    • Did it? Why are we not there fighting that war right now? Why, under the auspices of Left-wing politicians that have historically been friendly to Russia, is the Ukraine getting proxy, pussy, aid? Why did they embargo everything but important stuff like oil? They're not stepping up for Ukraine, they're using it as a convenient scapegoat for their own problems, their own terrible economies, their own disastrous social policies, and just like every other country they have claimed to want to help or stick up for, with UKRAINE BEING ONE OF THEM, they're going to abandon that motherfucker the second it stops being convenient. They literally JUST did that - abandoned the NATO oath to protect Ukraine in exchange for nuclear disarmament, but you're SO glad that these people are standing up for Ukraine? Right now, due to their lack of effort, Ukraine is in a war in the first place. A prolonged war it is going to lose as soon as the Left deems the realpolitik usefulness of it over. I wouldn't fuckin' say it if I hadn't lived it TWICE, in Iraq and Afghanistan. I wouldn't say it if I didn't believe the Vietnam veterans or the history of that war. They are going to trash Ukraine, all by themselves, and afterwards, blame the US as a whole so that MORE government-enforced "change' is needed.

You bet those who supported Putin before but see what Russian peace looks like, start having second thoughts. Don't forget, Zelensky was elected, so was Poroshenko. Infact, no pro Russian leader has been elected since the 2014 invasion. You can't force a country of 40 million people to love you by force... a lesson the US learned the hard way.

    • As a Ukrainian I would like our special forces to be able to do such jobs. However, I also do not believe they were able to do it. The cars were parked on a special parking lot which was guarded FSB. It was not just some random place is Moscow. Nevertheless, someone has managed to install an explosive device and detonate it. As much as I hate FSB, I understand that they are not amateurs and it is very unlikely that someone from the outside could have rigged the car. Therefore, the chances of Daria being killed by anyone other than FSB are extremely slim. Also it is worth taking into account that someone has distracted Alexander so that he would not travel with his daughter but would instead travel in a car right behind Daria's. So when Daria's car exploded, Alexander saw it right in front of his eyes. You may call it a coincidence, but it does look like a deliberate execution to tell Alexander that everyone lives under God and God's name begins with a letter "P".

  • How about . . . instead of worrying about Russia's army strength and other status issues . . . how about simply fixing the autocratic, totalitarian society Russians live within? Nobody is trying to invade Russia. The Germans are no longer a threat. The strength of their army should be way down the list of things that need fixing. Focusing on Army strength is to miss the point of what actually needs to be done. How about giving some thought to correcting the bribery, theft, murder, greed, and vodka-saturated top-down system that constitutes the Russian government? There's many faults in any government structure but when it comes to Russia (and Ukraine for that matter), there exists a systemic rottenness that wins the prize. Russians need to address the oppressive system of government they live under. Until they fix oppression and corruption at home, they'll continue to project their own faults onto their neighbors whether it be Georgia or Ukraine or any other state they think they can bully. They need to deal with the nazis at home before they start pointing missles at others.

  • I tell you what... War is the womb for sociopaths. And this is why I'm getting so frustrated over that war. You got good people, that learn how to kill, and start loving it. And that makes them dangerous in civilised society. There is a line you cross, a border. Once you kill someone, you need to learn to how to disconnect yourself from empathy. Because a normal person would not harm another because he can imagine the pain This futile war is not only going to have a toll in gas prices, economy, but it's also gonna weed out the good people in Europe.

    • I like fishing, and I like ducks, but where I grew up, you don't think twice about killing someone who is an antagonist, someone who is ripping you off stealing your things or your money or your people. You better make sure others know this about you, to just survive. And keep everything on an even keel with those around you, whether friends or enemies. Because they would do the same to you, to me. They don't care about my pain, your pain, only care about their own pain, and will do anything to ease it, make it go away. There are many things in life that can disconnect you, me, from empathy. But I still have it, empathy, and knowing right from wrong is what matters, treating others how you would like to be treated, thats important. But you better understand that there are people out there that only see you as in the way, not part of their future, or even in their present. They will use you, if at all possible, to their own agenda, to help them succeed, and if you are not part of that, they'll kick you to the curb, and quite possibly kill you, ruin your name to others, etc etc...

  • Super interesting perspective. History is not just.a hobby but an obsession of mine, having a grandfather that fought in WW2 he sparked my interest. I know it's totally taboo to say anything positive about Russia, and I won't say anything positive about Putin because you simply don't just invade countries like he has done, paranoid need for buffer zone from NATO or not. However, I'll give what I'm seeing from Russian people some credit. During WW2, Germans, more than we think of whom disagreed with Hitler were far less willing to speak out against Hitler's actions, did virtually nothing. Were I Russian I'd be scared. 100 years ago or so when the Czar and his family were taken out we saw a civil war that devastated Russia and led to 70 years of virtual Russian isolation and complete lack of freedoms Russians have enjoyed for 30 years prior to the Ukraine invasion. My question s pretty simple, and I don't know the answer to this, are Russians by and large anti-war now because they are losing or are they deeply and sincerely morally outraged at what is in a massive understatement inexcusable violence inflicted on a neighboring country? There is a huge difference.
