CORRECTIONS - The caption reads 144hz for the Alienware ultrawide OLED but it's actually up to 175hz; The AOC 24G2SPU is also listed as 144hz, but is 165Hz. Apologies for these, we will put an extra level of checks into our video review stage to prevent these in the future
This video is a bit to nerdy for me to understand so I’m gonna just ask if I have a budget of 250$ what monitor should I get I’ve been looking everywhere and I can’t decide I want to get a 1440p monitor I know that for sure though please help me
@PcCentric you should do a build in the MSI MEG Prospect 700r case I just bought it for my build and I would love for a bunch of other people to know about this case
How about a ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM for 1080p gaming ?
The monitor goes on sale every now and then so worth waiting!
@@zazaman9991 i would go for the asus tuf gaming monitor it foes for $200-$250
Dude just tell me a monitor
😭😭
Monitor
Hey I literally started researching monitors just yesterday. This video came in a perfect timing for me! Thank you!
Just wanna say thank you! Cause I’m about to get my first PC and had no idea what monitor to get and had no PC knowledge whatsoever!
Just wanna say thank you for your channel and your bizarrely perfectly timed videos related to my needs. I got a huge bonus this year for the holidays and its been about 8 years since I last built a rig so I'm gearing up to go from several generations out of date to top of the line and your content is catching me up in record time with excellent recommendations across the board. Very excited to see what sales come along this holiday season and see what I can get to assemble next year!
What is your budget or what is going to be your budget when you buy the parts? Are you going with an all white or all black build? For the gpu amd or nvidia? For the cpu amd or intel? Will you buy the top of the line?
Haha we are living similar lives my friend :)
gotta love the burn in while you were talking about having no burn in
I absolutely LOVED this edit.
Such a troll, i was worried
Thank you, this review has opened me to more possibilities and what I want for the games I play and the area I will be viewing the screen!
Great video and very informative! Thank you for helping me figure out what monitor I should get. Cheers
This was such a well put together video. It really helped me buy my next monitor.
Thank you for your guide ! It really helps!
How did you know I was looking for a gaming monitor? I was literally super confused what to pick and then you show up with this video :D
I got a Cooler Master GA271 which set me back £140 Not actually that bad for the price, 1440p at 27” with HDR (not the best but fine) VA at 100Hz, so not the best panel, but hey for the price it’s bloody amazing, and a great budget option
My next monitor and TV both will be OLED but I will use what I have until they die! My monitor is actually a Monoprice Darkmatter, it is 27" 1440p 180hz with an IGZO-IPS panel. I have NEVER been satisfied when viewing the UFO test until doing so on this monitor. Virtually no blur/ghosting, it is incredible! I was suckered in to buying monitors with VA panels in the past due to their much higher contrast ratios but I learned the hard way that the motion blur and ghosting was abysmal.
awesome video marcus!!! I personally have a samsung odyssey neo g8 at a steal of a price so it's amazing. This video is super helpful/informative for anyone who's brand new to this kind of stuff as well
Super helpful and educational vid man. Thank you
Love ur content man
Thanks for this informative video.
I ordered the AlienWare DWF a few days ago and can't wait to set it up, I'm using it in your "worst-case scenario", I'm extremely excited!
Theres no way im looking for a gaming monitor and this guy makes a video! Perfecto ^^
wow, I just watched this video, right after I had just ordered my Alienware AW3423DWF, thank god you think its great! Cheers from Canada!
extremely helpful!
Love all these options!
Straight to the point, great video
19:50 Exactly! 4K 32” OLED monitors are what I’m waiting for.
Asus just released one it’s all sold out tho at $1200
Hi, loved your video 👌🏽 i have a 4070ti super and i5 13600kf. Is the G7 still a good buy? My son and i mainly play fortnite and warzone.
I own both the Corsair Flex 240Hz and Alienware AW3423DW 175Hz OLED monitors, and for gaming, the Corsair Flex with its 800R is by far the best gaming monitor I've owned to date. Absolutely once there's a 5K version of it, hopefully 500Hz DP 2.x OLED, I'll buy it. OLED is absolutely capable of 1kHz /
i agree!! i love my flex so much
what about burn in risk?
@@tadejdanev5030 .. If you leave it on CNN 24/7 without following the pixel refresh guidelines, sure after about 6 months, maybe a year you'll have burn in. Otherwise for everyday use in gaming and following the refresh when it tells you to do it. Hell no!
On mid to high-end oled displays, some brands use technologies to prevent the burn in of screens. Basically, if the screen detects a static image in a region of the display, it will cycle it by a one pixel margin in a circular pattern so that the pixels are actually refreshed.
what brand and series?
@muhammadzhafranabdurrahim I know that Corsair and LG monitors have it. You can look up the XENEON 27QHD240 OLED and XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 OLED for example.
Yeah I'd be surprised if the OLED options didn't offer a Pixel Shift feature. LG has been putting that in their TVs for a decade.
I've found OLED to be particularly bad for screen burn, even with the pixel refresh on. This is particularly frustrating for gaming given the common presence of a HUD which is in the same place for long periods of time. This is with LG and Samsung products, for reference. I have personally gone back to LED and higher refresh rates until this technology matures a little further.
I bought the OLED PG27AQDM when it dropped on the market...and it is indeed the monitor to have. It's UNBELIEVABLE❤️🔥👑
Love the video! I recently just purchased a new monitor for my series x and would like to hear your thoughts on it. It’s an Alienware AW2724DM 1440p 27in with 165hrtz and 180?hrtz over clock capable.
Thanks sir!
That Alienware with letters and numbers for a name is absolutely stunning in it's simplicity.
I got a Lenovo 1080p 144hz IPS 24" monitor for £109 on Black Friday. I could spend £1k on a monitor if i wanted to, but honestly the experience is fantastic. The only upgrade I'd make is OLED or 360hz. I've a owned QHD high refresh monitor before, and I prefer 1080 for value and nailed high FPS.
lenovo😂😂😂
I just got the Samsung g8 oled yesterday. It is amazing. Went from a 299 aoc 390 hz. I was going from trying to be the best to now wanting to look the best. I love it
i just got the Alienware AW2724DM thanks to another youtuber review love the monitor. got it open box like new for 250
Excellent choices gentlemen
Great video like always but i can't wait for qd oled 4k 32" of Alienware
Hey, love your vids! Can you test the LG 24GQ50F-B?
literally just got YOUR monitor from Amazon, the Alienware for my gaming pc w the Geforce 3070 super graphics card. Been searching for a while this vid clinched it, can't wait to see the result
Could you do a review of the AOC 24G2ZE and the U version please there’s not a ton of reviews out there and it would really help. Thanks😁
I have a question regarding the AOC 24G2SPU - since it only supports 1.4 HDMI, can it actually do 120Hz at 1080p? I'm looking to get a budget gaming monitor for my PS5 slim. I'm a casual gamer who plays both FPS and adventure games (i.e. Spider-man 2).
OLED, even if it's a lower 120Hz refresh rate. There is nothing like an OLED.
Man speaks the truth. Bought an LG C2 to go with my 4090 build... Dear Gawd. RE4 remake on HDR... Disgustingly pretty. I've never stared at a puddle in a game so long.
QD-OLED babbbyyyyy
monitor wise they are great. dont recommend to use tvs for pc gaming though. i have a lg c2 and with gsync you do get quite a bit of vrr flicker with it. got myself a lg monitor and its much better. just use my c2 for tv and console gaming
@@ninjapirate47 i went with an all white full tower build with the gigabyte aero oc 4090/ 7800x3d/ 64 gigs of ddr5 on my lg c1 and damn do games look good.
@@giarc00007 Also a C2 user. You need to cap 5fps below max refresh rate to prevent pixel overdrive. You also need to always stay at the max capped refresh rate in order not to experience flicker. I only notice the flicker with loading screens and sometimes in static menus. Having said that you do need a beefy GPU...at least RTX 4080 for all eye candy.
I have the AOC Q24G2A 24" 1440p gsync 165hz IPS panel. I was looking for that size with that res for years, now I'm happy 😁😎🎅
@PcCentric so between Samsung OLED monitor and Alienware OLED which will you pick if budget isn’t an issue
Can you please test the CoolerMaster tempest 4k monitor? Ive been interested in it, but not too sure cause of older reviews and the earlier software issues. Im interested to see an updated review, also from a channel I trust.
would the AOC 24G2SPU Budget Gaming Monitor be good for a nintendo switch? looking to get a cheap and cheerful option for my daughter to play on instead of handheld
Thank you for your guide 😊😊😊
Most welcome!
@@PcCentricany opinion on 27 vs 32 inch 4k monitor since u tried out I'm a person who had a laptop on which I played gta at 30 fps valorant at 60 etc.. so for me idk wheter I can even notice this huge high class stuffs like 1440p vs 4k or 144 vs 240hz I'm never used to any pricey things so what is ur opinion will those matter to normies like me
Dear @PC Centric i already ordered the 4k oled 240hz alienware and i'm coming from 4k 27inch ips panel. but i want to know for pc gaming and desktop use is the alienware dwf qd oled 2k better or atleast same then the 4k ips panel , because at the moment there isn't any 4k ultrawide oled on the market, thank you
I am deciding between the AOC miniLED 1440P VA or the Asus Oled pg27aqdm 1440P for all types of use except working, especially for playing, consuming content on the Internet such as KZhead, Twitter, searching for information and browsing pages and I read a comment that at 60 Hz it is not They work well as if it were an LED, I don't know if that's true, what do you recommend?
hello there soo im tossing up between the Alien and the G9 57 which would you be leaning towards
Im considering a 1440p ultrawide oled. Im not sure about the curved monitor tho and also not sure what it will do to output on a twitch or discord stream (going from ultrawide to normal aspect ratio)
Nice touch putting the burn in on the screen and making me freak out lol
I've had the AW3423DWF for a few months now, it's amazing lol.
Is the samsung odessey neo g7 any good? Order are there any other monitors you recommand?
Just picked up the AOC Q24G2A still in the box but it’s great for its price, I paid 179€ so I think it was a really good deal
Quick question? Would the asus rog 27" oled be a good pick for playing cod on xbox series x?
what are ur thoughts on the benq mobiuz ex2510s? and also isit btr than aoc 24G25PU
I have the curved version of the 32 inch gigabyte and i confirm that its fantastic. Great image quality, nice colours high refresh rate and 4k
for how long have you had it and any issues
@@joshuajeftha8536 I've had it since November 2022 no issues at all highly recommend
Hi. If you had to pick between the Alienware AW2723DF or the LG 32GQ850-B, what would you choose for primarily gaming with occasional media use? Is LG 32GQ850-B on 32" as crisp as Alienware AW2723DF on 27"? Wich one is visually better and crisp image and provides a better experience mostly in gaming? Thank you in advance for your answer!
Hey would you be able to do the updated Alienware dwf same as your dw just updated I’m debating on which one to go with and I love your content please do!!!!
What do you think of the Samsung Odyssey G70B? I'm thinking of buying but I would like to know if it is a good monitor, especially for an Xbox. Thanks.
Up until a year ago I had an UW 34" 165Hz monitor. I loved it. But then I bought the 42" LG C2. I have no plans to change it anytime soon, it's amazing! My nephew now has my old 34" UW.
i have the 48. No idea why i'd ever use anything else now!
I'm looking for a 27" 4K 240Hz OLED gaming monitor that also supports HDMI 2.1. Is there anything in the market right now or better to wait towards the end of the year for new technology?
4k 120hz Samsung 55 here, and it´s perfect.
Play on Xbox Series X, What monitor do you recommend? Would like a 4k, but not sure if 1080p looks good or not good.
What monitor would you recommend for a ps5? Preferably 2.1 hdmi display
You should review the ASUS TUF Gaming 27" 1440P HDR Monitor (VG27AQ3A). It’s the one I’ve been looking to get. It’s pretty cheap for what you get.
As a Gigabyte M34WQ daily driver, I can confirm it's well worth a punt if you're looking for a budget ultrawide that can double-up as a work monitor. The built-in KVM switch is what convinced me to invest, and being able to click a button at 5pm and instantly switch from my various Excel work spreadsheets to gaming in 1440p, 144hz glory is brilliant.
How does the kvm work with a second monitor which doesn’t have the switch?
Do you have ultrawide head with eyes on the side or you sit 10 meters away
@@Arney0408it doesn't unfortunately, though it works for me as I usually have KZhead or Netflix playing on the second monitor from my PC, while I have the work laptop up on the Gigabyte - the switch makes flipping back and changing videos pretty painless. But yeah definitely something to consider if that's a deal breaker.
@@Blackstar-ti4pyI've not found it a problem tbf! I personally find 34 inches to be about the sweet spot for sitting at the desk (I would say my desk is about average size) and not finding it uncomfortable.
@PcCentric What would the best panel be for both image editting /productivity and gaming?
Do you think you could test the LG 32" Ultra-Gear QHD (2560 x 1440) 165 hz Gaming Monitor? I bought this and I want to know your thoughts on how it runs in performance for fps games and video quality for things like watching movies or shows
When it comes to HDR one thing I'm confused about is for example with ASUS OLED laptops. I can pick in the myasus app the DCI-p3 colour profile or the viviid DCI-P3 coloor profile but then I can't stream HDR video content on youtube, I have to enable HDR in windows 11 but by doing that I can't use any of the MyAsus colour profiles, so am I missing out? What kind of HDR is windows using, is as good as the colour profiles in the myasus app? It's really confusing as I'm not sure if its using the entire colour space, windows is not clear about that.
Hey what are you thoughts on Samsung odyssey G51C?? I just purchased it and I wanna know if it’s good
Any input, 2cents or suggestion is appreciated: Currently, I can't decide between a 38 inch curved or non-curved UltraWide. Its between nano IPS vs normal IPS and 3840x1600 vs 3440x1440 (or 12:5 vs 21:9), which is -even if small, probably a noticeable difference in PPI to me in this ratio. They're both 144hz, which is what I'm aiming for. I'm buying the UW for productivity and I also do a little casual gaming of various types. It will replace my current 27inch 1440p ,144hz screen. The curved nano IPS 12:5 screen by LG is twice as expensive though and I'm not sure if its worth it. I'm worried the 12:5 aspect ratio could be even more of an "issue" with certain games than 21:9 already is. If the LG was OLED I wouldn't have hesitated for the price but.. its not. TIA
I have a 38 inch UW thats 3840x1600 and it is a noticeable difference (at least for me) compared to a 3840x1440 in terms of the amount of code I can fit vertically. It's an IPS, and I don't have any experience with nano IPS so I can't comment. I have a 27 1440p actually above the 38 inch as well. I've casually played some games on the UW (Doom, CS 1.6), and it's 60Hz so meh. In your boat, I'd personally opt for the 3840x1600. I refuse to go to a 3840x1440 at least if I intend to use it for productivity. Gaming wise I didn't notice anything in doom at least. Good luck.
I'm use 3 years MSI Optix MPG341CQR Monitor. SUPER for gaming
Thanks for a great Gaming Monitor guide! PC Centric, if you hadn't had that Alienware Monitor, what other monitor would you have chosen to use? Would you have chosen one of all the ones you mentioned in your video, or would you have chosen a completely different one, if so which one?
So for me personally, the 38 inch version of the Alienware ultrawide is best, as I mainly do video editing and love ultrawide, but if I was going to buy one, i'd get the OLED!
And which one isnt alienware 😂
I've been researching 1440p monitors for hours and after coming to the conclusion that the GP27Q is the best 1440p monitor, I find a video that supports my opinion. it's unfortunate that I can't find it where I'm from and importing it would almost double the price. what is the best second option in your opinion? I'm looking for a QHD monitor with good HDR and 2.1 HDMI
If I’m on a series x and want to stick with Lg is the 2795qe my best option or is there a 32” curved option with 2.1hdmi?. Needing a upgrade bc I play on a old Vizio lcd tv 32”
If the monitor does not have a display port of 1.4, is there any benefit in having a refresh rate of more than 144 hz? For example some monitors are 165 to 180 hz and also feature hdr10 which is unable to run 1.2 displayport. So where is the benefit?
im building my pc currently and i have rtx 4070 gpu i7 13000kf 850 psu, i was thinking of a 32" curved 1440p monitor. which one should i get 300-400$ budget
Wait so ive been seeing videos about monitors and im thinking about buying one. do i need a console in order to use it or could i use windows 11 and download games from there??
What are you opinions on the ASUS TUF VG27AQ1A monitor?
Any thoughts about the LG UltraGear 27GR93U-B? thinking about buying that one
Yea see that guy at the end pic'd the monitor im looking to get, I would wait for the 4k 240HZ Asus rog OLED thats coming out but 32' is to big for FPS gaming IMO
All I want is a 27" 4K OLED 144Hz gaming monitor with HDMI 2.1 and USB-C charging (and preferably a built-in KVM)
I have a xbox series x a ps5 and a rog ally i really want to put everything in one big desk set up any advice i know the curves monitors strech the consoles image im just looking for a decent size monitor any ideas ?
I have the lg c2 and love it.
I just got the asus 1440p 360hz ips and I’m super close to exchanging it for the oled 240hz. I have a pretty high end system and CONSISTENT 360fps or higher isn’t always attainable but 240 is. (For me anyways)
Can we use freesync with nvidia gpu. What will be the difference in performance output and what all are the cons?
For me 27" 165hz 1440p mini LED upstairs and 55" 4k 120hz 4k mini LED downstairs. Perfection
Mini led all way... No burn in or pixel degradation
Buying LED in 2023 is a waste of money
What are your thoughts on a Dell 34 Curved Gaming Monitor - S3422DWG?
I’m an artist and a gamer and just bought a truly beastly new computer. I’m so overwhelmed by all these choices! Do they have hybrid monitors for both gaming and art?
Would the AOC 24G2SPU be good for ps5?
ahhh, i always wouderd why my monitor glows and now i know i was looking to updrage my two samsung odyssey g7s to one odyssey oled g9 what are your thoughts?
I'm glad I came across this video. Very informative. However since I started off as a Console gamer (PS5) with a LG C1 and now into the PC world. I kinda wish there was a 4K monitor with a fast response time, but also offers 2k-1440P for competitive gaming. Maybe 2025? lol
It was hard to decide between the ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP 540hz TN with 1080p and ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQN 360hz IPS with 1440p...but hopefully I made the right decision going with the PG27AQN, any thoughts on that? Great review, thank you.
If u are a competetive player than u should always go for the higher hz
@@MultiKingsalmon i mainly play CS2 but I want something from both worlds…1080p TN in 2024 doesn’t feel right even at 540hz I don’t think is worth it 1k for that panel.
540hz seems retarded lmao try 360hz first lmao.
Is there any gaming monitor that support displayport 2.1? My GPU has displayport 2.1 and hdmi 2.1. What I understand is that displayport is the better choice for PC gaming, so it would be nice to find a gaming monitor that has the same support.
You think the odyssey g7 (2020) is still worth it? Really want a VA because of the contrast but am not ready to spend for OLED. Thanks!
G6 better or aoc miniled 1440P 180hz is the best
What monitor would you go with out of these two? I'm getting an RTX 4070 Super and it is between these two (no clue if there are others worth it or not but these are the two I found and like) 1: ASUS TUF Gaming 27” 1440P HDR Monitor VG27AQ3A 2: HP OMEN 27q QHD 165Hz Gaming Monitor, QHD Display Please let me know!
Cant wait for a full review of the asus rog pg32ucdm oled 4k 240hz when it comes put im going to trade in my neo g9 for that monster
When you get the lg 49 inch ultra wide 240 hertz refresh rate curved monitor please do a detailed vid thanks
There’s always one so it’s gonna be me. What would you recommend monitorwise on a £300 budget? Ideally I’d like 1440p not to worried about refresh rate as mainly play single player titles.
I had been running an LG 27” 1440p 144hz since 2020. Cost me £500, now worth about £200 but solid monitor. Can’t go wrong with LG
