And finally, I am of the opinion that you are responsible for the people who associate with you. If transphobes find Jordan Peterson’s message appealing, that is on him to do the work to show that transphobia will not be tolerated in his community. He hasn’t done that.

      @colestevens1375@colestevens13753 жыл бұрын
    • @@colestevens1375 I don't mean to be offensive but the thing is he actually asked the interviewer what is meant by a real woman? He further clarified that if a person does not fit into a gender category, that doesn't mean that they should be treated with disrespect. He says that trans women are not real women on the basis of a biological perspective. I do agree that trans people have existed throughout history and in almost all cultures. Regarding the C-16 bill, since I have not read the actual wording of the bill so I don't think it will be wise for me to comment on it. From what I understood JP doesn't have much of a problem with what speech is being imposed as compared to the act of compelling the usage of certain words. But then again I haven't done any research on C-16, so I cant say this with surety. kzhead.info/sun/rMOxpKWgfpV6oX0/bejne.html This is a link to the full video you are talking about.

    • i don't hate Jordan Peterson but I question his influence and what he chooses not to say. He certainly gets explicitly politically and claims to champion the truth and freedom of speech but won't touch citizen surveillance v's state secrecy or the political persecution of Julian Assange. Also after famously saying (apparently) that "no Marxist dare debate him", he skipped the opportunity to debate with Marxist expert Richard Wolff. I also know he makes a massive amount of money..... I agree truth and responsibility. Yet Julian Assange is suffering psychological torture in UK's version of Guantanamo bay for exposing the truth. The US military and the "Coalition of the Willing" are yet to to take responsibility for this and the lies that were told to wage this war in Iraq and continue to be told to stay in Afghanistan. I think if Peterson is happy to discuss trump, DNC etc he could be happy to discuss these issues. I wonder if telling an Afghan orphan to just suck it up and clean their room is more important than collectively fighting the injustice?

    • Exactly this, I have been raised somewhat extremely left (mostly on climate) but I have two groups of friends , one more extreme leftists and one more extreme right, what came to me also after I watched mr Peterson, is that how corrupted their views are by the media, this goes for left and right, and although I have been working on having a more neutral view and two sided view of things, since about a year, mr Peterson still helped me open my eyes a lot more, as a 16 yo I find it stupid to see how many of my age category base their views on one sided social media stories, this also helped me to get to a more neutral point.

      @Kris_pie_beekon@Kris_pie_beekon3 жыл бұрын
    • Ms Bramble I understand your frustration with his reluctance to discuss certain issues but I don’t think it’s fair to place those expectations on him. He is a psychologist by definition and he’s almost forced to discuss political topics due to the people that he interacts with or the hate he receives from certain demographics.. maybe he feels he must defend himself on those specific subjects. I don’t think he is that political in all the public speaking/seminars I have seen of his.. I believe he’s more interested in peoples’ behaviours and analysing the human psyche. I too find myself sometimes disappointed by the fact that he won’t condemn the hard right as much as he will condemn the extreme left but again, I recognise that it’s due to the fact that he’s constantly having to defend himself against ridiculous hate. To compare the route Julian Assange chose to take with Jordan’s is unfair. They do not have the same goal/purpose in society. It’s not his fault he is rich/famous, he obviously has a fan base who like what he says. You can’t expect everyone to be a spokesperson for the issues that mean a lot to you, all you can expect is for people to be decent human beings.

  • 3 months ago I was basically in The gutter. I was depressed, my relationship fell apart, I lost my job and my home. I was close to giving up! Just from watching videos of this man I now have my own home and a new job and I'm trying to fix my relationship. Thanks Jordan Peterson.

    • Not even misinterpreted... their minds cant compute his logic and reasoning, they are so stuck in their ways and believes they're simply unable to listen... or they just lack the intelligence.

    • @@mkvk74 So my personal opinion is counter productive? On the other hand, if this video would actually make people reconsider in the first place without reading my comment... they still don't get it. So... no, I don't see why my opinion would be counter productive.
