In this video i show how to forge Petersen G-type Viking Age spear. It is re-creation of the archaeological find from Trelleborg (Denmark). То forge it I used wrought iron wagon axel - core, low C stell (early Bessemer steel) - socket and pattern welded bilet I forge out of the medium and high C stell - cutting edges.

    • the rod i put into the socket during forge welding is hot, very hot

    • @@CChan11 The rod is thick and won't heat up as quickly as the thin-walled socket will. The socket is probably not tight on the rod when in the fire as well.
