Unlike the hardware market, the display market is actually really good at the moment. Even the more budget friendly options can trade blows in some areas with the midrange. I'm currently on a ASUS ROG Swift 1440p 240hz IPS panel with GSync Ultimate and Freesync support as well as HDR, but my old Acer 144hz IPS bought in 2019 is far from a slouch, especially considering it was only £350 back then. I recently built a budget PC for a friend and was looking at some under £200 1440p 144hz and 1080p 165hz options and they were all really impressive compared to the washed out 1080p TN panels you had to settle for in that price point 4-5 years ago.
Yess!! Thanks so much man! Honestly your channel is just my go to content
I appreciate that!
I went from a 1080 tn panel, to a 1440p ips panel with hdr support. So much improvement in color accuracy/richness and visual clarity.
I just plug my ps5 into my existing 60 inch 2120p TV . Playing a PS5 game while sitting at a desk in a chair rather than laying on a couch would suck .

Got the LG oled monitor in this vid. Got it at a discounted price at a store close to me for 650€. Since I love playing singleplayer games and am used to OLED screen quality from my LG CX I really wanted to go for an oled one and was already fond with LG. I knew that I was spending a lot of money on a monitor but it is just the best of both worlds for me since I like playing competetive multiplayer games aswell. And I dont really mind the darker brightness since the room I am using it in rarely has any direkt sunlight coming in. Couldn't be more happy.
I love these comparison videos bro.
Glad you like them!
Definitely recommending this to my friends building a setup. Great vid spawnpoint
Great interview! Keeping up the great work 👍
Seriously impressive video. I am sold on the budget monitor and going to be picking it up soon! Really well done on covering all important points!
Did you buy it?
How is it?
I had that OLED monitor but decided to return it and bought a 55” C2 instead. What an amazing TV for my PC and PS5.
Got a 48 C2. I'm still in awe of it.
How far do you sit away from your TV when you use it with your PC? I was thinking about getting 42” C3 but I feel like it's going to be too big for my liking.
@@JabiPapi I have a desk setup with a 27” 1440p monitor, my TV is on another side of my bedroom and I use a 15ft HDMI 2.1 cable to play on it. I sit about 6ft away from it, I play mostly single player games so I use a controller. When I feel like playing something competitive I hop on my desk setup. For a 42”, you’d need a pretty deep desk (like 30” deep and more) if you play on KBM, with a controller you can always sit further.
Loving your videos thanks

@@SpawnPoiintcant get it sweden🙂😔🫤😕
Man it's really insane how cheap gaming monitors are now, as u got 1440p 144hz for $150 time flies man 3 years ago I bought 1080p 165hz for $200 & back then it was a great buy.
Totally agree, they will only get cheaper too. A few years and it'll be 4K.
I wanted 1440p @120Hz+ but in a 24" screen only due to my dual screen setup for work and play. It just sucks that they don't make much out there with these specs. I ended up recently picking up two DELLs 1080p @ 165Hz IPS for $150 each but I had a reward that brought it down to $120 each. At that lower price I'm ok with 1080p. One key factor as well is that my work hub only outputs to 1080p @ 60Hz so I wasn't going to be able to fully benefit from the upgrade. I was coming from two work issued DELL 22" 1080p @ 60Hz. I just wanted something bigger but not as big as 27" as that would require a lot of movements from my eyes and head.
@@volcalstoneI’m honestly surprised no manufacturer has jumped on making 1440p 24-25 inch monitors.
I spent $1,000 on a 43 inch Monitor with 120/144hz support and has two 2.1hdmi slots and yada yada. After seeing this video I feel like a $135 monitor would've been completely fine for my PS5, I could've saved so much money 😭
VA
Such a nice comparison !!!
Thank you 🙏
dude this is the video I needed. saving up for an OLED ultrawide but still needed a second monitor.
great review, however it is near-impossible for a VA panel monitor (other than samsung's notorious odyssey g7 / neo series panels) to deliver a good response time performance. the company can legally rate it 1ms because they can advertise on a single frame that had the minimum response time, however a va panel will have over 15-20 ms response time in dark to light transitions, which will cause black trails and va crush on dark to light transitions. how much is this noticable and bothersome is entirely dependent on the user, it bothered me a lot when i used a va panel 1440p 165hz monitor on pc.
Just picked up the LG 32uq750p 32" VA 133Hz monitor, and the white may not be QUITE as crisp as an IPS panel, blacks and darker areas in games are a lot better, and to get the equivalent 32" 144hz monitor with an IPS panel would have been at minimum double the price. The other major issue i see people have with VA panels is the viewing angels and tbh, on the 32" VA panel monitor i got, i cant really tell the difference between looking at directly from the front compare to from the side.
So you say it has 15-20 Response time 😳
The cost difference is hard to swallow with the OLED, especially if you can't take advantage of the refresh rate. If my PC couldn't do 200+ fps at 1440p in Apex, I would not have bought the LG OLED. I will vouch for the picture quality on the OLED, it's a bit better than IPS in SDR, but in HDR there is just no denying OLED is king. The brightness/fringing is for sure a downside but you forget about it as soon as you see your game boot up in HDR.
Totally fair comment, and I agree with you too.
Amen 🙏, I use mine with my ps5 and I have no regrets
@@SpawnPoiintbro will the price of oled 1440p come down in upcoming time like 2 3 years to 500 dollar range ? This is too much over priced i feel

i managed to get a 165 hz 1080p monitor for 98$ open box. Killer deal!
There was a time where PS5 wouldnt let hdmi 2.0 ports accept a 120hz refresh rate. Only when they released the 1440p update is when it just started working. I had a cheap samsumng model, so when the 1440p update was activated and i could finally use 120hz it felt so much better. However, the monitor i had didnt support VRR and i felt it really needed it for COD. So i ended up upgrading to a 4k, 32" samsung monitor.
32" is kinda huge screen size though!

You can get a hdmi splitter that will allow you to get 4k 60fps with the monitor.. I bought it from Amazon and it shows 4k 60hz on both ps5 and Xbox 😉
My splitter does 4K 60fps HDR. That's not the problem, the problem is the monitor itself is 1440p.
@@SpawnPoiint yeah but the picture will still look crispier than if I never had the splitter.. bare in mind, i use this monitor in my work place and it’s a old 1080p dell monitor.. I mainly use the splitter since it has a optical port for my Astro a50

I got two oled tvs, one is 48” c1. Been thinking of getting a smaller display but don’t want to spend much. Might pull the trigger on this one.
You could honestly spend a little bit more and go for the Lenovo G27q-30, it even supports HDR and is extremely competitive for what it's offering at that price point. I ended up getting this monitor when I first bought my PS5, and I'm still using it as my laptop's primary monitor as well. If I were to build a PC, I'd definitely get another one of these as a 2nd monitor. OLED is really nice and all, it's just the price range of OLED monitors makes it a bit of a harder purchase. Definitely worth it if you have the money to splash tho.
Totally agree, but I wanted to go as cheap as possible without sacrificing specs.

Maybe I just had a faulty one but I found other people had the same issues as me with the koorui so i assumed it was true for all of them but mine had this terrible ghosting issue that made playing fps games completely unplayable but good to see it does actually work well cause for $150 the colors look amazing and you really dk notice the 1440p

Playing on an 80"+ projector is even better. Small screens are for high performance PCs with high performance high dpi mouse and the big screens are for consoles in the living room. Trying to make a console into a mouse and keyboard less gaming PC is absurd. Consoles don't need more than 60fps because the analog sticks have very very very low response time and precision and can't even keep up with fast framerates lol.

I think the LG oled monitor should of been cheaper and be 4k. Its 2023 and oled technology should be getting cheaper
1440p is a far more popular resolution option for PC. Plus 240hz at 1440p looks incredible. Not surprising it's as expensive as it is as there are very few OLED monitors on the market. My GF got me this monitor for Valentine's Day and I couldn't be more happy with it. It's a serious upgrade if you're coming from your old tv or basic monitor. The price is a little higher right now but when I goes down, I'll be getting one for the Mrs.
Kooroi also has VRR if you use xbox. That hdmi 2.1 is ps5 limitation.
What settings did you use on the budget monitor to get the best picture quality?
Ive just bought the exact monitor linked in the description and it doesnt do 1440p 120hz, the settings menu on my monitor are not the same as in the video. Seems there's no way to tell which revision you will get. Such a shame really. Think you got lucky with yours
Considering getting this for my PS5. What settings should I adjust to make the picture look decent? I heard out of the box the picture is horrible.
I have this oled 27in LG for about 8 months now and I tried playing on a 42in LG C2 tv as well to the comparison; the 27in monitor wins hands down. I play on ps5 mostly Apex Legends and FP games (Gow, Spiderman, Horizon, etc.), I noticed the c2 being a little grainy compared to my monitor. The only con is that the monitor doesnt get too bright, but if you're fine with that youll love the monitor and it's vibrant colors. The monitor really shines in a dark settings, for example when you're inside a cave in GOW or playing in a night scene. If you have the money and are looking for the best of the best (for console), this 27in Oled LG is the best.
any burn in yet? I saw rtings video on this display and it already had burn in :(
@Whiteshade damn that sucks, nope I haven't had any burnt in. I try not to leave it in rest mode. When I finish playing and it does its image cleaning, I turn it back on after 10-15 mins to see the message image cleaning complete then turn off the monitor. I do it because I never turned off the monitor when it goes into image cleaning mode so I think it does the cleaning then goes into rest mode.
