You know it’s going to be a violent tornado when it has multiple vortices like that
It's not normal
Yes, it's going to be very Violent.
They usually are around ef4 or ef5
@DustinKayBliss Uh, yes it is lol. It's happened many times before, mainly El Reno in 2013.
@@Trahzy Not as big as it is now 😊. And it is not stopping soon.
I live in Iowa. I’m still in my basement with my family and dogs! Prayers for everyone with me
What part of Iowa is this hitting? I hope you are safe.
@@jessicaanderson7885 I’m not gonna say exactly where because safety reasons but it’s hitting around Des Moines. Storms have been continuous but I’m not sure if we are within the circle anymore!
Weather person: Cant get any closer Reed Timmer: Hold my Celsius we goin in
When they went around the cop car I was like.... Y'all got different laws over there or what? We'd get pulled over for ignoring an officer impeding traffic.......
Of all the scary things on the planet, tornadoes have to be the scariest.
Hurricanes, They're like tornadoes but FOR HOURS Huge 10 to 15 foot storm surge as well in the most significant of storms
Yeah but with hurricanes 🌀 you have time to evacuate tornadoes 🌪 not so much.
Hurricanes and wildfires can be more widespread and last longer (especially fires). Earthquakes imo are by far one of the most frightening things I personally have experienced, M6.0 + and nowhere to hide unless somehow you can remain airborne lol. Every natural disaster can seem to be the scariest of them all. Derechos, volcanic eruptions, you name it
Giant Tsunami wave would be scary af too.
I’m in Iowa right now, pray for me please.
Prayers sent

Are you and your family ok now ?
This is just like the El Reno tornado, except it's not rain-wrapped so you can actually see what's going on. Freaking insane. Absolutely spectacular footage, and I really hope this was farmland and that was maybe an outbuilding of some kind that was hit and not someone's house, car, etc that was smoking while it was being flung.
no minden iowa sadly took a direct hit with one injury and no reported deaths
This is like the multi-votex tornado that ripped thorough Wichita Falls Texas on April 10 1979 with as many as six separate tornadoes orbiting the main tornado.
That's what this reminds of. At one point I counted 7 vortexes in this tornado
My grandparents helped clean up after that storm. They had 50 or so pictures they took. My aunt has them now, but I had never sewn destruction like that until they showed me the pictures when I was about 11 or 12. It looked like the town had been bombed. I was only 3 years old when it happened. I have only seen destruction in person once and that was the 2003 Moore tornado. I live in Texas and pray to never experience it for myself. I hate that anyone has to endure that kind of fear and destruction. I'm praying for everyone that has been affected by these monsters over the last few days! ❤
oh dear god please protect the people and animals 😢
Lord protect all, this is a monster
Commenting from omaha Ne it was really bad. It ended up being an F5 the worst we’ve had in 11 years. It was one building away from hitting me… This is unbelievable so many houses are destroyed just going home from work dozens of ambulances and police cars driving by me. These poor people who’s houses were destroyed my friends family coworkers so much gone
I’m in iowa I can agree
It has not been confirmed to be an EF5 tornado yet. The national weather service has to come in and survey damage before that is confirmed.
He said f5 not ef5 when will you guys realise they're 2 different things lol@@Longdistance4life
@@willekewk the Fujitsu scale has not been used since 2007. It has been the Enhanced Fujita scale since then, hence why I used the EF. The statement still stands, until the national weather service can come in and do a survey we will not know the true strength.
@@Longdistance4life when people say f5 they mean winds above 200mph not ef5 so no it does not stand
They call it deadman walking, when it’s a multi vertex tornado. Scary stuff
But beautiful.
No one is talking about the cars just driving along...
Those are storm chasers
Praying for everyone. I know the chasers and announcers get excited and adrenaline. Just hope that wasn’t a house when they talk about the smoke at the 4:35 mark.
Another tornado formed after this one and did the exact same thing.
Yeah it was crazy that day

Wedge tornado, multi vortex, dead man walking... Prayers for Nebraska and Iowa...
Dead man walking??
@freddiecunningham2860 the multi vortices create a dead man walking hang man effect.
@@freddiecunningham2860the most infamous example is the 1997 EF5 Jarrell Tx tornado
@@freddiecunningham2860 When a vortex creates 2 (or more) tornados from the same cell, as they swirl around each other it can often look like legs walking across the landscape. Absolutely terrifying and beautiful at the same time. I believe the name originates from a native tribal legend, though unfortunately I can't remember specifically which.
@@cullenterry2450 looked it up last night. That thing is the stuff of nightmares
This could be a world record. A four mile wide debris ball?!? It's almost a number you would joke about. This tornado is once in a lifetim.e, and this footage is the first of its kind. Like seeing El Reno 2013 but if there was no rain in the way.
Definitely a record. El Reno may have had highest wind speed ever recorded on earth. Debatably 302-318 mph
Omg , how do you even try to escape something like that???
A debris ball is different from a tornado width or damage track. A debris ball is using radar reflectivity that reflects unnatural objects in the air instead of rain, and these objects could have been lofted 1/2 mile away or more on every side of the tornado. This is a better indicator of intensity than size.
Nonsense. It's just an every year regular tornado like all the others.
@@FLORIDA_MAN_813 Debris ball means nothing.
Damn I was on Fred's stream when I saw this, that tornado is from hell
First of all I’m a ww2 daughter and I’m from Texas and have family in Nebraska and we were all worried. I got caught near it but luckily I was able to change my tire and get out of harms way.
The traffic jam is due to storm chasers gone wild.
Is the footage one of them? How tf they just go around a cop car and they let it go..... Ppl get pulled over for that.....
This is terrible. I hope everyone stays safe.
Excellent coverage . Ty !
I know what those suckers are capable of being from Oklahoma tornado Alley!! We have F5s here!
Great video footage Brett Adair
May my fellow Americans remain safe.
My brother and sister in law is in Glendale but I don’t know the county. This looks bad.
I lived thru multi F5…I could hear three vortex while my house was being destroyed. Debris hello they found some of pictures 100 miles away.

People don't understand tornadoes can shift at any given time and goes straight for you because it sucks in the wind you're not going to be able to outrun it because you're being held back even with an aerodynamic car
We are in Portsmouth and heard it go past us. It was terrifying 💔
Thank God you're safe!

Fatalities in the NE/IA area?
Only 2 ( last to my knowledge ) with minor wounds

I hope there ok
