We have the 2015 model and just wish that the rear opening hatch window is there for the new model. It makes loading stuff a lot easier. Just my 2cent

Same. We have a 2016. This feature is so useful that's it's almost a deal breaker for us now. Especially since without it we can't get into the trunk when the garage door is closed.
Buy this new Highlander, never lose. Classy and elegant outlook with modern and up end interior as well as very good reliability and strong resell value. This new Highlander would be the leader in its segment and none to second from any equivalent competitor.
I own the 2021 Highlander Platinum equivalent in Australia (Kluger Grande), love it, however the 12.3” display is not available at any cost over here, very jealous! 😀

I have a 2021 Hybrid XLE AWD. Great vehicle overall and the fuel efficiency is the real deal. There are some changes they should make but overall I’m very pleased.

Hey Toyota, is there anyway to we could get full screen navigation or Android Auto/CarPlay on the platinum model? The infotainment gets very distracting when I am driving as there are 2-4 screens that show up and I would rather just see the map/navigation.

My company car is a 2021 Highlander Hybrid LE AWD. However, I consider it FWD with rear assist. Almost 90% of the HP comes from the front end (~30HP rear motor)... It definitely drives like a FWD car, front tires spin so easily upon acceleration. And when’s it’s a little wet, forget about it! Not very optimistic about the winter. I’ve heard some mixed stories from coworkers with the same model... That being said, kudos to Toyota for the standard safety features, including adaptive cruise (are you listening Chevrolet?)
I have had one since 2008. Its 4 wheel drive they are now AWD. They are excellent in the snow. This coming from a 2 time Landcruiser owner. there are not any mixed stories. Excellent vehicle. 13 years old and still going strong
I own a 2015 XLE. 160k with no repairs ever. Would love to have the ability to buy a Highlander Prime. I know it would be expensive, but so much more useable and practice than buying a Tesla for similar money. Plus I know it will run forever.
I agree. They can use the same power train from the RAV4 Prime if they have to. Just a bigger battery for the Highlander. They should put at least a 20kWh battery in. The RAV4 has a 18kWh battery right now and it gets over 30 miles of electric range. So the Highlander Prime should get around that much if they put at least a 20kWh battery in.
Bought the 2021 highlander platinum almost perfect but the blind spot detector should have a camera under that show you when there is a car there . like the Honda CR-V does

The only thing preventing me from buying the new hybrid highlander is that there is no 8 seater trim with birds eye view... I really really wished the hybrid limited still supported bench seats or that hybrid Xle had an option for birds eye view !! Toyota please listen ,

Please bring back bench option for hybrid limited model. Why would you remove it when the non hybrid still supports it !? I was about to purchase the new mode only to find out that 2022 model no longer has that option. Really sucks that 8 seater trims don’t have the option for birds eye view / parking assist. Please allow one of the higher trims to have bench seats !! It’s such a perfect car for me and I’m a long time Toyota owner. The 8 seater not available on limited hybrid is a deal breaker for me :(
I totally agree and I hate captain chairs because you lose a space specially if you have kids. I see it also from safety point if I have the third row down with cargo items in then the middle space between captain chairs will be accessible to cargo items which might fly or thrown onto the passengers at sudden stops.

We have 2009 Highlander Sport, it has 103 k miles on it and i just replaced the water pump and steering problems causing noise. Other than that it is running great, engine is running like it was the 1st day I drove it. I have Toyota since 2001 and reliability is tried and tested. Can't wait to have another highlander XSE in the near future.

Toyota, can you please put the glazed caramel interior from the Highlander into the 1794 edition Tundra, please. It will be perfect. The dark brown color option that I have seen so far is way too dull to compete with the Ram Longhorn or even the Ford King Ranch.
