He should've have stick up to a pro boxing career, but MMA was risky, he had no background in it. He beat a lot of big random guys with no technique, but these other guys were trained and could've finish him in a lot of ways. I respect him though, RIP.

@@soramirez5473 my background is in taekwondo, American kickboxing and i only have loose knowledge on wrestling, as my teacher taught olympic judo and taekwondo. he didnt teach us judo as i wasn't in that class, but when me and some of the other guys would do mixed sparring striking and wrestling, he'd instruct us on common ring techniques counters, reversals to prep us for grappling in the street should it come to that. I specialized in Kickboxing later, i gathered the knowledge on wrestling to not fall victim for common locks, shifting COG to avoid takedowns and it served me right. Kimbo just thought he could 'thug it up' in the octagon. And it showed so often

All due respect to kimbo, but this was a classic case of the toughest guy at the bar versus a trained combatant. Matt went out there happy as can be knowing he was gonna have an easy night and get a big payday for it. That said Kimbo definitely showed at points through his career that he had been training hard and learning a lot. If he would’ve gotten into professional fighting earlier in life he could’ve been damn good.

The reason why Kimbo got exhausted so quickly is not entirely a cardio thing. Kimbo's sloppy technique is inefficient and burns a lot of energy, and in grappling exchanges he relied entirely on physical strength, which also burns a lot of energy.

All due respect to kimbo, but this was a classic case of the toughest guy at the bar versus a trained combatant. Matt went out there happy as can be knowing he was gonna have an easy night and get a big payday for it. That said Kimbo definitely showed at points through his career that he had been training hard and learning a lot. If he would’ve gotten into professional fighting earlier in life he could’ve been damn good.

The reason why Kimbo got exhausted so quickly is not entirely a cardio thing. Kimbo's sloppy technique is inefficient and burns a lot of energy, and in grappling exchanges he relied entirely on physical strength, which also burns a lot of energy.

Kimbo Slice was never a good fighter. He just had a lot of raw power and strength going for him. Swinging his strength around and never guards against any attacks. He should've learned some technique and lifted fewer weights. He could've been the best, but he was just intense.

I know Kimbo had a big following, but nothing makes me smile more than to see him get his ass drug up and down because his entourage can't break it up as soon a someone gets the upperhand. It was a long time coming, and he deserved every second of it. Rumor has it that EVERY SINGLE one of his boys broke their tvs trying to get inside of it during this fight.

If you don't realize, this was matt second pro mma fight. He wasn't experienced at all. He lost 1 fight in tuf and won 1 in the finales. This fight was impressive to watch since matt had a lot of tools. Kimbo, besides having a lot of experience, couldn't face a guy that is just a top athlete. Yeah, imo matt was still an athlete more than a mma fighter in this fight.
So satisfying to watch happen when it did. Kim I was overhyped, forced down our throats because internet videos and then show to be nowhere near the tier required of a UFC fighter. You could see him just give up here when he realized how outclassed he was.
Problem was his stamina. He absolutely manhandles the guy for the first bit and then just ran out of steam and gets worked
@@sethticer5108 He didn’t learn his lesson with his street fight with that cop. He got dragged into deep water there and drowned and it happened here as well. This guy was never a martial artist; he was a brawler and was only in the UFC because of his backyard fight videos. He would have never booked a single fight in professional MMA had he not had those videos.
Kimbo was a beast but knowledge will always beat strength in the ring
