  • Not gonna lie, this is easily the most devastated I’ve ever felt after a football game, as a young Lions fan just 19 years old I feel the pain the most for my father who has been a life long Lions fan. But I don’t wanna scrutinize the team and especially Dan Campbell for the loss. Dan no doubt made some questionable decisions. But we can’t let that change our opinion of what he’s done for us, he has completely changed the culture of the Lions in a heartbeat. We have such a bright future ahead, almost all of the guys that had breakout years with us are ROOKIES. We are gonna be fine guys! We won the North and almost made the Super Bowl. It’s painful, trust me I’m still attempting to recover from this, but I’m sure some years from now we’ll be looking back at this as a prelude of what’s to come. An age of the Lions not being the same old Lions. Great season Detroit, we’ll be back, and that’s not just a promise, it’s a guarantee. 🦁

  • Guys don't be upset with this loss, we made rookie mistakes and i think we lacked experience compared to the niners. However next year is our year as long as we fix the defense. I truly believe next season we will get 1st seed and will win the NFC championship game. I know this seems unrealistic but we did great this year and next season our guys will be stronger, smarter and hungrier.

  • Heartbreaking, for sure but let's take stock. We have one of the best young cores in the NFL that is only going to improve. For the first time that I can remember we have an effective offensive line. A quarterback that can be elite, two unbelievable running backs, an owner and GM that actually knows what they are doing and a head coach that can inspire a team just by walking into a room. There's work to be done, specifically on defense (I believe it was the weakness on defense that lost us the game tonight) but the thing that is different is the work WILL be done. To sum it up, that is why this is the Brand New Lions. It was a hell of a run this year, see you next season. One Pride!

  • In 2021, when the Lions finished 3-13, there were glimmers of potential of what could be because they lost many games, but they always fought to the end. Their turning point came in 2022 when they started 1-6 and finished 8-8 with rookies and young players who started to figure things out. The years of 21-22-23 show how the Lions built through the NFL draft and instilled a new culture. The year 2023 will always be remembered in Lions history for what they did under the man who should be the NFL COY of the year. The Lions will learn the lessons they had to because the experience offers as a great teacher to propel them into future to finally win an SB.

    • Nope. Smart coaches don't go for it up 14 in the 3rd quarter of a championship game. It was foolish, let ALL the air out of our sails, and we fell apart afterwards. Up 17 again is what should have happened. Stop being an apologist.

      @thinkbeforyouvote@thinkbeforyouvote3 ай бұрын
    • So? There’s a difference between being smart aggressive and dumb aggressive. You’re up 14 with chance to make history and you don’t take the points.

      @upbeatproductions7614@upbeatproductions76143 ай бұрын
    • Campbell is a good coach and deserves all the credit in the world for getting the Lions to the Championship game and in a massive positive direction. However, when to go for it, when to take the points, those things are about being aggressive but also being smart. And when Campbell kicked the field goal at the end of the half it was smart. He kept momentum going for his team. Also went up 3 scores. Not getting points at the end of the half would have been horrible. With that said, why did you kick the field goal at the end of the half but not take the field goal up 14 in the third quarter at your 30? The 3 yard line is a better opportunity to score and not give the ball back, it would have been better to go for it then. But, it was good he kicked the field. Then why the f*ck do you not take the field goal at your 30 later? It makes no sense. You go up 17 midway through the third quarter. You match their field goal with one of your own. The 49ers could not trade points with you, they could not afford to do that. Instead you have them momentum and they took it. No it's not understanding the importance of momentum and clock management. Bring up 17 near the end of the third was a position of power. And you coughed it up.

  • As a former lifelong die hard Chicago sports fan (I no longer follow sports) the Lions brought me back for one last hurrah. I guess they reminded me so much of the Cubs. Joe Maddon managed a great 2016 season but the Cubs players had to win the World Series in spite of Maddon’s horrendous post season managing especially in games 6 & 7 of the WS in which it seemed Maddon did everything in his power to keep Cleveland close to give them a chance to win it all. The bottom line is the regular and post season are 2 very different animals. There is no “next week” in the post season so you have to make an adjustment and value points and field position a helluva lot more. I still don’t know how Brandon Staley kept his job as Chargers head coach as long as he did. The man did not know the meaning of the positions Punter & Kicker. I’ve watched football most of my adult life and unfortunately I can tell you the Lions will never win a Super Bowl under Dan Campbell. He’s a “lightning rod.” Good for a very short term and that’s it. Unfortunately the NFL is in very limited supply of good head coaches. Too many knuckleheads coaching, assistant coaches & college the same too. I would suggest for the Lions to try and coax someone like Bill Cowher out of retirement while their griddle is still hot. Unfortunately they will stick with Campbell for a few more seasons, wasting their young talent and continue to break more hearts down the road.

    • Campbell should have went for a field goal on 4th and short . He screwed up twice . Unbelievable in a championship game..😮 Just like you said . Horrible.

      @rzz9594@rzz95943 ай бұрын
    • @@rzz9594 The only reason one of those 4th down conversions didn't work was because our guy dropped the ball when he was wide open and it was thrown right to him. That is not Dan Campbells fault. He trusted the players and the players let him down. Had we caught that pass we would have won the game. He did the safe thing and kicked the field goal right before halftime and people are now saying he should have went for it because a TD there would have won us the game. He can do no right in your eyes when you are angry about the loss and looking for someone to blame.

      @blake7065@blake70653 ай бұрын
    • It really wasn't Dans fault we lost the game. Our guys were dropping everything after those 2 big plays that led to 2 touchdowns for the niners. The bounced off the helmet catch and the gibbs fumble in our own red zone. Both those plays gave the niners excellent field position and gave them 2 easy TDs that closed the gap to 3 points. After that they had the momentum and it got into our heads. We came into this game as the underdogs and dominated but that meant going into the second half the niners were the underdogs and the game was ours to lose. This caused us to panic when they gained momentum and our receivers kept dropping every wide open pass that would have set up a great drive for a TD. We finally got out shit together on the last drive and marched down the field just like we did in the first half. If it weren't for those 2 unfortunate plays and all of our dropped balls we would have won the game easily. Sometimes luck is not on our side and we need to learn how to recover when momentum shifts the other way especially in an away game in the playoffs.

    • @@blake7065 Yes it d, Campbells fault as well as the players , they folded 2nd half . But Campbell doesn’t go for a field goal 1st time . On 4th and short . And then again he attempts a 4th and short instead of field goal ? That is 6 points . . You don’t think Wayne Fontes isn’t kicking himself in the Nutzz. Right now . Lion’s share should be going to the damm Super Bowl . Now . When is it going to happen again. ..

  • This game was lost by COACHING. Dan GAMBLE should have known regular season ≠ playoff season. Up 24-10 YOU have to take the field goal on 4th down as Dan Campbell. They were at the 28th. Expectedly, non conversion passing play and San Francisco recovered on downs. That was a COACHING ERROR. The game would have ended in a tie. I saw it coming. And he repeated the same mistake one more time later in the game. On top of that they tried to pass way too often in mid field and in the red zone. Even when the running game was working for them and the passing game wasnt. They kept going with the pass. There was even a sequence where they ran 3 straight passing plays even the one after the other was incomplete. Yes, there were others errors too such as by receivers dropping passes and QB Goff overthrowing but this game was lost by the COACHING.

  • Horrible announcer for the game. It was riqqed honestly. You don’t kick a field goal on 4th and 1 when you are wearing down the d line and could just qb sneak it on then go for it when 49ers wore down the lions offensive line. That 3 point field goal should have been 7. The other 2 times it should have been 6 points. Riqqed.
