  • I am sad to see in other places people saying that it's not the case that he won, more that Djokovic lost. For me, that is not true. Daniil has been the best player to watch the entire tournament, from shot selection, entertainment value and just everything overall. Djokovic never played his best against him that is true BUT that is down to the fact that Daniil never let him play his best, he had a game plan going in and he executed it perfectly and Djokovic simply couldn't find a way to work around it. I hope Daniil manages to win many more GS's in front of much more appreciative audiences and against someone other than Djokovic so he can celebrate properly. It was awful that he felt like he had to tone down his celebrations just not to upset Djokovic and the crowd.

  • 1:20 , this is why Medvedev is so hard to play against as well. In pro tennis, the speed is so high, you need to read your opponent well to be able to react. Medvedev is almost unreadable because of his unorthodox technique. Zverev would have been able to read that ball from most other players and be able to properly react to it. Now he can only look at it.

    • That wild-angle dropping-near-the-sideline backhand is a low-percentage stroke though. If it was in, most pros would have only stood still. Big 3 and top 5 player in the zone are able to hit these kinds of unreachable strokes regularly.

    • @@Funkytrip73 Yea, I do know that Meddy is notorious for that style of play. But in this particular case, it still looks that the stroke was executed well enough to break Sascha's defense. The previous forehand of Sascha easily landing right into Meddy's ready postion in the middle didn't help him at guessing the next shot of the opponent either. Meddy did the job taking the chance and punish him.

  • Medvedev moves amazing for o Man his size 1,98m.......just compare him to zverev that has the exact same height and moves like 10x heavier and slower

    • You are too hard on Zverev. He moves only slightly worse than Daniil. Thier games are similar but Medvedev has better defense, while Zverev - better offensive ground game. Olympic Gold was also a good trophy.

  • Daniil rarely goes "GOD MODE", he's just consistently very very good and a wall... a few of these are definitely not GOD mode. He doesn't lose a set to Schwartzman if he goat's.

  • That winnter in the point of 7:13 is not possible. You can't hit a winner from Rafa's inside out forhand banana xD

  • There are only 3 players who play at God mode. Rafa, Novak, Roger. Everyone else is great. Peak big 3 matches are something that will never be seen again in the history of the sport.

    • @Ziga Vidmar Hold your horses. He is undoubtedly great player. But you're comparing him to legends. Federer - 5 US Opens in a row and 6 Australian Opens, Novak - 3 US Opens and 9 Australian Opens. He'll have to do consistent winning of Grand Slams for the next 5-7 years. And there are other hungry contenders. He'll be extremely lucky if he wins 4-5 slams.
