The idea os to habe more forwards to tire out the oppositions forwards by being able to bring the 7 fresh forwards off the bench to continuously tire out the opposition's forwards. But secretly, it might be that some of the 7 benched forwards habe the versatility to replace backline players off the bench. Every player has a role throughout the game and the versatility of our players enables the spread of ability needed at points along the timeline during a certain strategy against a target opposition. SA team know each other so well they can fit into different roles in this way...
