He has absolutely no grace in his game, but he’s so tactical it makes up for it. He’s a very lanky guy and he uses his length and flexibility to create amazing shots. Absolute pleasure to watch because you never know what you’ll get. I love how in a game dominated by topspin he can hit a flatter ball, it throws off so many of his opponents. His height ensures those topspin balls go right in his strike zone and he can hit through the ball. I can’t believe Tsitsipas called him boring. Because in a game flooded with so many cookie cutter players he’s a breath of fresh air.
Same thought with me...i tried to think repeatedly where is the boring inside medvedev playstyle as described by tsitsipas. Most probably tsitsipas is always in jealous mode to medvedev
I actually find him graceful He has very good control over his body and he trusts it completely. He even does unexpected things with such control that he looks like an animated character, and if someone knows my love for animation, they know that this is a compliment. He is also extremely clever and with a good strategy ❤️
Tsitsipas said that? Now, I like Medvedev even more.
Everything looks unorthodox until it becomes a new style......
true
I doubt this will become a new style. Similar to how no one plays like Rafa despite him inspiring millions for a decade and a half
I doubt that anyone can replicate Med's playstyle tho
@@samfitzpatrick7891 but his backhand is more simple to do, I dont know if in a pro level it is
I bet nobody would imitate him lmao...
“I’m like what am I doing” 🤣
😂 yeah! 🔥🎾
He swings like someone cut all of his tendons....fascinating
feels like he's swinging a sword instead of a racket
He plays like an octopus😂 But who cares, he uses that play-style to reach world #3.

As someone who has watched him play in person, I have to say his shot-making is insane. There is no one like him.
I feel like he plays tennis like it's badminton. He makes it look cool and refreshing and fun
@@ayushisharma162 He does have a very refreshing and unique style of play. He has this unorthodox play-style and yet his strokes never look awkward.
Whenever I watch him play, I must say, this guy is absolutely unbelievable! His racket is like a magic stick and his will to win every and the most difficult points from the most difficult positions is unmatched. I feel like we have two guys on tour, that make tennis special and interesting - Nick Kyrgios and Daniil Medvedev. I'm always excited to watch them play and Daniil is my top favourite right now on the ATP Tour.
Another underrated part of Medvedev...his outfits! I love some of the recent kits Lacoste has made for him...much better when the shoes actually match
He is always doing the same backhand pass against tsitsipas 😂 6:28
nostalgic😂
and at break points! tsitsipas gonna have ptsd lmao...
I've already seen exactly the same before 🤔 The Matrix is reloading 😜🤣
lmaooo so true
because tsisipas is slow asf
0:18 - that's all I have to see to to realize what this title means
Became a fan of Daniil after watching him at the US Open back in 2019. I remember I saw him at the final against Rafa. Despite him losing that match, he gained a few fan in me 🙂.
Lol Medvedev has been destroying tsitsipas approach on the backhand since forever
I live for that
Medvedev is the Grand Master of tennis. Hope he wins today. He usually finds a way to think his way out of trouble. Fascinating player and impossible not to like as a person. Seems to have grown up a loads in the last year. Bring it home.
And he won the US Open! Incredibly happy for him 😊👏🏻❤️. Well done Daniil!
Yea! that's all we need; of a young, talented guy with unique movements, however extravagant they may be. It will certainly occupy the highest position of this noble sport quickly.
His backhand is definitely unique!
And solid!
he makes tennis so fun to watch
isn't he orthodox tho? not sure if he's religious or not.

Medvedev improved his forehand a lot. That used to be his inconsistent side, with backhand being his dominant wing. Now he’s got both weapons in addition to an already big serve and an extremely strong mental game. I don’t know if he’ll win against Djokovic tomorrow in AO finals, but there’s no doubt in my mind that he’ll win a slam (possibly multiple) in the future.
I have been watching him for two years, and I cannot figure out what he is doing.
Lmao what about now? 🤣🤣😂
Even his backhand is extremely rare if you look closely, it seems he hits it from below when attacked.
I think it because he is a extremely tall player so that why even hitting from below the impact point is still above the net line.
It is always refreshing to see a new style of playing . Whatever works 😄.

He is si good, it’s unbelievable
I really like him, I commented once, his shots may cannot be the “traditional” onces if I can say that, but very effective. And also, I like a lot his attitude, sometimes he seems to be “rude” but at the end he conquers the crowd, because he is really classy, kind, and very talented.
Always wondered how it worked out with coaches. Mine would hate me every time I did weird stuff. His coaches had to be very open minded to adapt to his technique ! It must have taken some serious results to accept this.
Their coaches might be like: “This looks like is broken, but it’s not, so why should I fix it?” If something works, is better to leave it like that 😂😂😂
Which begs the question, how many great unorthodox talents have we been robbed of by conventionalist coaches?
Dan The Man! Shovel knight in action.
While watching thumbnail of variety shots I was thinking that I am in cricket channel 😂😁
LEGEND
Road to Glory 🎾🏆
He really has such a huge loopy backswing. Yet somehow it works every time. He also shows greater IQ on the court almost better than anyone else. In that sense, he reminds me of Federer.
Incredible
You should have included the laver cup forehand
6:34 the same shot from the ao semis
That backhand reminds me of Jimmy Connors
I think Medvedev is going to rock
He’s not the most unorthodox player in tennis, but he is indeed the most talented unorthodox player
Amazing.....
Medvedev is such a fiendish player. Watching him is like as if I'm solving a crossword puzzle.
Remember he gave prime Nadal absolute hell in US open final and it was 2 years ago! He's a monster now.
Still till this way can’t believe he won’t the third and fourth sets. I actually thought Rafa was gonna beat him in straights.
He was 33 back then, not prime
Avinash Anand 33 isnt that old look at djokovic now
He is a brilliant scientist, sometimes s bit mad.
Magic forehand with the uniqe style..
Vamos dani everybody with you tomorrow
Who's here after he won USO
Strange, but effective.
His body movements are quite funny, though his field/self/opponent perception are of the highest quality
Medvedev would be the one look out for the future what a tuff rigid mentality 🔥
2:10, he held his left hand all the way at the throat of the racquet!? Does he do that on all his BH's or just that particular shot?

6:27 this shot is like the one he had when he broke Tsitsipas a couple of days ago to get to 6-5 in the 2nd in the Aussie semi's
Djokovic has played the same shot many times which is why I say Daniil is a carbon copy of Novak.
Weirdest tennis style ever, but it somehow works lmao

Wow!!! Novak totally blew him away. That wasn't the usual Med for sure but damn, Novak is the man!
In one word: OCTOPUS 🐙
Djokovic sees himself as a superb baseliner but just look at that 40 shot rally between Medvedev and Rublev. Daniil just wore the guy out completely. Hope he thrashes Djokovic in tomorrow’s final. The no. 1 is getting far too conceited, boastful and is supposed to be “injured” but? So what if he’s unorthodox? His shots are mind blowing with every inch of the court covered👍👏👏👏❤️ Come on Medvedev! It’s your day tomorrow.❤️
Sincere apologies 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@miabartini6056 All that racket smashing Daniil😡 Stupid! Control yourself Medvedev because you can beat Djokovic as in the 2020 ATP best 8 of the season. LOL? Of course. He wins in 4 sets tonight. Joker can't hit as hard and doesn't really do anything better. I don't think the experience factor will be enough; the new guys are here, finally.
You should bet on Danil 🤣
Have you heard about Nole?
Today, he wins the US open, 21!!!!!
Fantastic player. He'll win multiple grand slams for sure.
This aged well
Supreme player next n1
He is a very nice guy. It was Tsitsipas who started the fight by saying something racist. But he did not respond by another racist rant.
He's a nice guy now, but back then and a couple of years ago he used to be very immature. Tsitsipas was at fault back then but Daniil also didn't react very well. Not that he was wrong, but to lose control of his emotions was customary for him a few years ago. Right now you can see that he has matured into not only a better tennis player (obviously) but also a better person, and that's imo the most important part.
I guess he does use more of his left hand than other typical two-handed back handlers.
His backhand 😂
Yes unorthodox, but I wouldn’t call him the most unorthodox . His serve and swings make mechanical sense. The only thing is he stands so far back, sometimes I feel bad for the staff.
2:18
I swear this guy played cricket. His tennis has shots from squash and cricket 🤣
Даниил уже 2 ракетка World!)
If u look at Medvedev and zveref they both are tall and lean . But Medvedev is the slimmer and leaner in terms of body shape zveref is more muscular had more mass . Medvedev is so light that he can bend his body to hit lower balls without having difficulties .
