  • To Seth and the Late Night team: Life has been tough lately and I'm sure anyone could guess why by just drawing random but expected reasons out of a hat. But you and your team bring 10-20ish minutes of informative and humorous content most weekdays that I can watch and I just have to say thank you. To all of you. You don't show the absolute depression that today's America holds and instead make it something worth enjoying.This show will be something I watch or remember warmly for the rest of my life.

Thank you Seth and your team for providing light and truth through this darkest winter, I am still able to laugh and in turn share that joy with my son and my 79 yr old mom, who just received her second vaccine. • There isn’t going to be a hard line between “not normal” and “normal”. We will see slow improvement over time and different people will perceive “normal” differently.

    @AmbivalenceIX@AmbivalenceIX3 жыл бұрын
    • but if you do the work, then you get a clear cut "normal" back. I don't think anyone in Australia is questioning that life here is basically back to normal, for Sydney it feels like there was a "hard line" & once we hit 26 days without a case & the state borders opened up to us & the 28 day official elimination became just a formality, everything flipped into normal mode :) Masks came off, social distancing came down & normal life was back. • The guy who proposed herd immunity by April is clearly, literally, insane …unless he means April 2022.

    @ZarlanTheGreen@ZarlanTheGreen3 жыл бұрын
    • It's honestly not TOO insane... if you make a couple optimistic assumptions. Right now, if we maintain our current vaccination rate, at the end of April, we'll have administered around 102 million doses of the vaccine. Add that to the 45 million who've already received at least one shot, and the presumably 20ish million who have had and recovered from COVID (a number that will, itself, increase as the process goes on.) creating antibodies, that's around 165 million people who are, if not fully immune, at least resistant. The current number estimate necessary for herd immunity is 200 million. So if you assume that our vaccine administrative capability will INCREASE over the next two months, as more healthcare workers and trained volunteers become vaccinated and capable of administering more vaccines, more facilities are open up, production chains and logistics hammered out, and as the 1 shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine gets produced, it's not impossible that by the end of April we could find ourselves in a position where we've got like, 125 million fully vaccinated, and another 100+ million partially vaccinated, which wouldn't be true herd immunity, but would be be pretty close.

  • Bro. You snapped me out of an intense hyper focused obsessive skin picking when you brought up the scam warranty calls for automobiles. I have not owned or driven a car in almost fifteen years, and I'm not sure when it started, but on an almost daily to weekly basis - I get a call about my expiring vehicle warranty. *What ****ing vehicle with what warranty? I don't DRIVE.* :I

    • I've had my current phone number since 2016. Ever since then, I've been getting calls for someone else. It was about loan collection then now a law case. Next time I answer to a human, I'll freaking mess with them.
