  • Smart tactic by INEOS (not my favorite team). Because right now they don't have a big threat for the Le Tour. They could be looking for a stage in the mountains. Where Pogacar would not attack and let them take a stage if no harm to him in GC. This is UAE home tour. Give them the benefit to pay dividends later. Smart long thinking.

  • Interesting situation. I think if it's ok for Pogacar to get draft from team cars to get back, then other teams shouldn't pace against him. It would be strange and dangerous to race against someone who is riding between cars.

    @00Visor@00Visor2 жыл бұрын
  • Pog gets back or at least very close... plus there is still a climb stage where Pog could take time on Ganna so Ineos would probably not win so no reason to pace. Just like Armstrong waiting for Ulrich when LA was comfortably ahead on GC, it always pays to be the nice guy when it costs you nothing. You probably can get a favor in the future and give up nothing.

    @Sills71@Sills712 жыл бұрын

Teams and more so DS remember that but as you said in context thats not how ineos would want to win they want yates to outclimb pogacar. He would have been received with hostility, not justifiable, but UAE tour:) Smart move. Excited for the queen stage..just love that tadej takes races so seriously coming off of covid he would be forgiven focusing on Tour like others. He loves to race and obviously im a fan of that style, alla, WVA, rog, MVDP, I know i keep saying it butI really think Gaudu will have great year liege and lombardia showings last year, basque country pulled with Rog and his TT has really improved. • Funny how Bennett did the same to Kooij today as Philipsen did to Groenewegen on stage 1, yet now no one (apart from LR here) talks about it, yet Philipsen was the devil himself according to so many people. It's literally the same thing, except that Bennett closed the gap even faster making it more dangerous!

    @TheRealKingLeopoldII@TheRealKingLeopoldII2 жыл бұрын
    • It can be argued Bennet started his sprint at that point and made no deviations after that, unlike Philipsen who continued deviation long after starting. But you are Belgian so I predict you wont agree.

      @larslosh5598@larslosh55982 жыл бұрын
    • It would likely be a different conversation if Kooij did not have the space to swing around Bennett, and in the end beat him in the sprint - therefore it seemed as though there was less consequence in Bennett's dive to the barriers. But LR did say this was "exactly like Philipsen did in stage 1, and worse than what Richeze did in Tour of Oman". Can't make it the topic of the video every time, but I'm sure all this footage is going into a larger compilation/discussion video of this messy topic.

      @ktakashismith@ktakashismith2 жыл бұрын
    • @@larslosh5598 ha I didn't think of that. it looks like he's already sprinting for a couple seconds, but it's still technically mostly in van Poppel's wheel, so I guess you're right. I still feel like it's just as dangerous, but it's allowed according to the rules. And trust me, I do not care about the nationalities of riders. I'm not patriotic in the slightest.

If I was a big schleck fan I’d have been annoyed by the situation but as a neutral I felt that if I was in contadors position I’d find it very hard to stop and wait knowing that the “other schleck” was the next rider on the climb, which would then give the schlecks a huge advantage when they caught back up.

    • @@superdark813 so you deny riders are using motors , have you not watched videos of bikes wheels speeding up after they crash and the 19 year old women who was baned for having a motor ? and tried to say it was friends bike even though her friend was a different height. You are going to tell me next Armstrong , Ulrich Pantani etc werent doping

      @patthewoodboy@patthewoodboy2 жыл бұрын
    • @@patthewoodboy It has absolutely no thing to do with Armstrong, his time and the physical doping so why are you talking about that ? You don't seem to know much about cycling so maybe you should stop saying shit. Yes some riders used mechanical doping but they are a few and they were caught. Nothing in common with a double winner of the tdf in a professional race. Wheels are made so they move extremely easily with every little touch and have nothing which block them. Just by lifting them from the ground wheels will be rotate. The wheel was turning at a very high speed before the fall so obviously it still has some energy and momentum and if they aren't touching the road anymore they will keep moving

  • Nope , never ever attack the Jersey when someone punctures , like have some of your guys actually raced , come on to take over on GC because of a mechanical to one of your competitors , how weak !!! Now I can hear everyone howling what about a crash , ! If you genuinely go down because of no fault of your own , the Bunch should slow down , if you crash because you are fatigued or go to fast into a corner and deck it, then maybe there is a case for every team for themselves !

    • Etiquette is going sadly you can see it from races to bunch to even social rides. I've been left flogging it and redlining due to being on the back of a lead out group ride then a car causes a wait. You'd always check to see if a rider got caught out at a roundabout etc but I'm seeing less of that. It more about self and getting a ride done and back to whatever people do next. I'd go as far as saying the director should call a slow and wait as a rule.

  • I’ve been trying to think of a term as catchy as ‘Dopestrong’ for Pogacar. ‘Dopgacar’ is a bit rubbish. Yes yes, I know they’re all doing it.
