  • Thank you for these exercises and Kicking stances. This is a good refresher course! I learned Martial Arts when I was a boy because both myself and my Dad exercised every evening for about an hour after our dinner settled. My Dad was a Soccer Player and had a wall full of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals ftom his Track and Field Events from 18 into his twenties in the Philippines, including the Asian Olympic Games in Manila! Master Ahn in Cincinnati at that time taught Korean Karate Taekwondo. We spent several years going two or three nights a week. To this very day I still practice my kicks. I just had a total knee replacement and I have been using my Martial Arts Exercises for Therapy. I have been able to bend my knee to the point that I just started walking up and down stairs normally, instead of one step at a time.

Your tutorial was about the same kicks I was taught, anyway, your way of teaching is clear, way to the point, and seemed easy. My personal problem was the stretch of my legs = or the height of kicks I could deliver.

  • Good video and good idea. I still practice RH kicks on the floor to refine technique, not just on the bag (hooks and side kicks also). Fundamentals are always good to practice, for me, because I pick up bad habits during the journey. Thanks for posting, Master Samy.

  • Samery, great video. Thanks. When you chamber your side kick is your heel (kicking foot) slightly to the front of your body or directly in line with your buttocks? Also, do you prefer teaching the front kick from a fighting stance instead of from a front stance?
