Hatchet Multitool Restoration [Axe, Hammer, Prybar, Nail Puller]
I have used a new type of bluing in the restoration of this old rusty axe. I used burnishing salt on the old multitool so that it is now protected from rust. In this restoration video, I preserved almost all of the parts except for the pins that hold the wooden handles together. Restoring the old hatchet with extra functions required me to file, drill, grind, bluing, work on the lathe, remove rust with vinegar, and more. This video is not just to quickly show and explain something to someone, but also to relax and get away from it all! Relax with the video and enjoy what you see and hear.
▬ What did I do ?! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The old multitool was heavily rusted, I removed the rust with vinegar and a wire brush. With files, sandpaper, delta grinder and other tools I worked on the surface so that it is smooth again. One wooden handle was missing some material, which I filled in with putty. The wooden handles were also sanded and linseed oil varnish was put on them. On the lathe I made the new pins from brass. Using bluing salt, I burnished the old axe to prevent it from rusting. I polished the mechanically stressed parts of this old tool. After assembly, I was also already able to drive a nail and remove it with the same multitool.
▬ Good to know ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
I used the following tools: Multitool, hammer, pin punch, pliers, vinegar, files, sandpaper, delta sander, tweezers, wood shavings, putty, countersink, cordless screwdriver, drill, linseed oil varnish, lathe, lathe chisel, thermometer, bluing salt, wire, adhesive tape, knife, polisher, polishing paste

Wow, that was great! You have inspired me to restore my grandfather's old (very old and rusty) hatchet head, and make a new handle for it. Thanks!
I love watching your videos. I adore how you do your best to keep as many of the original components as possible. Very little "oh this is too broke or old, I'll just make a new one" for items that just need some patching. Your hard work is appreciated
Thank you very much! 🤗🤩🐢
Poor Turtle had a rough week 🤣🤣
Try to make/repair a hamburber Edit: I am a moron, but have matured

I love how you used the old wood for the handle, smart idea. I responded to this 2 months later. And I wish you could've shown the axe part of the tool
